What he's said about Greece and Italy is 100% correct, the EU have removed their democratically elected govts and replaced with puppet regimes. The man they have put in charge in Italy has never been voted for by anyone. Quite frankly it stinks.

I'm not saying he's incorrec,t I was just concerned that some people who replied who thought his speech was great really understood the content and judging by one response my concerns were justified.

Met him a few times, not only does he talk sense on a lot of issues but he is also a really nice guy.

Think I'm voting UKIP from now on, the Tories have surged so far to the left under Cameron it's embarrassing.

In all fairness they've put a man who's actually qualified (an economist) in charge to deal with the mess that a corrupt politician who won a popularity contest got them into. However undemocratic that maybe its far more democratic than Italy has been under Berlusconi.

Well what he said about the Germans dominating is true to the extent that they are expected to pay for everything and so do have a bigger say. There is by all accounts very strong anti German feeling in Greece now.

It's nothing against the German people, a lot of them are angry about the situation too.

It can't possibly be more democratic to put in an unelected technocrat at the behest of France and Germany rather than a (however flawed) person who has won an election. What happens if there are changes of govt in France and Germany next year and they decide to put a different technocrat in charge?

How is it remotely democratic for unelected politicians to remove elected politicians and replace them with more unelected politicians?

Despite the myths peddled Italy did vote for Silvio and he was very popular in Italy.

I'm not saying its at all democratic but I'm also saying it wasn't true democracy that kept Berlusconi in power either. He owns the largest media network in the country, so has the power to bring down anyone who rivalled him, changed laws that favoured his legal predicaments, implimented anti-competition and price fixing guilds, and created one of the largest brain drains the country has ever seen because of the need for raccomandaziones. If you think this alternative was anything like a democracy you're deluded.

Germans and Greeks have never got on.

Haven't they? What about the couple who live in that big place in London? What are their names again - Liz and Phil?

I seem to remember a few years ago I was on a Greek island when the World Cup was on and Germany was knocked out. The bar I was in went beserk. The locals were supporting the opposition everytime Germany played.
