Pearson is (maybe) signing

Just watch them appoint Billy Davies and have a much better season than us.

It's gonna be Swansea all over again.

Billy Davies was sacked at Derby by the Hull chairman, so it might not happen, but what you say is correct and would be typical.

Best news I heard all season. The MON dream was a nice story but at the end of the day, Pearson coming back is a dream for me as well. Welcome back Nigel !

Sincere best wishes to the man. He's what a lot of the fans have called for and I hope the bloke achieves all the success they crave. Not for one moment do I imagine it will be generally entertaining.

But it will be respectable and it will be committed.

As a bloke, I admire Pearson because he tries to get as much from himself as he can despite his limitations. He's not a visionary but he does have sound principles which he's strong enough to apply.

I remember when he joined us from Southampton pleading with him to expand his thinking and develop a more exciting approach. It didn't happen so I'll not harbour any hopes now.

I think we're much more likely to become a Stoke than a Spurs, functionary rather than flamboyant. But what the hell. Blank canvasses sell for a fortune now in the name of art. At least ours might have the odd bit of colour when we play at home against easier opposition. But for big games he'll revert to type with a much more professional version of the dross we produced against Leeds.

He might even start by getting the players fit and in the sort of mental state that allows them to do their job properly.

They are solid Prem team now and in Europe this is what we should be aspiring to be.

lol These are my favourite of your posts.

"I did have a word with him, like, but no good lads" said Tony "I was like, 'Now then Nige, we need t'have word 'bout Max Gradel - you really need to be playing him more.' week later he was transfer listed. Went on to do wonders at Leeds, but I warned him!"

I've been looking at his record over the past few years.

In 2008/09 he won 14 away games, losing 3. In 2009/10 he won 8 away and lost 8. 2010/11 he won 9 and lost 5. So far this season he's won 3 and lost 2 from 8 away games.

So, since he joined us in 2008, he's managed 77 away league games, winning 34 and losing 18.

Hopefully that form will continue.
