Jonny Chee Posted 2 December 2011 Posted 2 December 2011 Getting bored of this already. Just got promoted and in pre season and already can't be bothered. The same happened with the last couple of FM releases. It's either the game, or it's me (probably the latter).
Fox92 Posted 2 December 2011 Posted 2 December 2011 Finished my first Premier League season with Leicester. I was predicted 18th, but finished a massive 7th!! & I also won the FA Cup (beat Chelsea on penalties). Also, won manager of the year Free signing Carlos Tevez ended up with 29 goals. The whole team should be proud of themselves, a great effort. Finishing 7th is fantastic, but I doubt I can push on from that because I doubt I have what it takes to rival Tottenham/Man City/Man Utd/Liverpool/Arsenal and Chelsea. In Europe then next season. Think I might go for two players in every position, as my previous experiences with Europe (on previous editions of football manager) has had a negative effect on the squad.
harryboi72 Posted 2 December 2011 Posted 2 December 2011 doing pretty well then beckford damages his cruciate ligaments against forest thanks to a certain chris gunter. 9-11 months out and then his replacment nugent breaks his leg in the next match

How the fuck did you manage to land Tevez???
RonnieTodger Posted 2 December 2011 Posted 2 December 2011 Started a Leicester file. IN: Whittingham £3m, Cyrus Christie £1.5m OUT: Moussa (loan to Notts County) 3rd after 8 games 3 wins, 5 draws (unbeaten) Best result: 2-1 AET win over (a full strength) Liverpool team in the Carling Cup. Gerrard put them 1 up with a 30 yard lob over Kasper on 38 mins. Having made all 3 subs, Yuki Abe got injured so we were down to 10 men for the last 5 mins, being a goal down in front a 32,300 strong crowd. Beckford took our only decent chance in the 93rd minute to take the game to extra time. Liverpool battered us in extra time but Beckford took another chance in the 106th minute and a wonder save from Schmeichel with 2 minutes left sent us through. Class. Best XI so far: Schmeichel Pantsil Bamba Mills Konchesky Wellens Fernandes Vassell King Whittingham Beckford
Bugg Posted 2 December 2011 Posted 2 December 2011 Thank god for the team meeting feature on this, it really helps me out when my team hit really really shit form.
RonnieTodger Posted 3 December 2011 Posted 3 December 2011 Pissed off. My FC Halifax Town (because I watched them on TV against Charlton and thought I'd give it a go) are top of the Blue Square North and flying. We've knocked out Bradford Park Avenue, Frickley Athletic, Southport, Cheltenham and now Macclesfield to get to round 3 of the FA Cup, hoping i'd get a big name and I get Northampton away
Fox92 Posted 3 December 2011 Posted 3 December 2011 How the **** did you manage to land Tevez??? He wanted to leave Manchester City, so I 'approached to sign' him. His was on something like 150k a week, and I thought I've got no chance, but I offered him 77k a week (alot I know, but it didn't burst my wage budget) and he accepted it. Couldn't believe it, in fact me face was like !! Anyway, he has been brilliant this season. Like I say, nearly 30 goals. And some of them have been classic's.

I tried and tried to get him but to no avail. Instead I ended up with another of Man Citys moody, troublemakers (Balotelli) who turned out to be shit. <_<
harryboi72 Posted 3 December 2011 Posted 3 December 2011 managed to sign maynard for 2 mil in january
Fox92 Posted 3 December 2011 Posted 3 December 2011 I tried and tried to get him but to no avail. Instead I ended up with another of Man Citys moody, troublemakers (Balotelli) who turned out to be shit. He has just been released, I have looked at him and thought about it, but that highlighted part of your post has put me off I really need a good Premier League striker. Tevez is fantastic but I like playing him behind more (yes, I play 4-4-1-1), Adebayor got a decent 11 goals in 18 games last season but can't last 90 minutes, and both Ebanks-Blake and Billy Sharp haven't produced their fantastic Championship form in the Premier League. I really don't know who to go for. Either the player wants too much £££ as wages, or the team want too much £££ as an asking price.
Finnegan Posted 3 December 2011 Posted 3 December 2011 Abel Hernandez looks the boy on this again, can you afford him? I signed Tim Matavz on my Leicester game, looks okay just haven't had time to play him much yet.
Ozwin Posted 3 December 2011 Posted 3 December 2011 I'm gonna start as Blackburn and turn off the transfer window at the start of the season. See how I do.

I did offload him for £10 million the following January so on that basis he was worth getting.

I signed Tim Matavz on my Leicester game, looks okay just haven't had time to play him much yet. Abel Hernandez is at a good age, and I did have a bid accepted but he did not want to join. Really struggling to find a good striker to be honest, and I also need a backup goalkeeper. Good job I am in pre-season!!
Fox92 Posted 4 December 2011 Posted 4 December 2011 Tim Matavz? I'm just loading the game up now, so I am going to take a look at him. Thank you for your suggestions.
Cal Posted 4 December 2011 Posted 4 December 2011 Had it for a month or so, still havnt opened it.. too caught up in my FM11 save. Is there even any point playing it until the final patch is out? I never play the new ones until around February time?
Haydos Posted 4 December 2011 Posted 4 December 2011 Had it for a month or so, still havnt opened it.. too caught up in my FM11 save. Is there even any point playing it until the final patch is out? I never play the new ones until around February time? This is what i'm doing as well. Got nostalgic about my 20 year long save on 2010 the other day. Had turned the club into a bit of a wonderkid production factory but it was the best game I've played.
General Smuts Posted 5 December 2011 Posted 5 December 2011 Started as Woking last night and have a deadly strikeforce of Elvis Hammond and Ricky Sappleton. Animals. Only other name of note at the moment is Tommy Tejan-Sie in the midfield. Impossible to get rid of the deadwood though. 14 players in my reserve squad I can't flog.
Jonny Chee Posted 5 December 2011 Posted 5 December 2011 Starting to enjoy it now I have got pre season out of the way. Sitting 10th in Premiership after 10 games. Just beat Newcastle 6-1 at home, 4 goals from Federico Macheda. Good start to life with the big boys. My team is: GK - Kasper Schmeichel RB - John Pantsil LB - Paul Konchesky CB - Sol Bamba CB - Marc Bartra DMC - Medo CM - Jonjo Shelvey (loan) CM - Darron Gibson AMR - David Bentley AML - Mehdi Carcela ST - Federico Macheda (loan) Subs: Marton Fulop, Seamus Coleman, Aleksandar Tunchev, Andy King, Paul Gallagher, Jermaine Beckford, Dave Nugent. I'm amazed at how well my back line is playing, it is pretty much the defence from the Championship campaign. Although Barta (signed on a free from Barcelona) is fantastic.... Macheda is also a beast in front of goal....
General Smuts Posted 5 December 2011 Posted 5 December 2011 Dear Everyone, Stop signing Championship players when you get into the Premiership. Either buy future wonderkids or piss your money away on Spurs or Man City reserves. Yours Sincerley, General Smuts. -x-
The Doctor Posted 5 December 2011 Posted 5 December 2011 Dear Everyone, Stop signing Championship players when you get into the Premiership. Either buy future wonderkids or piss your money away on Spurs or Man City reserves. Yours Sincerley, General Smuts. -x- I'll have you know I spend my money on a significantly higher degree of bollocksnessness. I buy foreign players with cool names.
AjcW Posted 5 December 2011 Posted 5 December 2011 Won the Olympics, got **** all recognition for it, then was obviously removed a day later... oh well at least it made me happy .
