Guest Col city fan Posted 29 November 2011 Posted 29 November 2011 Where are the 'Dyer isnt good enough' and the Sven lovers gone now? A massive two fingers to those people. The whole Sven love fest was something I never understood at the time and don't think I ever will. We today looked like a 'team' rather than a group of individuals. Long may it continue
Corky Posted 29 November 2011 Posted 29 November 2011 Lloyd will do until January. I didn't see the game tonight but I thought against Palace he allowed Konchesky to be more expressive and comfortable. They could form a good partnership on the left.

Captain... Posted 29 November 2011 Posted 29 November 2011 At the moment we need Dyer in the team because we have no one else who can run at people take people on and get the ball in. I am a big fan of Dyer and it is great to see him back in the line-up and playing well. I am also impressed with the way he tracks back, both him and Gally, neither are natural defenders but they both get back and help out the defence and without that the formation doesn't work. I also like the way Nigel has got him swapping wings and coming in on his left foot a few times.
LCFC BEAST Posted 29 November 2011 Posted 29 November 2011 Dyer played well tonight but certainly not at his best. With him playing at his best and Beckford looking as sharp as he did today we're on to a winner. Also Howardinho played well when he came on
Maybes Posted 29 November 2011 Posted 29 November 2011 Don't really get why people don't like Dyer. Not really sure what they expect from a championship winger.... He has pace, can beat a man and has a decent shot on him. Okay his final ball can be hit and miss and he is very left footed, hence why he is playing for us and not a prem side.
cosmos Posted 29 November 2011 Posted 29 November 2011 think we were very good tonight and it was nice to see Beckford getting some decent applause when he came off-don't remember seeing a bad performance from any of our lot either!
Lambert09 Posted 30 November 2011 Posted 30 November 2011 I loved it when he blitzed threw with his pace then the right back comes over and you expect him to smash him off it and lloyd just bounces him off him and keeps going..... keep it up, I really want him to succeed more than any player at the club
Guest Col city fan Posted 30 November 2011 Posted 30 November 2011 I've been calling for Dyer to be given a chance ever since Svennis took over. Can't for the life of me think why he wasn't given that chance under SGE? Yes sometimes his final product can be poor but the goals he set up last night were based upon the one main ingredient lacking from Svens teams.... Pace The first goal was about skipping around a slow defender, the second about bombing through from deep Well done Lloyd I've always believed in you. Another quick winger on the right and we could be going places.
Mickey O'Neil Posted 30 November 2011 Posted 30 November 2011 Dyer wasn't greedy either when he knocked the ball to Danns to fire in. Most people would have shot in that position. Beckford was unlucky not to score last night as well.
Saxondale Posted 30 November 2011 Posted 30 November 2011 Beckford was unlucky not to score last night as well. I think you can see Beckford's confidence growing. I reckon he'll start knocking a few goals in now.
Simo86 Posted 30 November 2011 Posted 30 November 2011 I love the fact that Dyer is such a unit up top but his bottom half look like a 12 year olds
ajthefox Posted 30 November 2011 Posted 30 November 2011 I am a fan of Lloyd but he really needs to build on this. We all know he is capable of producing top quality stuff on his day, Man City last season being a prime example, but if you don't do it consistently then it doesn't really matter. I know this sounds a bit miserable, but I think a few are getting a little excited as if this one performance has shown Dyer is a new man. If he puts in the same kind of shift against Hull and continues to perform, maybe then we can start saying he's turned a corner.
liamsm Posted 30 November 2011 Posted 30 November 2011 I thought season ticket holders had more sense, L1 is supposed to be season ticket holders only, and i got fed up of some idiot saying he HATED Dyer, he was even slagging him off 2 minutes after he set the goal up, WHY do these idiots waste there money. IMO they should stay at home, so negative even when player is doing well
liamsm Posted 30 November 2011 Posted 30 November 2011 you cant possibly say beckford played bad, he wasnt lazy, made some great runs, unlucky not to score, great link up play. im sure people just want him to fail. I really jusy want him to do well, but i'm not sure it will happen

You may be referring to me as when that ball was played upto him before our first goal, I commented about how it was a pointless ball that Dyer was never going win (with it being in the air) I was made to eat my words , but I rate him. If you're not referring to me then maybe you're on about gobshite right at the very back of the stand with his, 'yes lloydy' comments etc?
Guest MattP Posted 30 November 2011 Posted 30 November 2011 If everyone who had a moan stayed at home our average attendance would be 500. Don't do it myself but people are entitled to moan as much as they want if they have shelled out £400+ for a season ticket.
Wherethefoxhat? Posted 30 November 2011 Posted 30 November 2011 Haha and funnily enough I thought Wellens looked steady, but the stream made it hard to differentiate what was being done by who in the middle of the park. Wellens under Pearson is always more efficient anyway as he's not instructed to play the playmaker role, the emphasis is to get the ball out wide or forward quickly. Under Sven in a 3 or 4 man diamond, he was given a Pirlo costume and asked to spray it about left, right and centre. Wellens would be the first name on Pearson's teamsheet methinks........and although Dyer did play a part in our second goal by playing a simple layoff to Danns ......it was Wellens defence splitting pass to Dyer that made that goal !
allotment-fox Posted 30 November 2011 Posted 30 November 2011 Eat your words Mr Alan Young & BBC Radio Leicester Expert "in modern game no place for wide players just attacking full backs"
Haydos Posted 30 November 2011 Posted 30 November 2011 Where are the 'Dyer isnt good enough' and the Sven lovers gone now? A massive two fingers to those people. Yo! Still think it was too early for Sven, but if Nige carries on like this then i'll just have to eat my words. You just go and be a dick about it though, "Yeah, fvck everyone who now in hindsight were possibly wrong about something." Knob. Now Dyer, still don't think he's good enough. Granted he may have had a great game, but how often does he have a good game? If he can prove that he has a level of consistency then fair enough but in the last year or so he hasn't done that. After one game you're suddenly jumping to the conclusion that he's shit hot? Again,

Regarding Lloyd Dyer.. How could he gain any sort of form under Sven? He hardly ever gave him a run out, let alone a decent string of games. Instead Sven insisted on playing a ridiculous amount of central midfielders out of position. As I said before yesterday's game, let's give Dyer the chance he deserves. He hasn't moaned, publically, once since being dropped under Sven and remains a consummate professional.

I'm just saying I've rarely seen him doing anything that warrants a starting place. I'm not looking for an argument, just stating my opinion on him. But when people are even slightly right about something on here they can't wait to tell everyone else they were 'wrong' and to fvck off. It's a fvcking playground. Brilliant, a player you've slightly praised at some point in the past player well, well fvcking done. (That wasn't a dig a t you Just people that act like that eg. Father Twat. Know what I mean?

Yes mate I do and it's annoying. The thing that gets on my tits is people adulating players one week when they play well, yet crucify them the next when they have an off day. I think the one constant that people respect, week in, week out is EFFORT.. The players that have pissed me off recently have been Gally and Beckford, not because they are bad players per se, but because it appears they aren't trying. Now Beckford, if he continues to put in the sort of effort he did last night, will make me back him because it becomes clear he wants success both for himself and for the club. Lloyd Dyer IMO puts everything into every game and this makes me forgive him for the limitations to his game.

Up until the goal, Dyer was having a right shit game. So what if someone hates Dyer. Ignore it, and carry on supporting the lads.
Fox92 Posted 30 November 2011 Posted 30 November 2011 I'm pleased Dyer had a good game yesterday, I agree he did look better. I still he isn't quality though - lets see how he does against Hull on Saturday and hope he can turn in consistant performances. Obviously Nigel can only use what he has taken from Sven, and I'm pleased we play with width, and I am pleased Dyer (and the whole team) look better.
