Fox92 Posted 19 November 2011 Posted 19 November 2011 Im in the Coca-Cola Cup final! After loosing 3-1 to Arsenal in the first leg of the semi's at the Emirates, I beat them at the King Power - via a Billy Sharp hat trick!! I'm so happy!! My first cup final of fm2012, I have beaten several Premier League teams and now Leicester, top of the Championship, are in the final to play Manchester City or Chelsea
J.Lisemore Posted 19 November 2011 Posted 19 November 2011 He's been around for a few seasons now. I think Chelsea were hotly linked with him this summer Yeah? I hadn't heard of him until this season. His technical abilities are crazy for his age
Finnegan Posted 19 November 2011 Posted 19 November 2011 Yeah but if I remember correctly he's a complete donkey.
Fox96 Posted 20 November 2011 Posted 20 November 2011 Just 7 games into my second season, i started as Man City First year, i won Community Shield, Champions League and the EURO Super Cup. Also, lost in the final of the League Cup. Finished 2nd in the Prem. Spent over £100 million, buying Jesus Navas, Kaka, Hugo Lloris, Phillip Lahm and Rod Fanni. Not bad, not bad at all...
Finnegan Posted 20 November 2011 Posted 20 November 2011 I've literally never, ever managed a club bigger than Leicester on FM. I've been tempted a couple of times to try like Valencia or Dortmund or someone but I think I'd get bored too quickly. I mean I'd literally consider it a failure if I didn't win the league every year from the off.

(Ukraine) ...wierd but, interesting game.
General Smuts Posted 21 November 2011 Posted 21 November 2011 Had a couple of hours on this last night for the first time in a while. Signed Adam Johnson and Daniel Sturridge for next to nowt and Mattia Destro on loan to boost my striking options. Ten Stegen / Andjular Aurier/Pantsil - Gioda / Wilson - Boilesen / Prestia - Digne / BottinelliJenas / King - Verratti / AdryanDos Santos / Psaume / Iturbe - Johnson / BuonanotteFierro / Sanogo - Borini / Sturridge / Destro Got Gago coming on a free next season too and still hoping to nick Kagawa on a free.
Finnegan Posted 21 November 2011 Posted 21 November 2011 I'd be amazed if you get Kagawa on a free. He ignored me all season until he left Dortmund, once out of contract his agent told me he would listen to my offer before considering it, I offered everything I could and he left the negotiations saying our valuations were miles apart, etc. He then went to Barcelona. Always worth a cheeky punt though, isn't it? Sometimes you just get lucky on FM. I got Gago, though, but I waited until his contract expired with Real Madrid and a month or two went by without anyone signing him and then he came for about 40k less than he originally demanded.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 21 November 2011 Posted 21 November 2011 Been destroyed as Rangers by my mate who is Celtic, he gots a lot of money to spend in comparison to me, and I draw too many as well as relying on the likes of 39yr old Rivaldo. He is 14 points clear at the top with 7 games left, he ahs it won. I will hopefully win the scottish cup though.

Well he made a very reasonable demand of about 29k and I did what I always do, whacked it down to about 22k and they come back with 27.5k and I accept. Instead he came back with 'bugger off'. Will try again once he's out of contract. Saying that I'm not sure i'll really need him. I'm not short of wingers with Johnson, Buonanotte and the majorly in form Dos Santos and i'm looking to bring in Griezmann as soon as I can afford him.
OriginalRobboFOX Posted 21 November 2011 Posted 21 November 2011 I'm in my 2nd season with City after winning the Championship. Currently sitting 13th in the Prem (15th Dec 2012) and doing ok. However, for love nor money I cannot sell Howard, Waggy, Abe, Tunch, Dyer, Konchesky et al. I've offered them out for like £150k but no takers. Need to reduce my wage bill asap. How good are Verratti, Yaisien, and Vicktor Fischer! Managed to get Babacar on loan though for 12 months for £2.2 million fee. Beast. Can anyone recommend any decent, attainable coaches, first team coaches, ass mans as mine are gash.

As for coaches I always set up my training (by copying Finners') and then get coaches with the highest appropriate attribute that I can i.e. Andy Cole for Shooting, Tosh Farrell for Attacking, Darren Wassall for Defending, Antti Niemi for Goalkeeping etc.
shen Posted 21 November 2011 Posted 21 November 2011 Terry McDermott has always been top notch as assistant for me. Apart from Farrell, who ironically is a shooting coach, not attacking, none of those are more than 3,5 star coaches. Unless they've got different stats on yours, Stowell is just as good as Niemi for example. When hiring staff, you need to find those with the highest appropriate stats (e.g. attacking + technical for shooting, defending/attacking + tactical for def/att, mental + technical for ball control while gk, tactical and fitness coaches only have the one key stat) that also have the highest combined 'general' stats for motivation, level of discipline and determination. So for example, Niemi only gets 3,5 stars despite 19 in GK coaching because he only has a combined total of 29 for the three general stats, while Stowell has 37 for those stats, which weigh up his inferior GK coaching. A 'perfect' general coach (i.e. one that has 20 in Determination, LoD and Motivation) and just a fat round average 10 in all specialist stats will get AT LEAST four stars in any coaching category. That's how important general stats are Oh and I'd get Tony Coton as an assistant as he's a 5 star GK coach at the same time and has high motivation, i.e. can take care of teamtalks if you like. If you want tactical advice you can get it from any of your staff members now, so if you just make sure that one of your coaches has a high technical knowledge stat, you can ask for opposition advice from him on match days.
Fox92 Posted 21 November 2011 Posted 21 November 2011 Lost in the Coca-Cola Cup final. 0-1 to Chelsea (118th minute 30-yard strike from Luiz)
General Smuts Posted 21 November 2011 Posted 21 November 2011 Essay I was guessing at names based on last years games (i'm at work not home).
AjcW Posted 21 November 2011 Posted 21 November 2011 Lost in the Coca-Cola Cup final. 0-1 to Chelsea (118th minute 30-yard strike from Luiz) That kid in the crowd must of been having a good day on fifa!!
Fox92 Posted 21 November 2011 Posted 21 November 2011 That kid in the crowd must of been having a good day on fifa!! What?
AjcW Posted 21 November 2011 Posted 21 November 2011 What? It was a gary neville joke on super sunday... sorry assumed it was pretty well documented.
shen Posted 21 November 2011 Posted 21 November 2011 I was guessing at names based on last years games (i'm at work not home). Haha, don't take it badly
leicester4life Posted 22 November 2011 Posted 22 November 2011 Started as Hinckley, 5 games into the season, won all 5 and scored 19, Charles Roger has 12 in 5, 8.96 rating and 3 MotM, and I only said I'd avoid relegation
Simo86 Posted 22 November 2011 Posted 22 November 2011 It was a gary neville joke on super sunday... sorry assumed it was pretty well documented. I knew what you were talking about
General Smuts Posted 22 November 2011 Posted 22 November 2011 Haha, don't take it badly Sorry it's hard to convey tone over the internet! I wasn't taking it badly I was in a rush to get home. I still love you.
Fox92 Posted 23 November 2011 Posted 23 November 2011 Finished my third season, and finally promoted!! Won the Championship with 110 points (fantastic season) which broke the points record held by Reading. Overall, I won the Championship, lost in the Coca-Cola Cup final and lost in the quater-final's of the FA Cup. Not bad really. Team looked like; Kasper Peltier -- Ashley Williams (loan) -- Mills -- Konchesky Albrighton (250k) -- Howson (2.7million) -- Lallana (2.8million) -- Waghorn Sharp (2.5million) -- Ebanks Blake (1.5million) Adam Lallana got 22 assists, Billy Sharp scored 43 goals, Ebanks-Blake also scored of 20. Mills had a good season with 8 goals, and Kasper achieved 19 clean sheets. I had sent Waghorn out for the past two seasons, I felt it was time to give him a chance and he had a very good season (8 goals and 11 assists I think he got). So, I move into the Premier League, just hope I have the quality to stay there. It was a gary neville joke on super sunday... sorry assumed it was pretty well documented. It's ok, I just haven't seen it. I'll have to watch it on youtube or something (if it is on) to get it.
