Bert Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 Kasper 6 - a few carnage moments. Made a few decent saves though and his kicks when they came off were decent. Pelts 6 - seemed a bit flat today, still played with same enthusiasm and energy. Konch 7 - a standard Konch performance. Bamba 6 - at fault for the goal, tries doing too much at times. Mills 7 - cant pass, but the boy can defend. King 3 - what is he for? Did next to nothing, missed a glorious chance as well as standing still when we were on the break which broke the attack down. Wellens 5 - played better than he has been. Can't help but think he was brought of to give him a rest for Monday. Abe 6 - busy, but outmuscled a lot. Stuck to his task well though. Gally 6 - Free kicks were spot on, if he had pace he'd be a hell of a player. Schlupp 7 - no fear, positive from the word go, never backed down. Shame he's a bit inexperienced. Nuge 7 - a great header to score, his usual busy self. Unlucky not to get the run of the ball after he anticipated a long ball well. Danns 6 - nice bit of energy when we were lacking it. Beckford 6 - should've had a penalty, made a chance out of nothing too. Decent bit of movement too.
acooling08 Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 I've highlighted my changed in bold, I agree with most of your ratings. Kasper 6 - a few carnage moments. Made a few decent saves though and his kicks when they came off were decent. Pelts 6 - seemed a bit flat today, still played with same enthusiasm and energy. Konch - 6 - Wasn't his usual self, had a few Bamba-esque moments early on that could have cost us. Abe 7.5 - busy, but outmuscled a lot. Stuck to his task well though. Gally 6 - Free kicks were spot on, if he had pace he'd be a hell of a player. Schlupp 6.5 - no fear, positive from the word go, never backed down. Shame he's a bit inexperienced. Faded badly in the second half. Nuge 7 - a great header to score, his usual busy self. Unlucky not to get the run of the ball after he anticipated a long ball well. Danns 5 - Didn't do much. Beckford 5.5 - should've had a penalty, made a chance out of nothing too. Decent bit of movement too.
Fox92 Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 Kasper 6 - A few dodgy moments today, but on hand to save well at times. Peltier 6 Bamba 6 Mills 7 - Better. Konchesky 7 - Solid as usual King 3 - Thought he was at fault for the goal as he wasn't switched on and then he wasn't strong enough to win the ball Wellens 6 - Thought the midfield just went as soon as Wellens came off. Abe 8 - Broke up play very well. Man of the match for me. Gallagher 6 - Deent free kick, but his corners were not as good as what Pearson thought. Schlupp 7 - Started very well, and a constant danger throughout most of the game. Nugent - Don't understand why he came off. Chased everything as usual, and a great header to score.

Bob Weasel Fox Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 Kasper - 6 decent as always Pelts - 6 steady game Mills - 7 good defensively, poor distribution Bamba - 6 steady game ish Konch - 6 steady game Wellens - 5 poor but not as bad as boo boys are making out King - 4 anonymous Gally - 6 steady game Abe - 5 steady but too weak Nugent - 7 good goal, we were poor when he went off Sclupp - 6 good start, faded later SUBS Danns - 5 see Wellens Beckford - 4 waste of space Dyer - not marked as only on for a few minutes Pearson - 3 tactically inept
Guest Basildon Fox Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 From the telly. Kasper - 4 - Got away with so many errors today. Could well have cost us and if Weale had performed like that would have been found hanging from a goalpost next to the Kop. Peltier - 4 - So far off the pace it was embarassing. Mills - 7 - Best defender by a country mile today. Bamba - 5- There is no I in Team. There was one point in the 2nd half where Konchesdky was trapped in the corner with the ball and he stood there watching. Konchesky - 5 - Again all over the place in the first half but improved after the break. Looked incredibly frustrated today. Gallagher - 5 - Good set piece delivery. Little else, King - 4 - Piss poor excuse of a footballer at the moment. What has happened to him. Wellens - 6 - Tried hard but too slow. At least he didn't hide unlike King. Abe - 6 - Tidy enough but ineffective as a player. Nugent - 6 - Scored but did little else. Schlupp - 5 - Started off well but faded badly after Pompey scored. Subs: Danns - 5 - Did nothing of note. Beckford - 6 - Couple of good runs and should have had a penalty. Pearson - 5 - Looks stressed and needs to up his game or his return will be very short lived. I doubt the Thais will be patient enough to wait to give him a full season if results do not improve. As it stands at the moment we need to be looking over our shoulders at the bottom than up to the top. January can not come soon enough.

Father Ted Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 Schmeichel 6 - was all over the place a couple of times. Konchesky 7 - same old reliable Konch. Peltier 6 - not really involved. Mills 7 - I still think he will become a hero one day for us, kept Kitson very quiet. Bamba 4 - struggling to think of anything good he did today. Has now cost us 4 points in 2 games. Cant win a header without fouling his man, gives away stupid fuks and his positioning is atrocious. Abe 7 - very effectively and sat perfectly in front of the back 4. King 4 - anonymous?? Wellens 5 - another slow, frustrating performance. Gallagher 6.5 - good set pieces apart from when he tries fancy shit with Wellens. Did nothing much in open play. Nugent 7 - huffed and puffed and got his goal. Schlupp 7 - MOTM , a player who actually looks dangerous with the ball at his feet. Has pace and can win the ball in the air well enough. Will be a joke if he doesnt start at Palace. Beckford 6 - looked up for it and was dangerous... Danns 6 - better than King and Wellens. Dyer N/A Pearson 6.5 - formation close to spot on, he just never got the midfield right. Starting Schlupp was a good decision.
cc_star Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 Kasper - 4 - Absolute shocker, came into no man's land on 5 occasions, has been awesome, but his form today & last week is worrying. Luck saved us! Peltier - 4 - Another play who's been awesome, but a real shocker today, ineffective going forward & AWOL for their goal & when they hit the post Mills - 6 - Far from great but the only defender on the pitch today, pulled out of position by Pelt's for their goal Bamba - 5 - An individual. Being a CB is all about partnerships, when will a mgr see who will never be a partner to anyone Konch - 5 - Had an OK season, but some shoccking errors at the back today, loses possession going forward through lack of pace & aimless hoofs too Abe - 6 - Did ok with the ball, but for a CDM he's shocking, too easily shrugged off the ball & is nothing more than an annoyance to opposition Wellens - 6 - better from him, still paying the price for not having a useful partner & attempting & failing to do it all. good passes down the channels King - 2 - Like playing with 10 men for 88mins, until he passed to Beckford who ran & shot b4 Kingy got on the rebound Gally - 6 - Some great balls into the box, but no one captilised on any of them, perhaps he should only play when Howard does. Great freekicks, poor corners. Nuge - 7 - Ran & ran, just wish some of it was towards the opposents goal, worked the channels well, but King, Schlupp & Gally didn't exploit space created Schlupp - 5 - Started brightly, but faded. Think the teams needs to have more confidence b4 he starts again. Danns - 4 - Ran around, most of it without the ball. Usual ineffective self, his energy seemed to help a bit though. Beckford - 7 - Looked sharp when he came on, made runs & we looked like doing something, was robbed of a pen Dyer - Too late to make an impact Pearson - Nice changes to the starting formation, personnel not good enough though. Team looks fractured & a load of individuals and he's paying the price for 18mths of Hollywood management. Momentum from substitiutes changed the game & we made a fist of the last 15mins after a woeful 2nd half up until then, needs signings to rid club of the stench of individualism that has grown in his absence.

Finnegan Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 Interesting to hear the same old stuff about Abe being weak again. Thought he was a veritable power-house today compared to Gallagher and King, he got pretty stuck in, battled with people, never shied out of anything. One of his better defensive performances for us today, I thought. Mopped up a lot of loose balls, knicked the ball off more than a few toes. Easily a high seven or an eight in my eyes, MOTM. As an aside, Mills' distribution has stopped being a joke now. Gave the ball away a good 70, 80% of the time. Woeful. He's a solid defender but what's the point when we're just giving possession straight back? Not expecting him to be some cultured playmaker but, seriously, that cross-field punt isn't working for anyone.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 How can you give Beckford a 4?! :xmasblink: He looked very lively when he came on and almost won the game for us. Just my opinion buddy, he has a shocking first touch and much as i hope to have these words rammed down my throat he just isnt the answer, he is a shockingly poor player imo
Mack Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 Kasper 5 - I can only assume the defensive shambles in front of him is getting to him as he could have cost us a goal today on more than one occasion. His worst performance for us. Pelts 6 - He's been a stand out player lately but today he was quiet. Konchesky 6 - Got ripped in the first half, improved in the second. Bamba 6 - I'm not sure what is going on with Bamba, some good some bad today. Mills 3 - Cant pass, gets out of position, gives no motivation to his team as captain, has an attitude problem. King 4 - He's been lost lately and today was no different. Wellens 7 - Ran the game from midfield and was all over the place. I was dumbfounded to see him replaced while King stayed on. We were much weaker in midfield without him today. Abe 6 - Was put just in front on the defence to cancel out the threat of Norris and did the job well. His passing is nothing to write home about. Gally 6 - His set pieces look useful, he has no threat as a genuine wide player and does not have the ability to beat a man and get a ball in. Schlupp 6 - Got bullied all over the place by the old heads in the Pompey defence but kept on trying and made some nice runs. Nugent 7 - Took his goal well, worked hard alone up front and got little support. Danns 4 - Really disappointed. Was gagging to see him play centrally and he had his chance and did nothing apart from leave his foot in a few times and get booked Beckford 4 - It's not going to work. He needs to move on and get a fresh start and we need something else in attack.
Rajy Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 Kasper 5 - Great keeper but his decision making still scares me Peltier 6 Bamba 5 Not one of his better games, just needs to try and keep it simple sometimes Mills 7 - Did his job defensively and actually played a few decent long balls today Konchesky 7 - Solid King 6 - Drifted through the game as per and did a decent job disrupting play and looked a bit better going forward Wellens 6 - Not the root of all things bad! Abe 8 - Swept up the 2nd ball which allowed us to go forward a bit more unlike with ipswish, motm for me Gallagher 6 - Good dead balls today, didn't really see much else Schlupp 7 - Put their defence under a lot of pressure, should start next game Nugent 7 - His usual performance with a lot of effort Danns 5 - Didnt do much when he came on Beckford 6 - Looked a bit sharper when he came on and was unlucky not to get a peno
Salieri Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 Just my opinion buddy, he has a shocking first touch and much as i hope to have these words rammed down my throat he just isnt the answer, he is a shockingly poor player imo Fair enough but whatever you may think of him in general the mark should reflect how he did in the game, I thought he did pretty well. Like you say, your opinion though. :xmaswink:
Fox92 Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 Wellens 7 - Ran the game from midfield and was all over the place. I was dumbfounded to see him replaced while King stayed on. We were much weaker in midfield without him today. I agree with that. People are quick to critisize him, but oh my, I think we look weaker without him as well. Interesting to hear the same old stuff about Abe being weak again. He's a solid defender but what's the point when we're just giving possession straight back? Not expecting him to be some cultured playmaker but, seriously, that cross-field punt isn't working for anyone. Agree with that. I thought he was man of the match as well, hence my ratings.
Libertine Dream Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 Kasper 5- too eratic today at times, there keeper was steady which filled their back four with confidence Peltier 5- No spark and looked suspect at times Mills 6- Some of his distribution was good and he defended okay against a difficult Number 9. Bamba 4- A mess Konch 5- Bamba seemed to effect him Abe 7- Did his job well, broke up play well without the support of his fellow midfielders Wellens 4- Too slow, no forward passing and didn't support Abe King 5- Went missing too often but linked up well on occasion Gallagher 7- Some good balls in today and seemed to have some determination Schlupp 6- Started well but faded Nugent 6- Difficult today, needs the service and a strike partner Subs: Danns 5- didn't do much but should start there in the next game Beckford 5- Better, he's not Nugent and doesn't work but give him the ball to run and he'll create something, twice did that today. Trying too hgard when he has the ball though and not hard enough with the ball Dyer N/A NP's interview at the end was spot on for me and if you can't see his frustration then you really have no clue. He'll turn it around for next season.
kingfox Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 Schmeichel 5 - Had nothing much to do, but looked off and his kicking at times was poor Peltier 5 - Was hardly in the game, has been excellent but was nowhere to be seen today Mills 6 - Overrated, good defending at times, but he can't pass and his hoofing is absolutely shite Bamba 6 - Looked shaky first half, but was his dominate self in the second half Konchesky 6 - Same as Bamba struggled first half defensively, but improved in second Abe 8 - Incredible shift, put his head on the line and read the game well again Wellens 6 - Better than previous games, but still not good enough for too negative King 6 - In and out of the game again, but thankfully he had some chances Schlupp 7 - This kid deserved to start, and showed signs of quality Gallagher 4 - Set pieces were good, but in and around the field by far our worst player Nugent 7 - Good header, ran his socks off again, players should take at look and learn from his passion Subs Danns 6 - Needs to be played in central midfield, and looked ok in that position two decent efforts aswell Beckford 5 - Cannot play with his back to goal, but when facing forward caused problems Dyer - N/A

thrillbert Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 Kasper 5 - Decent overall, but once again seemed to be responsible for a defensive mixup that could have cost us a goal. I do worry about his ability to communicate in those situations after last week. Kicking was quite poor too, I thought Peltier 6 - Hasn't been as energetic for a few weeks now. I didn't see him in the opposition half as much as I would have liked, but he was solid defensively. I do wish he had made a bit more of a physical presence felt to that tw*t Mattock. Konchesky 7 - Energetic, attacking, and with good anticipation and positional sense. I really rate him. Bamba 7 - Seemed to be everywhere. No Marauding runs like last week, but dominated their forward players in every encounter on the ground. His heading is starting to worry me, as is the suggestion it was his fault for the goal. I was in the kop so I would have to see it again. Mills 7 - Wasteful in possession, which is all the more frustrating when the midfield made more of an effort to be available for a short option. The fact that his Hollywood passes sometimes come off doesn't mean he should keep doing them. As others have mentioned, he was excellent defensively. King 5 - Still not back to his usual self, but was fairly busy. Involved in a couple of phases of one touch passing and did a lot of work tracking back. Still no sign of being a threat in the box or running forward though, which is a concern. At least he seemed less mono-paced this week. On the up, and definitely better as part of a three Wellens 5 - Busy, but with little end result. Tracked back and covered space well (with Abe), but I refuse to give him more than 5 after that shocking moment when he should have shot but didn't have the balls. I am not his biggest fan, but I think a well rested and positive Wellens is an asset. Today he was a little too anxious in possession for me. Abe 7 - Another good performance from Yuki, which hopefully reminds a few on here of what we have been missing these past few weeks. Even had a decent strike that was only just kept out. Time and time again Yuki was there making a crucial interception or jockeying their players wide. It was him who got back and defended when Bamba was injuried, and in my mind saves us a few goals a season easily. When he recovers the ball he plays it quickly and to feet, and that to me is the sign of an intelligent footballer Gally 5 - Good deliveries but backed out of too many challenges and headers and didn't give us enough width. Went missing second half too. I can see why NP likes him, but for me he is not suited to being part of a front three. I would prefer to see a front three of Nugent, Beckford and Schlupp. Schlupp 7 - Really pleased that he started, and took his chance well. Direct, pacey, and dangerous. A little inexperienced when it came to taking players on, but how exciting to see a confident forward scaring defences. Will only get better. Nuge 7 -Looked like he enjoyed his goal, and was a constant threat. A little unlucky with his control at times, and took up some good positions only to not be picked out by his teammates. Still, a very positive performance from a player who has stood out for us this season. Danns 6 - Looked lively and up for it when he came on. I think his energy and dynamism could be a good replacement for Kingy's apparent lethargy in the next game. His touch is a little rusty, and his long/medium passing doesnt seem that great, but he makes up for that with tenacity and a winning mentality, which I think we sometimes lack. Beckford 7 - Disgusting reaction from our fans when he came on. Genuinely embarrassed and ashamed. Clearly trying to find his feet in this league with our set up and being done no favours by all the negativity around him. Apart from anything the guy clearly has talent, as his run towards the end showed. Others are right that he should have won a penalty, too. I say play him down the middle surrounded by the energy and guilde of nugent and the pace of Schlupp/Dyer and see what he can do.
Karljohn Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 Schmeichel - 5 Some terrible decisions today, wasteful at times with kicks and let off the hook when Halfords header hit the post. Peltier 6 Lacking the energy and tenacity that he showed earlier in the season Mills 5 Found touch with headers and long passes, technically no better than what we had with Hobbs, doesnt organise and looks generally like he doesnt want to be here Bamba 5 Car crash performance Konchesky 6.5 Give him the armband Abe 7 - Threw himself around today for the cause, got stuck in. Wellens 4.5 - He wouldnt shoot if he had a fooking penalty, substandard league one garbage. King 4.5 - Take whatever we can in January if anyones interested, he was absolutely knackered after 60 minutes, panting like a dog trying to defend a corner. Gallagher 5 - Good delivery for the goal but an absolute fairy, pulls out of tackles and shows very little determination. Nugent 6.5 - Baffled as to why he was replaced, took the goal well, worked hard Schlupp 5 - amazed he got 85 minutes, looked lively early on but faded badly
Yojoe36 Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 Kasper 5- Fvcking hell!! Pelts 7 Bamba 6 - MISTAKES, but got a bit better as the game progressed Mills 7 Konch 8 - Awesome King 6 - I noticed him more today., but still wasn't fully "with it" Wellens 3- Derp. Abe 7.5 - Fvcking lovely Gally 6 - WEAK!! But better crossing today Schlupp 8 - Don't send him out on loan!!!! Nugent 7 Beckford 6 Danns 6 Dyer N/A
BahsonGav Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 Kasper : 6 - Steady, no great dramas, should have been punished in 1st half though with that back post flap! Peltier : 7 - Always tries to get forward, does nothing wrong, Mr consistent! Konch : 6 - Worst game this season I have seen him play. Not bad, just made more errors than usual and looked a bit stressed! Bamba : 7 - Seems it was just me, but I thought Sol was solid. A physical presence and dominated aerial threat. Still panics we when on ball though! Mills : 6 - Just OK for me. Needs to dominate more, lost his man twice at defensive corners but was not punished. Distribution Piss Poor!! Wellens: 5 - mmmm.... Started OK, tried to get on the ball and make things tick, but just hasn't got it at the mo (anymore?) - ZERO creativity and Zero forward thrust! King : 3 - Sorry to say but completely anonymous. What has gone wrong here?? Abe : 7 - Good game in the holding role. Got the foot in when it counted and was our best passer - although rarely forward!(but he is our def Mid player) Gallagher : 5 - In the team for his set pieces only - does absolute Jack Shit else! Schlupp : 6 - Good start, looked lively and wanting to impress. Faded badly second half - should have been subbed earlier for Beckford (give him another go though!) Nugent : 7 - Our only goal scoring threat. Ran his bits off again - why can't they all try as hard??? Danns : 5 - Did little of any note Beckford : 7 - At least he looked as though he wanted to play when he came on. Pace was a threat and could very easily have got us a pen. If he was full of confidence however, he would have taken that ball and driven straight at goal instead of looking for the Penalty. Dyer : n/a
eastendfox Posted 31 December 2011 Posted 31 December 2011 Kasper 6 - some good, some terrible Peltier 6 - at least looks like he wants to play for us Mills 3 - Don't get the Mills marks above, he barely put a tackle in, let players past continuously, and put his fellow defenders under pressure by doing nothing. Looked disinterested and like he should be dropped. Maybe he will become a hero one day, but only once he stops counting the money and trying to earn it Bamba 5 - Terrible first half, superb second Konchesky 4 - Terrible first half, better second Abe 7 - Consistently bailed out the defence and midfield, very tired by the end King 5 - He at least tries and keeps busy, but wasn't happening for him Wellens 4 - As all the play is supposed to go through him he needs to be able to pass. Today he couldn't Gallagher 6 - Thought he did ok, set pieces were good at least Schlupp 6 - Started well, stick with him, will grow better provided the midfield plays well Nugent 8 - Man of the match, tireless, great finish, appears to enjoy his football and want to play for us Danns 4 - Little to suggest he's the answer to anything Beckford 5 - Suddenly came alive with a couple of runs, he could yet come good for us Dyer 4 - Couldn't see the point, why not bring on Howard for the last five minutes?
