A compensation package believed to be in the region of 2 million pounds for Pearson, Shakespeare and Walsh was agreed between the two clubs. In a statement on the Leicester City website, Pearson said: "I can't tell you how happy I am to be back at Leicester, it was bloody terrible at Hull. Have you ever been there? To put it simply, the place is a dump. Also attempting to manage 'football players' such as Dele Adebola was making me lose the will to live. I've missed the fans, I've missed the club, I've missed the players, but most of all I've missed Ian Stringer. What a journo. I've missed his insightful and probing questioning and his twitter updates were the highlight of my day if truth be told. I've agreed to come back because I've been promised ten trillion pounds to spend on players, which I will use immediately to bring back Martyn Waghorn, Matty Fryatt and Jack Hobbs - which should see most of our budget depleted. Also, Top said that he can sort me out with a pre-order of Modern Warfare 3 - they're all sold out at Gamestation in Hull. That was the clincher.""

MPH Posted 8 November 2011 Posted 8 November 2011 confirmed as signing today by the Merc,, http://www.thisisleicestershire.co.uk/Leicester-City-set-confirm-Nigel-Pearson-manager/story-13788481-detail/story.html Nigel Pearson is expected to be confirmed as Leicester City's new manager today. The 48-year-old was holding talks with City yesterday about completing a remarkable return to the club just 18 months after leaving to join Hull City. Leicester City are set to confirm Nigel Pearson as manager The Tigers had rejected City's initial approach to speak to Pearson on Sunday morning, but after Pearson expressed his wish to hold talks with Leicester yesterday morning, Hull relented and are resigned to losing their manager. The Mercury reported on Saturday that Pearson had emerged as City's No.1 target after a two-week search for the successor to Sven-Goran Eriksson. City decided to make their approach after Hull's game against West Ham on Saturday so as not to disrupt Pearson's preparations. Pearson is seen as the perfect candidate because of his record in the Championship and his knowledge of the club after two seasons in charge under the ownership of Milan Mandaric. City also believe his man-management skills will bring out the best from their talented but under-performing squad. Pearson took City to the League One title in his first season and they were a penalty shoot-out away from reaching the play-off final at Wembley Stadium the following season. Pearson then left to join the Tigers after Hull were surprisingly granted permission to hold talks with him. At the time, Pearson felt City did not do enough to keep him and his relationship with then chief executive Lee Hoos had virtually broken down. But Mandaric and Hoos have now both left the club and, with the backing of City's Thai owners, Pearson may feel he can complete unfinished business from his first spell with Leicester. Pearson will inherit one of the strongest squads in the Championship, backed by what is believed to be the best budget. He will also be offered a strong personal package. Compensation will be agreed between the two clubs as Pearson had 18 months left on his Hull contract, which is reported to be around £400,000. Pearson is expected to bring his assistant managers, Craig Shakespeare and Steve Walsh, with him to the King Power Stadium, and will take charge of his first game at home against Crystal Palace on Sunday, November 20.
