Mack Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 People follow twitter for football news? Blimey. Since phone hacking came to an 'end' Twitter seems to be the big source for journos.
Matt Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 I'm not sure foxes fans suggesting we lump on Pompey at the bookies is the most healthy attitude. I wasn't going to bother but i've just seen the odds. Pompey 4/1 (Sky Bet)? Wow, you don't see odds like that very often v Leicester. Tempted. The only way i'd be disappointed is a draw (Quite likely, most likely result infact I think) because if Leicester win, great, If Pompey win, although disappointed in my team atleast i've gained out of it. If I do bet on Pompey today and Pompey do win, I'll have profited very well out of Leicester/Pompey games, last season I had a double on Leicester to win the cup game and lose the league game and won a fair bit on it.
Babylon Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 The players can throw their dummies out as much as they want. All it does is highlight to Pearson which ones are a problem and need dumping. As I've said before, Pearson makes a bug point of signing players with the right personality. Unfortunately Sven signed a lot of players who he knew (or maybe didn't know) had previous for getting stroppy. Only a handful have proven themselves good enough so far, the rest can be replaced for all I care.
Guest Col city fan Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 I personally think that Twitter is the biggest lot of Wank going and that any player who routinely 'tweets', or whatever it's called is asking for trouble. Mi missis is always on it, to tell me what Joey Fookin Barton's had for tea or what his opinion on global warming is and the such like. I tend to look back at her and mouth the words 'Thanks babes, but I don't give a fook'... Two things strike me about twitter. Firstly, it make what should be held private into something very public... This must have an impact on the relationship between manager and player and must make running a football club even more difficult. Secondly, rumours could be started about anything by anyone. Who actually knows what to believe anymore? Twitter? A marvel of modern communication or a dangerous medium for rumour and hearsay? Bit of both I guess.. Don't bother me really.. Although, i have threatened to take the missis IPhone and to shove it up her arse if she persists in telling me about what Gok Wan is doing for work at present..

I've gone for the 'Draw no bet', I got Pompey at 5/2. Don't cash in as much if you had them to win outright, but at least you get your money back if it ends a draw.
Head Honcho Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 Pearson's a good enough manager to get the players focused on today's game. I'm not saying we'll win mind as Pompey can play a bit when in the mood..........much like city to be fair. Hopefully he'll have sent SSL to train with the stiffs and he'll do likewise to any other unruly player in the squad. If he selfishly doesn't want to be here for fear of losing his world cup place then sod off back to Preston. As for Gelsen good luck to the fella, his intentions have always seemed honourable. Pearson should use this period of discontent to his advantage. He needs to seriously think about who he's going to keep and who he intends to let go and honestly inform the player of his intentions. Most of us know who is not good enough................so come on Nigel.

Guest Col city fan Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 this is clearly all shit think bert is stirring this up abit tbh Whoops..steady.. Bert is a leg end on here..you'll have people threatening to 'punch you in the face' if you aint careful!! :xmasblink:
Bert Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 Why would I stir shit up? It's all true. Pillock.
Tielemans63 Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 IMHO these problems are the bi-product of Sven's haphazard 'throw more money at 'em' transfer policy. How are we going to get rid of guys like SSL & Beckford when we're paying them so much? To Sven, foresight was to buy two players for each position - not to buy the players to fit in to two or more formations.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 Where are all the people who shouted that Pearson was a God, and would quickly have us in the top six? Tossers!!!
Kitchandro Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 Where are all the people who shouted that Pearson was a God, and would quickly have us in the top six? Tossers!!! Yeh soz, we should all just reminisce about the great Sven and slate all our players and punch our own fans like you. What tossers we are getting behind the manager who got us promoted and then in the play-offs. You are a legend, thank you for putting us right.

To Sven, foresight was to buy two players for each position - not to buy the players to fit in to two or more formations. We also have players that appear not to give a shit, take Mills today, looked uninterested, Beckford and his "everyone elses fault but mine" attitude. We have two types of players, the waghorns, nugents, koncheskys etc who play for the shirt, then the "im jermaine beckford, im SSL" trademark willy puller who care more about image rights and think they are bigger than world famous rockstars, Sven has created that, its now upto Nige to sort this shit out.
Bilbo Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 So did anyone find out which players Stringer listed on BBC Leicester this morning?
Narborough Bod Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 So did anyone find out which players Stringer listed on BBC Leicester this morning? Here you go Other clubs targets?-Schmeichel, Pantsil, St Ledger, Berner, Ball, Fernandes, Moreno, Moussa, Oakley,Johnson,Dyer,Vassell, Schlupp, Beckford
Happy Fox Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 Here you go Other clubs targets?-Schmeichel, Pantsil, St Ledger, Berner, Ball, Fernandes, Moreno, Moussa, Oakley,Johnson,Dyer,Vassell, Schlupp, Beckford Seriously WTF, I bloody well hope he doesn't go, otherwise we are f**ked.
Bert Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 Here you go Other clubs targets?-Schmeichel, Pantsil, St Ledger, Berner, Ball, Fernandes, Moreno, Moussa, Oakley,Johnson,Dyer,Vassell, Schlupp, Beckford This list has been carefully thought out. I mean Vassell? He's out for the season! Wouldn't take it too serious, most names on there are pretty nailed on that we already know are like to be leaving!
Corky Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 Where are all the people who shouted that Pearson was a God, and would quickly have us in the top six? Tossers!!! It took him three games to get us in the top six.
Mack Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 Seriously WTF, I bloody well hope he doesn't go, otherwise we are f**ked. Dont panic! We are recalling Logan!
Brooksy Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 Where are all the people who shouted that Pearson was a God, and would quickly have us in the top six? Tossers!!! We were in the top six quickly after he returned. Problem is we haven't won since then and now sit closer to relegation
Happy Fox Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 Dont panic! We are recalling Logan! Absolute nightmare, I hope Kasper stays he has been consistently been one our best players so far this season.
PAULCFC Posted 1 January 2012 Posted 1 January 2012 If the thais have any ambition Kasper won't be allowed to leave the club.....Nugent as well, the rest including Beckford can go as far as i'm concerned.
Dan Posted 1 January 2012 Posted 1 January 2012 Stringer's a fvcking moron. Our main reporter at BBC Radio Leicester, speculating on what players he thinks will leave. It's not even based on anything, he's guessing things - and as someone high up in terms of Leicester news, that's a massively stupid thing to do. Pearson will be livid at that. It's embarrassing.
