Kasper 5 - Decent overall, but once again seemed to be responsible for a defensive mixup that could have cost us a goal. I do worry about his ability to communicate in those situations after last week. Kicking was quite poor too, I thought

Peltier 6 - Hasn't been as energetic for a few weeks now. I didn't see him in the opposition half as much as I would have liked, but he was solid defensively. I do wish he had made a bit more of a physical presence felt to that tw*t Mattock.

Konchesky 7 - Energetic, attacking, and with good anticipation and positional sense. I really rate him.

Bamba 7 - Seemed to be everywhere. No Marauding runs like last week, but dominated their forward players in every encounter on the ground. His heading is starting to worry me, as is the suggestion it was his fault for the goal. I was in the kop so I would have to see it again.

Mills 7 - Wasteful in possession, which is all the more frustrating when the midfield made more of an effort to be available for a short option. The fact that his Hollywood passes sometimes come off doesn't mean he should keep doing them. As others have mentioned, he was excellent defensively.

King 5 - Still not back to his usual self, but was fairly busy. Involved in a couple of phases of one touch passing and did a lot of work tracking back. Still no sign of being a threat in the box or running forward though, which is a concern. At least he seemed less mono-paced this week. On the up, and definitely better as part of a three

Wellens 5 - Busy, but with little end result. Tracked back and covered space well (with Abe), but I refuse to give him more than 5 after that shocking moment when he should have shot but didn't have the balls. I am not his biggest fan, but I think a well rested and positive Wellens is an asset. Today he was a little too anxious in possession for me.

Abe 7 - Another good performance from Yuki, which hopefully reminds a few on here of what we have been missing these past few weeks. Even had a decent strike that was only just kept out. Time and time again Yuki was there making a crucial interception or jockeying their players wide. It was him who got back and defended when Bamba was injuried, and in my mind saves us a few goals a season easily. When he recovers the ball he plays it quickly and to feet, and that to me is the sign of an intelligent footballer

Gally 5 - Good deliveries but backed out of too many challenges and headers and didn't give us enough width. Went missing second half too. I can see why NP likes him, but for me he is not suited to being part of a front three. I would prefer to see a front three of Nugent, Beckford and Schlupp.

Schlupp 7 - Really pleased that he started, and took his chance well. Direct, pacey, and dangerous. A little inexperienced when it came to taking players on, but how exciting to see a confident forward scaring defences. Will only get better.

Nuge 7 -Looked like he enjoyed his goal, and was a constant threat. A little unlucky with his control at times, and took up some good positions only to not be picked out by his teammates. Still, a very positive performance from a player who has stood out for us this season.

Danns 6 - Looked lively and up for it when he came on. I think his energy and dynamism could be a good replacement for Kingy's apparent lethargy in the next game. His touch is a little rusty, and his long/medium passing doesnt seem that great, but he makes up for that with tenacity and a winning mentality, which I think we sometimes lack.

Beckford 7 - Disgusting reaction from our fans when he came on. Genuinely embarrassed and ashamed. Clearly trying to find his feet in this league with our set up and being done no favours by all the negativity around him. Apart from anything the guy clearly has talent, as his run towards the end showed. Others are right that he should have won a penalty, too. I say play him down the middle surrounded by the energy and guilde of nugent and the pace of Schlupp/Dyer and see what he can do.

Agree with all that.

Schmeichel 5 - Dodgy

Peltier 4 - Dodgier

Mills 5 - Fine defensively, pub player in possession.

Bamba 5 - Gone off the boil.

Konchesky 5 - His worst performance in a blue shirt. Still probably our best defender today though, which speaks volumes.

Abe 7 - Busy.

King 3 - Crap.

Wellens 5 - Faster in possession but still not good enough.

Schlupp 6 - Best player on the pitch in the first half, not involved in the second.

Nugent 6 - Well-taken goal, otherwise huffed and puffed to little effect, as per.

Gallagher 6 - Free-kicks great, corners rubbish. How on earth is that possible?

subs:

Danns 5 - No better than what was already on, but increased the tempo slightly.

Beckford 5 - Felt a bit sorry for him today; that pass to nobody wasn't clever but there ought to have been somebody there. First touch is not good enough, but that's not new.

Dyer n/a - why bother?

Kasper - 4 - Absolute shocker, came into no man's land on 5 occasions, has been awesome, but his form today & last week is worrying. Luck saved us!

Peltier - 4 - Another play who's been awesome, but a real shocker today, ineffective going forward & AWOL for their goal & when they hit the post

Mills - 6 - Far from great but the only defender on the pitch today, pulled out of position by Pelt's for their goal

Bamba - 5 - An individual. Being a CB is all about partnerships, when will a mgr see who will never be a partner to anyone

Konch - 5 - Had an OK season, but some shoccking errors at the back today, loses possession going forward through lack of pace & aimless hoofs too

Abe - 6 - Did ok with the ball, but for a CDM he's shocking, too easily shrugged off the ball & is nothing more than an annoyance to opposition

Wellens - 6 - better from him, still paying the price for not having a useful partner & attempting & failing to do it all. good passes down the channels

King - 2 - Like playing with 10 men for 88mins, until he passed to Beckford who ran & shot b4 Kingy got on the rebound

Gally - 6 - Some great balls into the box, but no one captilised on any of them, perhaps he should only play when Howard does. Great freekicks, poor corners.

Nuge - 7 - Ran & ran, just wish some of it was towards the opposents goal, worked the channels well, but King, Schlupp & Gally didn't exploit space created

Schlupp - 5 - Started brightly, but faded. Think the teams needs to have more confidence b4 he starts again.

Danns - 4 - Ran around, most of it without the ball. Usual ineffective self, his energy seemed to help a bit though.

Beckford - 7 - Looked sharp when he came on, made runs & we looked like doing something, was robbed of a pen

Dyer - Too late to make an impact

Pearson - Nice changes to the starting formation, personnel not good enough though. Team looks fractured & a load of individuals and he's paying the price for 18mths of Hollywood management. Momentum from substitiutes changed the game & we made a fist of the last 15mins after a woeful 2nd half up until then, needs signings to rid club of the stench of individualism that has grown in his absence.

Completely agree with pretty much all of that except Bamba who was as good as Mills today

Wellens 7 - Ran the game from midfield and was all over the place. I was dumbfounded to see him replaced while King stayed on. We were much weaker in midfield without him today.

You're either a relative of his or a rent boy. He was p!ss-poor again today, although he did at least put in some effort.

Glad to see people on here can acknowledge the work that Abe puts in, the blokes next to me are always calling him a "shit c*nt" and telling him to go back to where he came from. Makes me feel sick.

I'll bite.

He ran the game today while he was on, and that showed even more when he went off as we looked totally lost in the middle. Why King was not taken off for Danns I haven't a clue as in comparison he did very little.

Even Alan Young said the same about Wellens on the radio after the game, which he pre empted with the comment "I wont be popular for saying this." so you and you Wellens hater mates must now be well known amongst the inner sanctum.

That will be the divs who cheered when he got subbed.

Maybe you switched over to watch manure once too often to notice his positive effect on our play?

p.s. Yes I am a rent boy and will smash your back passage until you are screaming for Wellens to be CAPTAIN!

I know what you mean, I was sat next to a complete pair of mouth-breathers who spent the entire game slagging off Abe. Whinging about him being 'lightweight' and 'weak' when he went down and won a free kick after being fouled by 2 players. Complaining when he didn't beat Kitson in the air. Said fook all when Abe did get the ball off Kitson and that other hefty guy they had upfront. Cockends. :glare:

Smeichel -7 need's to calm down a bit at time's and choose his targett's when kicking out much better.

Peltier------6 very lacklustre today

Mills--------7 passing needs improvement but he did quite well

Bamba-----7 saved us a few time's but seemed a bit flat today

Konchesky-7 got caught dallying on the edge of our box first half that caused absolute panic in the defence

Abe---------7 the odd stray pass but was very good for us today

Wellens---6 better today but some bad decisions in the second half, looked tired before being subbed.

King--------6 better today but looks off the pace still though he did have some shot's on target that if he was in form , would have been buried.

Gallagher-6

Schlupp---8 worked his socks off and really got at them

Nugent----8 scored again and worked hard, their defence and midfield picked up a good few yellows fouling our forwards.

.....

Dyer-------didnt really do much so i'm not going to bother scoring him

Beckford-6 getting better

Danns----6 same Danns XD

Kasper - 6 - Decent couple of saves, bit shaky at times.

Peltier - 6 - Couple quality deliveries that no one got to, pretty average defensively.

Bamba - 6 - Mostly quite solid but a couple of mishaps

Mills - 6 - pretty solid but awful distribtution

Konch - 7 - Steady performance

King - 3 - Made one or two good runs that went un-noticed but was completely absent. Can't remember a worse performance of his.

Wellens - 5.5 - Better than he has been recently but characteristically too slow and wasteful in posession.

Abe - 7 - Solid shift, tidied up for the other two on numerous occasions.

Gally - 6 - Some very good deliveries but apart from that very average. As always ducked out of tackles and aerial challenges.

Schlupp - 6.5 - A few sparks of quality but not nearly involved as much as he should be. Probably not all his fault.

Nugent - 7 - Good header for the goal and industrious as ever, but occasionally sloppy and was feeding off scraps.

Beckford - 6.5 - Showed a couple of flashes of what we need to do, i.e. run at teams, take people on and attack more directly.

Danns - 6 - Can't actually recall anything he did. Not sure whether I should even mark him..

Dyer - n/a- on for 6 minutes and got one touch

Some people around me were saying he was shit lol He has played quality in both games he has started!

How can you give Beckford a 4?! :xmasblink:

He looked very lively when he came on and almost won the game for us.

Agree - not Beckfords biggest fan but at least he made something happen - seems to effect the game more when he is in a wider position and cutting in

Kasper 4.5 One good save but he had his worst game for us today and could have cost us at least two goals. Some of his kicking is terrible.

Konchesky 5 Good effort levels but was terrible in the first half. Second half was much better and was let down by his team mates who consistently failed to give him a passing or throwing option.

Bamba 5 At fault for their goal and didn't seem reliable today. Personally if any club offered 1-2m I'd take it.

Mills 5 No worse than Bamba but consistently turned on the floor and he simply can't pass the ball. He's too slow and isn't good enough. Another I'd consider selling if a decent replacement could be found.

Peltier 4 Awful today. Looks in need of a rest but then our back up isn't any good. Consistently out of position today.

Abe 6 He did some good things but he'll never be a match winner. Bullied off the ball far too easily. Busy performance.

Wellens 5 Not as bad a some would say but he's too slow on the ball and seems to have lost what little running speed he once had. Need to get a better replacement.

King 5 Personally I thought he was a little better today playing further up the pitch and had a couple of good chances to score. His overall game though isn't good enough and he's another I'd move on if we can get a better replacement.

Gallagher 5.5 Take away a couple of very good free kicks and his contribution would be largely woeful. A luxury player we can't afford at the moment.

Schlupp 6 Worked hard but didn't really do enough for me to justify a start next time out.

Nugent 7 Very well taken goal and not bad overall display. One of the few players who is a certain starter for me.

Danns 3 Sorry but this guy is useless. Says something when the midfield actually looked worse when he replaced Wellens. Sell him.

Beckford 6 Didn't work the line hard enough but did a couple of good things when the service to him was good. Should have had a penalty but took the wrong option in the first place.

Dyer n/a Not on long enough but he's not good enough anyway.

Pearson tactics were awful. Subs too late. Big big job on his hands here.

Schmeichel- 5 (Shaky, uncertain)

Peltier- 5 (Didn't offer too much going forward)

Bamba- 6 (Couple of scares, did well on other occasions)

Mills- 5 (Struggling)

Konchesky- 6 (First half wasn't good, second much better. Understandably got fed up with the lack of options available)

Gallagher- 6 (Good cross for the goal)

King- 5 (Not quick enough or dynamic)

Wellens- 5 (Better than before but still frustrating and wasteful)

Abe- 7 (Best player, got stuck in and won a lot in midfield)

Schlupp- 6 (Started very brightly but faded)

Nugent- 6 (Good goal, tested the Portsmouth defence)

Posted

Schmeichel 5 - Had some very dodgy moments today. probably his worst performance so far

Peltier - 7 I really rate Pelts he's playing well for us, few bad moments but overall he played well.

Mills 6 - Solid but had a few mistakes

Bamba 6 - Same as Mills

Konchesky 5 - IMO one of the best players we have had so far but I thought he played quite poor today.

Gallagher 7 - Good set pieces today and seemed to move about quickly.

Abe 7 - Started to like him lately always seems to get stuck in.

King 5 - Where has our Andy King gone? He'll return soon!

Wellens 7 - Getting some very unfair stick on here I thought he was and has been one of our better players recently!

Nugent 8 - Love this guy, great header too!

Schlupp 6.5 - Was nice to finally see somebody other than Beckford start but disappeard in the second half.

Beckford 4 - Other than the little run and the BLATANT penalty I still think he was very poor, he doesn't move at all and it's really frustrating!

Danns 5.5 - He sort of seems as if he wants to play for the shirt..Maybe it is just me? Played well when he came on

Dyer 4 - I geniunely cannot remember anything he did :P

Referee - 4 Wasn't as bad as some of the clowns we have had lately but he was still poor.

Posted

Its come to something when Abe is our most tenacious player, how far have we fallen ? king looks like he's on rohypnol..wellens must be slobbering over pearsons bellend to still be in the team.

Posted

Schmeichel - 6 - As usual some decent stops but looked somewhat shaky when called upon

Peltier - 5 - Positioning was poor and very little in attempts to get back when possession was lost.

Mills - 5 - Turned too easily a couple of times and poor distribution - other than that not much wrong.

Bamba - 5 - How he got away with most he did today I'll never know - not up to the form he's set so far this season.

Konchesky - 6 - Got forward well but slightly iffy in the first half and unsupported in the second.

King - 4 - Peripheral to say the least.

Wellens - 5 - Better than recent performances but still utter garbage.

Abe - 8 - Got stuck in and carried the midfield.

Gallagher - 6 - Good set-pieces, nothing else.

Nugent - 7 - good goal, chased well but pretty much no support

Schlupp - 6 - Started well but faded after Mattock committed GBH on him.

Subs:

Beckford - 6 - Far more interested than I've seen so far, IF he plays like that more often he'll start to justify the money spent on him.

Danns - 5 - Fairly quiet.

Dyer - N/A.

Kasper 5.5 (Made quite a difficult save look easy from a grubber and Nugent might also have plundered a goal from one of his kicks but was not his usual focused self and made several errors of judgement that might have cost us goals. Even his positioning looked off today at times.

Konchesky 6 (First half was littered with uncharacteristic errors but he stuck at it, kept pushing himself forward and at least deserved credit for a much better second half).

Bamba 5.5 (Partly to blame for their goal but did well to prevent Portsmouth scoring after Danns daft shot. I not felt the centre of our defence has looked sound for a while and today was no exception. Inconsistent in possession too.)

Mills 4 (How long can we accept constant wasting of possession through playing hopeful searchlight passes to no-one in particular. Even defensively we seem vulnerable in the centre. Tunchev must wonder what he's done wrong).

Peltier 4 (All his promise seems to have disappeared. Leaves us vulnerable in the air on the back post and is no longer offering the support we need going forward. Never really got hold of Mattock either. The lad is nothing if not persistent and Peltier didn't deal with that. Schlupp certainly did his stint but Peltier hardly made his presence felt at all).

Abe 5 (He just didn't provide the answer for us as a defensive midfielder. Yes he's industrious but he doesn't have any strengths. He's not a great tackler, passer, header or thinker. He's not even a good shunter in the manner of Neil Lennon or Peter Reid. We lack presence in the position and the sooner we do something about it the better. Yes, he'd be better in a passing side but he's still lacking what we need).

Wellens 5 (It's all been said, I don't think he and King compliment each other and today was no different. He huffs and puffs but the batteries are running down).

King 6 (Just fairly average. Might have scored from Nugent's leave but shot at the keeper, was thwarted by a last ditch block in front of goal and it was a pity he and Schlupp went for the same ball on the far post so that neither got chance to have a pop on goal. Retained possession well enough when he got the chance but was never going to shine with the ball in the air so muich and with Mills in particular being so willing to bypass midfield altogether and Peltier so often nowhere to be seen in terms of support).

Gallagher 6 (This bloke is so frustrating. His general contribution leaves us lacking but once again he delivered free-kick from which Nugent headed a textbook goal to earn us a point. Indeed, in recent weeks it is only his isolated flourishes that have saved at least some of our self respect.).

Schlupp 6 (Wasted a bit but made a decent contribution in his first proper opportunity under Pearson. Had an early effort and might have scored had he not been involved in a mix-up with King close to goal).

Nugent 7.5 (Textbook headed goal - something of a collectors item for any Leicester player this season. might have had another from Kasper's long punt and worked with enthusiasm. His scoring rate has been excellent considering the limied supply from all quarters) .

Danns 3 (His only notable contribution was a ridiculously optimistic shot from the wrong place and at the wrong time. Left himself and four or five team-mates completely isolated and might easily have cost us a goal. In a Leicester shirt he's been a non-stop anti-climax).

Beckford 6.5 (Should have won a penalty when inducing a clear foul. I really do wonder if officials, including linesmen, ever have their eyes tested because so many clear infringements go unpunished especially when they're inside the box.).

Dyer 6 (One threatening pull back near the end almost produced a goal but we don't have players with the instinct to latch onto such chances). .

Altogether we still had too many players failing to make suficient impression and one or two normally decent performers falling below their usual standards.

Nugent was clearly man of the match with what was an average display. We all know Pearson has had limited options so far but there's lots of managers would be getting more out of even this squad than is being seen at present.

I don't think it's all down to individual ability either, though we really do have alarming shortcomings. I just don't think the team is functioning as one nor is it flexible enough.

There's no energy or efforvescence and that all indicates a lack of confidence and individuals succumbing to the pressure of expectation. Much of that can only be allayed by the manager. For me he must get at least seven/eight players out of 11 putting in a respectable 6/7 rated performance and we've been nowhere near that for a month now.

Schmeichel 4 - worst performance so far

Peltier 5 - made to look a mug to often

Mills 6 - distribution is terrible tbh

Bamba 4 - at fault for the goal, all over the place, needs to start thinking about the team rather than himself

Konchesky 4 - very poor today but not helped by either the centre back next to him or the midfield in front of him

Gallagher 6 - Better but still not whats needed.

Abe 8 - Thought he played very well, only player we have dominant in the middle

King 4 - Far far too many of these games now.

Wellens 6 - Improved but again, still not good enough.

Nugent 7 - Decent performance, great header.

Schlupp 6 - Started very well but soon found out by his marker, long way to go yet and again, not the answer for a side going up.

Beckford 5 - Another one who I cant imagine playing next to, must be awful, should have won a penalty.

Danns 2 - I've just never seen anything like this guy, can't tackle, can't pass, can't shoot. A really dreadful signing.

Why do people give Abe such a low score all the time?

If it wasn't for him we would of lost both of the last 2 games. He is the player that when bamba and mills go up fronts stays back and mops up. A couple of times on saturday he fell over but was straight back up hassling the player.

In fact he was the only player who hassled any of the opposition.

Bamba is one of the few players that has a bit of heart, he will always stick his head in for the ball and loses the ball less than people think, if you add up the amount of times mills loses the ball by hoofing it into the middle of nowhere you'll see that bamba actually keeps the ball and creates more than most.

Our midfield isn't bad, i just think that they are fed up with being bypassed. If we want to play that ball then put bamba up front or play howard.

Gally needs to be dropped, he is terrible for the team, refuses to defend and is scared to head the ball. Probably didn't want to mess his hair up in front of the cameras!!! Stringer and Pearson both have man love for him.

Schlupp did ok, he did track back even though someone earlier in the post said he didn't. A couple of times he was at right back. But again it boiled down to the long ball.

Give Danns a go as he has plenty of energy
