Forget about me wanting/needing a striker, just got my season underway and beat Manchester City in the Cummunity Shield final 4-0 [Tevez, Adebayor 3] and then won away at Fulham on the opening day 0-1.

Won the Olympics, got **** all recognition for it, then was obviously removed a day later... oh well at least it made me happy :).

Same thing happened with me. Won the league with Leicester, managed GB won it and nothing, f all!! So i quit haha, at least it stays in your achievements that youve won a international cup ;)

currently sitting 5th in my 3rd season with Leicester in the Prem. with only a few points between 3rd and 7th. I managed to sign Adam Johnson in first season in the prem. Then managed to get Daniel Sturridge on a free and he has turned out to be MASSIVE. Also signed Gago on a free with some bargins thrown in there and splashing the cash on a fast winger (Hoilett). Blackburn are sniffing around Bamba and offered 5.5m and grant Hanely, which was tempting but with Bamba being in the form he is, i cant afford to loose him half way through season. Also signed Munoz as i had him on FM11 with inter and he was quality.

I will post pictures on my team later on but finally got hooked on a game on FM12

Fierro starting to come good now midway through 3rd season accompanied by Babacar. They are starting to forge quite a partnership. Selection headache for AML and AMR and AMC between Verratti, Fischer, Tom, Ryder Matos, Yaisien, and Alex Tiexeira though.

Right. I've decided I can't spend my whole life playing Skyrim so am now splitting it between that and FM2012.

I'm pretty good on these games but never make my own tactics so Finners - where are your tactics?

Who has figured out the training on this one?

Any pointers?

Perhaps most pertinently at the moment, I want a really good GK coach and an assistant manager who is good with team talks, must be prepared to join Leicester.

Any tips?

I'll just add to that bit.

My players always moan about the 'training workload'. I always make my own training tasks, so is it a case of just moving the workload slide bar down?

Just finished 8th in my first season with Villa, and made the final of the FA Cup before losing 3-2 in extra time to an OG. Still, European football for next season.

If I hadnt have drawn 2 and lost 5 out of 7 over Xmas I would have threatened Champions League but nevermind.

Decent first season.

I'm about to hit the sack but if I remember I'll throw up training and tactics tomorrow.

For anyone that can be bothered to read it (it's very long) I recommend having a look at this and setting up your own training schedules. Not because I don't want to share mine but because you genuinely will get best results if you tailor your own to the players you hvae.

Yer but you dont have Munoz. I tried to get Sturridge on a pre contract but would have had to pay 3.5m comp to chelsea. He wanted a 6m release clause and loads on wages and bonuses. Decided to wait until July and took a gamble. He left chelsea, go thim for nothing, release clause of 36m and saved myself loads on wages and bonuses. Got the owners to buy the stadium and now hope to expand it in next few seasons

Tony Coton is the man you want then.

I suggest you read the link Finners posted (in the quote below as well). The players complaining is down to the training workload vs. their player stats which include IIRC determination, work rate, but even more importantly hidden stats like how professional and ambitious they are. If a player has a high value in those, it will be depicted in the AM/Coach report of the player (although this might require a high JA stat) and the info screen under 'personality' or even 'media handling'. There are also two different complaints that I have noticed, one is about 'level of fitness training' and the other about 'training workload in general'. Either way, move the sliders down slightly in the relevant categories until the player is 'content' at least. NB: This is also why it is important to have individual training schedules for each player, IMO.

There are a couple of objections to some of that in there. In my experience, once the tactic(s) are all trained to fluid, you can set it to 'very low' which will certainly maintain the playing tactic. Also, if Aerial Ability is the GK equivalent of Jumping, what does he use jumping for? :dunno: Also, I'm not sure that having the overall workload "one notch below heavy" is always the right way to go. For a very professional player with low injury proneness I say give him as high training as possible without making him unhappy.

Also another tip for those that aren't familiar with player interactions, if you warn a player for a poor performance (anything less than around 6.0) he is likely to accept it, sometimes even reacting positively and get higher work rate/determination, which in turn affect his training

One assumes a GK uses jumping outside of his penalty area in the same way that a striker may use 'positioning' if you have him back on defensive duties.

I don't think that's the single best guide I've seen to training but it is a very good one and covers all the basics and it's the best I've found that takes on board this year's changes.

It just further emphasizes the confusing and sometimes overcomplicated stat system. Why GKs need a separate 'jumping' attribute is a bit counter-intuitive to me. If he has a jumping stat 'outside the box' then he'd also need values for heading, passing etc.

One of my friends mates runs that site lol (If you know what I mean)

He asked me to join when it was first made, and for me to try and promote it but I never followed up.

Don't look at me, ask SI!

*looks at Finners* I know you're behind this!! :P

On another note, how do you guys play network games? Tried using Hamachi, and I can join and all, but the response times are ludicrous (have to wait around 30secs for screen changes) which makes the game unplayable. Any solutions?

I've not touched training at all or done too much on tactics but I'm absolutely walking the league with Leicester. It's too easy. I've had a look through the rest of the thread and I gather everyone has found this. Would like the clean sweep of steam achievements on this. Never played German league so bottom division to top division there might be interesting.

I've always thought they should have challenge scenarios on this.

would love to get this game but my laptop is so slow, downloaded the demo and when it comes to playing an actual game always freezes and takes ages to finnish one game! :/

Posted

just started playing schlupp regularly as Sturridge and Macheda both out for 5 Months and that boy is on fire! has scored in near enough every game and his value has gone from 925k to 3.5mil!

I've never focused too much on training I have to admit, I've done my own schedules/improved coaches in the past but I've never noticed any serious gain from my schedules, in-fact a lot of players have become worse when in-fact I've put their sole focus on their main attributes which you need to play the position required.

It's not exactly FM12 but I've just started a net game with a mate on 11 with the 12 update, brilliant update it has to be said, I'm Leicester he's Saints, we get £8mil to their £5mil.

Signed Simone Verdi on loan (back-up winger, Gallagher and Dyer always play excellently for me), Mateo Kovacic (bad signing for £3mil when he doesn't even join for two years) and Guly Do Prado as I needed a good back up right winger/forward, he cost me £500k from my mate.

Results so far;

Peterborough 0-1 Southampton (He was ridiculously lucky, got bossed from the word go)

West Ham 3-4 Leicester (Absolute classic, 2-0 down but I stuck to my attacking flair and we went 2-4 up deservedly, they got a late consolation but I've never been so convinced after one game that I'm going up, completely outplayed them)

Leicester 4-0 Crewe & Southampton 2-0 Cheltenham (Standard)

Southampton 4-0 Doncaster (Sounds like as you'd expect)

Leicester 1-0 Millwall (Can do better but win's a win)

West Ham 1-0 Southampton (He got outplayed and really was lucky to only lose by 1)

Leicester 5-2 Brighton (Another late surge in goals, absolutely turned on the style)

Northampton 0-3 Leicester (Standard, Beckford hat-trick)

Southampton 0-1 Everton (Standard, again)

Joint top, somehow Burnley have bettered it, we'll go up as Champions though I'm sure of it, never been so convinced after one game, took positivity to West Ham and it completely paid off. Got Southampton at home in a couple of games too, could be absolutely class if he can't defend.

Which "can't defend" is pretty optimistic from me, he's let in 2 goals in 5 games and even they were to Everton and West Ham.

The transfer system still lets this game down, BIG TIME.

On my game in season 2, the likes of Torres, Essien, Lescott are transfer listed for their values (between £3m and £6m). Nobody is even interested in them and they have been listed for ages. Also Tevez has been listed since the start of the game and also no interest.

In reality, these players would have been snapped up by clubs long ago, despite their high wages.

Very unrealistic.
