Wherethefoxhat? Posted 30 October 2011 Posted 30 October 2011 Yet again we were denied yesterday what looked like a stonewall penalty which cost us at least a point . On numerous occasions this season ,dubious referees decisions have been pivotal in the outcome of our games .Not just in our games either .It seems everytime a match is televised ,Premier League or otherwise,at least one contentious decision determines the outcome. With so much at stake now in football, surely it's time to look at ways of improving the standards of referees generally, whether it be by financially encouraging ex-pros to take up the posts (as In Umpires at cricket),or some sort of training scheme to make glaring mistakes the exception rather than the norm !
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 30 October 2011 Posted 30 October 2011 Cant stand people who say that these things even themsleves out over a season, as that is just a big lie. Maybe for the big clubs it does, it certainly hasnt done for us in years.
breadandcheese Posted 30 October 2011 Posted 30 October 2011 I'd like to see it again but it was right in front of me and didn't look a penalty. I'd rather blame the poor defending for the result. With better organisation, all three goals would have been cut out.
The Dessert Fox Posted 30 October 2011 Posted 30 October 2011 If you recall, we had Howard Webb recently (against Derby I think) who I thought was excellent. Unfortunately what we then find for other fixtures, by comparison, doesn't step up to the plate.

Webb was another who interpreted "deliberate handball" dubiously and inexplicably failed to send off Jeff Hendrick for a two-footed stamp on Vassell. We still haven't had a penalty this season but before yesterday I can't really think of any times that we should have.

This is the problem, if you win well the refereeing doesn't matter. When you lose or draw each 'bad' decision has a real affect on the outcome...
glen parva fox Posted 30 October 2011 Posted 30 October 2011 Bring in the video refs for big decisions, about the only thing Rugby has got right!

Even though we've had just as convincing shouts as those given for the opposition.

Gotta agree really does wind me up, it's like people refuse to look at the real reasons we lost or drew games - because we didn't play well. That said i'm gonna contradict myself now saying yesterday I thought it was a penalty, I've only seen it once, and it was when it happened, but I thought it looked like a penalty and although I am (Obviously, i'm a Leicester fan) I try and look at thing without any bias, but on a whole people blaming referees for us not winning games I usually find pathetic and people really do need to look a little closer to home.
Guest MattP Posted 30 October 2011 Posted 30 October 2011 Our moaning about referees is getting a little embarrassing to be honest. We didn't get robbed of a point yesterday because of a referee, much like the other games. We lost out because of our appalling defending.
whoareyaaa Posted 30 October 2011 Posted 30 October 2011 the refs in the Championship make me feel sick at times, esepcially the cvnt against forest and all the other shite decsions they make. but it will always be the same so theres no point moaning. they are just mentally ill.

When you lose or draw each 'bad' decision has a real affect on the outcome... Can't accuse everyone of that. I give my honest opinion about refereeing performances regardless of the result - often we've won and I've thought the ref was shit, equally we've often lost and I thought the ref was fine...
Mrfox452 Posted 30 October 2011 Posted 30 October 2011 No one seems to remember the southampton game. our third goal should have never been allowed. but still we have had some shocking refs.
shiv Posted 30 October 2011 Posted 30 October 2011 I have to say it did look like king went down easily, and I had a pretty good view. The ref wasn't that bad yday in comparison to what we usually get.
Dylan Posted 30 October 2011 Posted 30 October 2011 No one seems to remember the southampton game. our third goal should have never been allowed. but still we have had some shocking refs. Which, if I seem to remember correctly, was only given because the referee failed to award a quite obvious stonewall penalty for a foul on Schlupp minutes earlier.
Bert Posted 30 October 2011 Posted 30 October 2011 I'm normally one of the worst for red bashing. But yesterday I thought he was decent, bar two crazy decisions. We should've had a penalty and one where Faye clattered beckford to the ground and got a free kick for it.

We should've had a penalty and one where Faye clattered beckford to the ground and got a free kick for it. Decisions which changed the game. Penalty to us at 2-1; could've been a whole different game. More than likely would've been 2-2 with us pushing for the win.
cc_star Posted 30 October 2011 Posted 30 October 2011 Ruining the season at all levels, but Howard Webb was brilliant today in the Spurs QPR game
Narborough_fox Posted 30 October 2011 Posted 30 October 2011 As long as we don't have the one my team had today we'll alright. Failed to send a player off who kicked me in the self and didn't give a foul for a two-footed lunge which made someone tear there ligament. Worst referee I've ever seen.

leicesterisme Posted 31 October 2011 Posted 31 October 2011 It does annoy me when people say the referee cost us the game. No he didn't, we just wasn't good enough to win the game. Take Forest for example even with Kasper sent off we still should of won that game and it was our fault that we didn't with Weale flapping all over the place. Yes Referees make bad decisions but they're only human and it just sounds to me like people are trying to make excuses for us not peforming.
