smudger63 Posted 1 January 2012 Posted 1 January 2012 We were in the top six quickly after he returned. Problem is we haven't won since then and now sit closer to relegation Indeed, and we are now 7 points off the play offs, instead of the 5 points off, that we were when sven was sacked. That, after what on paper at least, looked to be a potentially good month to get our season up and running.
Libertine Dream Posted 1 January 2012 Posted 1 January 2012 I take anything Sringer says with a pinch of salt, most transfers in the summer he knew nothing about or he'd mention them a day after they were on here.
fleckneymike Posted 1 January 2012 Posted 1 January 2012 3 points from Pompey, Peterborough, Ipswich and Doncaster.
5waller5 Posted 1 January 2012 Posted 1 January 2012 3 points from Pompey, Peterborough, Ipswich and Doncaster. I remember in November there was a thread speculating how many points from December .... I honestly couldn't see us dropping a point!!!!! That really was an easy period against the worst collection of teams we are likely to face in a run ... no better opportunity to put some points on the board. Makes the future even more worrying!
MC Prussian Posted 1 January 2012 Posted 1 January 2012 We also have players that appear not to give a shit, take Mills today, looked uninterested, Beckford and his "everyone elses fault but mine" attitude. We have two types of players, the waghorns, nugents, koncheskys etc who play for the shirt, then the "im jermaine beckford, im SSL" trademark willy puller who care more about image rights and think they are bigger than world famous rockstars, Sven has created that, its now upto Nige to sort this shit out. To be fair, both Beckford and Saint-Ledger have been known to have a particular attitude for ages. It's neither a secret nor really down to Eriksson.
Adster Posted 1 January 2012 Posted 1 January 2012 Seriously WTF, I bloody well hope he doesn't go, otherwise we are f**ked. You believe absolutely everything that anyone says Its Stringer, for gods sake. Chill out.
wellyfox Posted 1 January 2012 Posted 1 January 2012 Here you go Other clubs targets?-Schmeichel, Pantsil, St Ledger, Berner, Ball, Fernandes, Moreno, Moussa, Oakley,Johnson,Dyer,Vassell, Schlupp, Beckford Stringer how to make yourself look fvcking stupid lol Fernandes n Johnson loan terminated I agree Kasper yes I can see clubs wanting him. Schlupp out on loan too. Beckford Pantsil and SSL maybe Berner Ball Moreno n Moussa I don't see anyone wanting them we don't and we pay them too much as with Oakley. As for Vassell is he not out on long term injury and if so who the fvck is gonna buy him? and if he was close to returning you would still not risk him in january.
Cruss5 Posted 1 January 2012 Posted 1 January 2012 Do Gally and Nugent get on?? I've only managed to get to 2 games this year (Ipswich,Portsmouth) and both times they exchanged words. Both were when Gally didn't pass to Nugent.

Both were when Gally didn't pass to Nugent. They're supposed to be good mates. Players have a go at each other all the time, as long as it's constructive and they don't carry it on for too long I don't see the problem.
Happy Fox Posted 1 January 2012 Posted 1 January 2012 You believe absolutely everything that anyone says Its Stringer, for gods sake. Chill out. No of course not but if he does go Weale will be in goal and that is a nightmare and a half.

Not an issue as i think you need to have a go at each other sometimes. Its easy to think your doing things right and need mates to bring you back down to earth. I've been playing Basketball for over 20 years now and just started coaching, my players have not got used to me being honest with them during a match yet. But i expect the same back.
J.Lisemore Posted 1 January 2012 Posted 1 January 2012 To be fair, both Beckford and Saint-Ledger have been known to have a particular attitude for ages. It's neither a secret nor really down to Eriksson. All the more reason he shouldn't have signed them both in the first place, which was down to Eriksson. That man has put is in a right mess with the dross he brought in.
Bilbo Posted 1 January 2012 Posted 1 January 2012 Here you go Other clubs targets?-Schmeichel, Pantsil, St Ledger, Berner, Ball, Fernandes, Moreno, Moussa, Oakley,Johnson,Dyer,Vassell, Schlupp, Beckford Cheers mate.
Soar Fox Posted 1 January 2012 Posted 1 January 2012 Tom Kennedy has said he's been recalled by us for the time being.

That man has put is in a right mess with the dross he brought in. Sven would have been able to handle egos, he's had plenty to deal with in his time. NP hasn't has no experience of it as he hasn't managed above our level, so he'll revert to his comfort zone which is young lads from lower leagues - Then he gets respect from them that he can't demand from the more experienced players he's asking to play such dross football.

Sven has never handled any egos, he's simply let them do what they like. It was the same with England, the players called the shots because he couldn't discipline them or make changes if they weren't doing their jobs. Nigel will ship out arseholes and that's a good thing.

You make a good point, but since when do Leicester City need someone with an ego problem such as Beckford and St.Ledger? This is why I'm glad we've got a more down to earth manager in Pearson because he wants people who want to winners, not 'has beens'.

"Has-beens" to me are people like Howard (bless him), Wellens and maybe Michael Ball. All a matter of your own definition, I guess.

Head Honcho Posted 1 January 2012 Posted 1 January 2012 I remember in November there was a thread speculating how many points from December .... I honestly couldn't see us dropping a point!!!!! That really was an easy period against the worst collection of teams we are likely to face in a run ... no better opportunity to put some points on the board. Makes the future even more worrying! I was slated for saying we should be looking for maximum points........and rightly so. My main point was though that if we didn't take a serious number of points then we can forget the play-offs.3 points last month is simply not good enough...............it's actually relegation form!
cc_star Posted 1 January 2012 Posted 1 January 2012 But the thing is, apart from their ego, they can also be pretty brilliant footballers. Just talking about Beckford & SSL? Sven didn't play SSL unless he had to & then Mills & Bamba were restored as they were both available, so the problem would have existed whoever was in charge Beckford? Try finding a Leeds fan with a good thing to say about him, even when he was banging in over 30 a season I think Beckford could be really handy for us & if he wants to be here (he played like he did when he came on yesterday) then he'll have a big part to play as soon as we can get some shape to the rabble of mis-matched, unbalanced players that is impossible to pick a decent 11 out of. Like Kitch said above Sven was a hands-off manager, there was never any consequences for players actions Already NP is shipping one out And if the rumours about Moore & Kennedy being in matchday squads are true, there's going to many more of these sub-standard, workshy, non-acheivers shipped out before he's finished I have every confidence NP will leave no stone unturned in trying to make a silk purse out of this sow's ear of a season. Even players still here from 2 years ago have lost that spirit & die for each other attitude which made them perform better than the sum of their parts We've got just the man to sort it

Even players still here from 2 years ago have lost that spirit & die for each other attitude which made them perform better than the sum of their parts We've got just the man to sort it Sven was trying to establish his own system with his own players, whether he failed or not remains a case for the history books (from my point of view, he was sacked way too early). This system is called rotation. To achieve this, he went for quality cover on every single position. What we have now is yet another "transition period", where we're back to Square One. I do hope things change around for the better, but I've also lost quite some interest in the team and the club over the past few months. Unless we, the fans, as well as the owners finally realize that patience and long-term planning are the keys of getting out of this division, we shall remain put. This season won't end in disaster, but it will end on a sour note and the final league position will be a disappointing (e.g. mediocre) one.
