Jonny Chee Posted 30 November 2011 Posted 30 November 2011 Can anybody suggest any good wingers? I am in January 2012 with LCFC and top of league (just). Not signed anybody yet as I turned off the first period transfer budgets. I was looking at Lallana but they want £8m. No chance! Playing 4-5-1 / 4-3-3.

Sisi is good too, as well as Psaume and Gonzalo Fierro. I signed all of them in my 1st season and they all performed well. I'm now about to start my 3rd season after getting promoted in my 1st, both Sisi and Halfar are still in my squad.
Leicester_Loyal Posted 30 November 2011 Posted 30 November 2011 Gotten a bit bored of this now. I could play the 03/04/05 ones for days on end. I don't find it anywhere near as fun anymore
Will1981 Posted 30 November 2011 Posted 30 November 2011 I have created a Leicester Legends Database here: http://www.fm-base.co.uk/forum/transfer-updates-custom-leagues-editing/87921-leicester-legends-database.html#post1373503

He's a beast, signed him for about £1.2million from Fluminese I think it was and he got 15 goals and 20 assists from left wing (got him cutting inside and banging them in) he won championship player of the season too and already has about 7 assists from 10 games in the prem. Good player.
Darkon84 Posted 30 November 2011 Posted 30 November 2011 Yeah, that's one. By the way, how do his mates Erick Torres and MA Bueno turn out later in the game? Kelvin, Musa and Joel Valencia also look decent, but WP issues. Sarabia and Oscar look excellent, but are expensive. Pretty sure Mulumbu is much improved this time around. Not convinced by Bertolacci either. My main targets this season are Mbaye Niang, Mateo Kovacic and Sidney Sam (already purchased, not new but hot diggity is he good!). Same here, Sidney Sam got offered to me at the end of the first season for about £1.5million. I snapped that right up. He took a little while to settle in, but hes hit form now! Missed out on Kovacic to udinese (if I remember correctly). All scounts rating him as a 5 star future talent Gutted
Dan Posted 30 November 2011 Posted 30 November 2011 Artem Milevskyi at Celtic. To be fair I'm amazed you've kept so close to him with your budget compared to his. So fvcked off that my 12 doesn't work.
shen Posted 30 November 2011 Posted 30 November 2011 I've just started the third season on my City save and my St Pauli save is about six months in, I have no idea. I really haven't been taken by this at all. Or, to be fair, any computer game this year. There's a distinct danger I'm getting old. I know what you mean, there's just not that excitement anymore. Can anybody suggest any good wingers? I am in January 2012 with LCFC and top of league (just). Not signed anybody yet as I turned off the first period transfer budgets. I was looking at Lallana but they want £8m. No chance! Playing 4-5-1 / 4-3-3. Gallagher and Dyer are decent enough really. Used them mainly as inside forwards on opposite wings. Modise was pretty cheap. Fleck on loan? He can play across the whole midfield or even as a striker. Burnley (I think) bought a fella called Shikabala on the cheap, he looked good.
Fox92 Posted 30 November 2011 Posted 30 November 2011 In January in my first year in the Prem (took me three years to get out of the Championship with Leicester), and I am loving it. Currently sitting 6th - even above Chelsea!! I was predicted 18th, and although I still have a few months to go, I don't think relegation is on the cards. Tevez is proving he was a great free signing for me - 20 goals and 12 assits Picked up some good results as well. I drew away at Arsenal, and won at Chelsea.
DB11 Posted 30 November 2011 Posted 30 November 2011 Ironically enough I ALWAYS set my teams to be aggressive and yet incredibly I normally end up with one of the best disciplinary records in the division, that can't be a co-incidence, maybe there's something I do that makes sure they don't do owt stupid. When I have aggressive tackling on, the opponents always seem to end up with a red card
The Doctor Posted 30 November 2011 Posted 30 November 2011 Can't be ****ed with this at the moment, just can't stick with a single save for more than a season. Might try with Toulouse again.
shen Posted 30 November 2011 Posted 30 November 2011 Can't be ****ed with this at the moment, just can't stick with a single save for more than a season. Might try with Toulouse again. Toulouse on FM 08 or 09 was one of my faves, even if it was one of my least succesful saves. Probably because the challenge was so hard. My board kept selling my best players after a year. I had to replace half my team involuntarily every season. It was while Elmander was still there (and a beast at AMC) and Zeefuik was the shizzle.
Simo86 Posted 30 November 2011 Posted 30 November 2011 I'm just starting my 3rd season, I'm in the prem and my summer signings have been Kagawa on a free, Dentinho (striker), Manoel (cb) and Mohammed Diame. Should be all i need to get in to europe this season.
Jonny Chee Posted 30 November 2011 Posted 30 November 2011 Just won the League Cup in the first season with Leicester. Knocked out Chelsea, Liverpool and Bolton on the way. Beat Reading 3-1 in the final. So will be in Europe next season... Sitting 2nd in League at end of Feb, just behind West Ham. Brought in Andros Townsend (loan), Mark Davies (loan), and 'Kiko' Femenía (loan).
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 1 December 2011 Posted 1 December 2011 Artem Milevskyi at Celtic. To be fair I'm amazed you've kept so close to him with your budget compared to his. So fvcked off that my 12 doesn't work. So am I. AS said earlier, in the first season he destroyed me, being 18 points clear at one point, mainly as my team just dropped so many points, though towards the end I pulled it right back and another few games and I feel I would have won the league. The budgets are crazy though, I know Rangers are not good financially but really. I even had CL football in the first season and scraped a small profit, whilst he had Europa getting barely any money from it and despite spending then (and now) 500k more on wage budgets he makes a profit. The second season he won his CL group stage and got to the quarter finals raking in well over 12million in fees, etc, whilst I got a million or two from the Europa league. I'm making friendlies with big teams all the time too to get more money in, I have a 60k seater stadium as the board increased it which hit me hard financially too as they even had to cancel the youth facilities upgrade to cover it. Sometimes I think its the best game ever made. Though at times its the most unrealistic. Losing 5-0 away and 4-2 at home to a on par Celtic team just isnt reality. He beats me every time. I dont watch in 3d any more, it makes the defending and goals look worse than on 2d, nothing worse than seeing their defender head the ball all the way up over all your players before their stgriker scores. Gets me so cross.
Bugg Posted 1 December 2011 Posted 1 December 2011 Does anyone else's team's form randomly implode out of nowhere when you're doing so well. Mine does on every single game and ends up with all my players form being "abysmal"

Look how many of us have won a cup first season! Admittedly it's a pretty strong squad you start out with at Leicester but still. The other thing I find odd is that everyone seems to do well in the League Cup, while I usually find it the toughest one to win. For some reason I almost always do better in the FA Cup

The other thing I find odd is that everyone seems to do well in the League Cup, while I usually find it the toughest one to win. For some reason I almost always do better in the FA Cup , I got knocked out of the FA Cup in the 3rd round by Colchester. Mind you, it was my reserves playing. Chelsea had a pretty much reserve team out against me but Liverpool had a strong starting line up including Gerrard, Reina, Johnson, Kuyt, Carroll, Henderson, Henrique etc. Bolton fielded a full strength team in the semi's. I'm not finding the game too easy though as the league is pretty gruelling so far..
lcfc matt Posted 1 December 2011 Posted 1 December 2011 Finding it easy I'm not does anyone have a formation that wins games because I'm doin awful in my first season
Far Post Gerry Posted 2 December 2011 Posted 2 December 2011 Finding it easy I'm not does anyone have a formation that wins games because I'm doin awful in my first season Keep it simple! 4-4-2 with a good balance between attack and defence in midfield. Switch it up to a 4-3-3 if you fancy your chances. Feed Beckford, set Andy King as playmaker, and get Dyer hugging the left touchline. Promotion guaranteed!
AjcW Posted 2 December 2011 Posted 2 December 2011 The best decision I made tactics wise is switching back to classic and creating my own tactic with the sliders. Playing some absolutely beautiful football(my attempt at a barca replica and to be honest its not a million miles away!!) I have had over 60% possesion in every single game this season home and away.

Can you upload this tactic? I'd be interested to try using that in a lower league.
Bugg Posted 2 December 2011 Posted 2 December 2011 In my second season with Charlton Athletic, the first season was some madness with 4 points separating top spot with 9th in the table in the final day with me having to win and Sheffield United to lose for me to take second spot (Huddersfield pipped me to first place but I'll take promotion anyway). In the championship I haven't been given much to spend so I've had to rely on free transfers, Jessim Mahaya, a free from St Etienne has scored 6 goals in his past 6 games so is looking impressive for me adding to the fact that he's only 20 and my scout reckons him as a future good prem striker. My team looks like this; Joe Lewis (free) Mihail Kovacevic (free first season) - Michael Morrison - Andrew Davies (loaned first season but signed for free) - Stephen Jordan (free first season) Gregory Nelson (£75k first season) - Mikel Alonso - Scott Allan (free) - Athirson (free) Jessim Mahaya - Yann Kermorgant I also signed Danny Drinkwater, Jose Capdevila, Ben Mee and Stephane Loboue to strengthen my squad and I'm currently lying in first in the championship after 6 games. I also managednto beat Fulham's full strength team in the league cup 4-1! Promotion could happen for me this season but my squad lacks a bit of depth so I think I might end up losing out due to the standard injury crisis I always get.
