Ric Flair Posted 7 November 2011 Posted 7 November 2011 Oh my. Big deal. Getting us out of the THIRD tier, was his greatest achievement. Wow! That really makes him a top manager. Wake up sonny, and open your peepers. You obviously are happy to stay in the Championship. Some of us want Premier status. Now, drink your cocoa like a good little chap, as it must be past your bedtime now. I'm not talking about division 3. I'm talking about Pearson's nigh on 50% win ratio when we finished 5th to a very strong Newcastle, West Brom and Cardiff team. I'd be setting my sights a lot higher if I had any faith in the other managers that were seriously linked to us but yet again the O'Neill rumours were unfounded, likewise Mark Hughes and the rest we were linked with are a much of a muchness. We know what we're getting with Nigel, he did very well last time and with more resources and a better squad already then I'm more than happy. I was a massive fan of Sven's and I'm aggrieved he's gone but if someone of his calibre cannot get us to the top then I'll stick with an unfashionable chap like Pearson thanks. A'iiiight.
Happy Fox Posted 7 November 2011 Posted 7 November 2011 StringerSport Ian Stringer Expect some sort of announcement from Hull in the morning with something from #lcfc later. Press conference Weds/Thurs. Welcome back Nigel Poor Stringer,
Tielemans63 Posted 7 November 2011 Posted 7 November 2011 Reaction from the Tigers forum! http://boards.footymad.net/forum.php?tno=297&fid=148&sty=2&act=1&mid=2115969298 You've got feel sorry for / laugh at them. Someone has started a thread called 'Twenty reasons why Iain Dowie should get the job' with absolutely no hint of irony or sarcasm.

Now, drink your cocoa like a good little chap, as it must be past your bedtime now. You must be deluded, are you expecting Mourinho? If MoN, Hughes & Clark were spoken to, they all turned us down. Billy Davies (despite never being out the top 6 with Preston, Derby & Forest, something Sven never acheived) was hated on here And Dave Jones, whilst a capable manager failed to get a well backed Cardiff side promoted, 3 years running. Keane spunked millions up the wall at Ipswich & left them in a worse state than he found them. Pearson's done a good job everywhere he's been and as for talk of 3rd tier, ask ManCity, Leeds & Forest fans how easy it is to go back up at the 1st time of asking, nevermind as Champions. We're lucky he never laughed his head off and told us to F off when we put the feelers out. Welcome back Nigel, you've a job to finish that was rudely inturrupted by an inept Sousa & a chronic under-achiever Sven
I am Rod Hull Posted 7 November 2011 Posted 7 November 2011 Quote from hull forum.... http://boards.footymad.net/forum.php?tno=297&fid=148&sty=2&act=1&mid=2115969298 "i just hope with the swift change at our clubs end they impose a clause in his release , that he cannot approach a city player until after this season". ------------------------------------------------------ Which City is he talking about ?
lcfcsnow Posted 7 November 2011 Posted 7 November 2011 Well worth it. Steve Walsh eye for talent will be utilized to the max, with our owners backing now in the transfer market expect gems we can actually buy now Where has this eye for talent come from? Cleverley, Davies and Hobbs but other than that? It was common knowledge that they were quality young players. I'm assuming he scouted the likes of Robbie Neilsen, Tom Kennedy and Dany N'Guessan as players for the Championship so it's very much 50/50.
Spiritwalker Posted 7 November 2011 Posted 7 November 2011 Funk me they've got 16 users reading that thread. I wonder how many they get on a slow news day.

Look at Hull City the players they have bought in from Man U, if we had the funds back then we could have afforded the likes of Davies and Cleverly and look now they have turned out.
gazmanthegun Posted 7 November 2011 Posted 7 November 2011 Really really happy with this. Solid manager with solid tactics. Glad he has a while to knock them into shape before the next match Well worked by top and the boys
roblcfc84 Posted 7 November 2011 Posted 7 November 2011 Welcome back Nigel. Will get a talented group of players prepared for this league properly. Committed, good work ethic and attitude. Tactically more aware for this division. Would love him to bring Brady he had on load from man utd. Very skilful winger.

With no money to spend they did a sound job, risks had to be taken. Now with a bigger budget it should open up more doors and make it easier to bring in a higher calibre player.

Man Utd would never have sold Cleverly, he's one for their future.
Guest shearfox Posted 7 November 2011 Posted 7 November 2011 Man Utd would never have sold Cleverly, he's one for their future. His more than that now, he was starting games for United until he got injured
The Padster Posted 7 November 2011 Posted 7 November 2011 Pearson seen arriving at the King Power Stadium. Proof? Here's his car....
Guest Col city fan Posted 7 November 2011 Posted 7 November 2011 I had to... Superb my man!!! I'm so happy I think Ive just done a little sex wee in my big pants!!
leicesterseddon Posted 7 November 2011 Posted 7 November 2011 Let's not forget in all this, just how humiliating this must be for Hull City fans. :crylaugh:
lcfc81 Posted 7 November 2011 Posted 7 November 2011 I've just been thinking, I am now so glad he wasn't booed or given grief when he came back with Hull (as I remember some suggested). I'm also thinking about how gutted I was when he left and how happy now he has returned. Good job Top.
