ithuriel Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 Careful, you'll be accused of being a troll Shush troll
stillwater Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 Sven International Manager, Silverware at at club level. Pearson Championship manager silverware at League 1 Think the knee jerk reaction by the Thais has seriously backfired
Haydos Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 It's just odd how all the people clamouring for Pearson seem to have gone into hiding. I was slightly underwhelmed when he was reappointed but I came round to it and told myself it could be a pretty decent appointment. Now he's here and seem to have got worse, all the people calling for Sven out and Pearson in seem to have gone into hiding.

I remain very happy that we have sacked Sven and got Pearson back.. Evolution, not revolution and all that..
Haydos Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 Who's gone into hiding? I remain very happy that we have sacked Sven and got Pearson back.. Evolution, not revolution and all that.. There were too many to count saying how good a move it is. I haven't seen anything to inspire any confidence yet (I suppose all those who wanted Sven out will only say we made shit signings and that'll cover their arse for a while). I'm not knee jerking, i'm happy to give him the rest of this season at the very least but we're going to need to show some sign of improvement in the near future.
Fox92 Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 Who's gone into hiding? I remain very happy that we have sacked Sven and got Pearson back.. Evolution, not revolution and all that.. And, that makes two of us... I'm not hiding either.
wellyfox Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 Yes Sven was sh!t; tactically inept, couldn't motivate, brought in rubbish. As George Carin once said, 'Rubbish in, Rubbish out' This so makes me piss Tactically we did not play boring football under Sven. We won't put 3 past sotton with NP in charge. Motivation the squad look less like they want to play now than they did under Sven. Ego's NP lovers said he won't put up with it he'll sort em out. Richie you look tired take an extra day off every week (That fvcking sorted it did'nt it ) Rubbish Well if you check the summer threads everyone was saying what great buy's they all where. None of ya fvckers slagged him when he was spending it. But hey whats a little hind sight amongst friends. Oh and NP's 2 fvcking wonder boy's are probably the least performers of the lot. And Wellen's performance's have gone down hill all the more since he got his extra day off. Oh but I guess thats ok cos NP gave him the extra fvcking day off on stuppid fvcking money. lol
alanf0x Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 Yes, he was that bad! Look at the mess of the squad that he has left Nigel with.....
cc_star Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 Drawing games we should win, playing boring uninspired football and no playoffs on the horizon.... the exact opposite of what we had when Sven was in charge what planet are you on I've never been so bored as all the sideways 5yrd passes under Sven, it was the most insipid crap I've ever seen Cov away were were shit, got even worse Vs Brizzle & Reading at home, as the season continued we got even worse Vs Barsly, Cardiff & Brum and finally Millwall where were put out of our misery there is only 1 game where we looked good & that was Derby at home, who never put a single tackle in during the whole 90mins (just like the first 45mins last season at their place) Can we play teams who don't tackle every week? No Sven won 7 games out of his last 35 in charge. £20m was spent between last Jan & this summer... to win 7 games, yes 7 out of 35 You're having a laugh, you must be the biggest joker of all time

Corky Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 Sven won 5 out of 13 this season, plus two of the last three at the end of last season. That's 7 in 16. So we didn't win for 19 games before that? Get your stats right.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 I'm not hiding either. Sven was collecting players which he could not mould into a decent side. His approach reminded me very much of Martin Allen. Svens players were of a much higher quality I know, but all we needed this pre season were minor tweaks IMO, not a major overhaul. I disagree with the 'sven saved us from relegation' comments too. He only had to alter the formation back to something like we had under NP before Sousa replaced him. He done well to put together such a good unbeaten run at home though to be fair. Its fair to say NPs second reign hasn't gone to plan yet, but he's still sorting out the mess that Sven left him. This alone shows how inept he was. I thought it fair that Sven had to go. After Cardiff away last season (and also when we knew we couldn't reach the playoffs) so many people on here were saying 'give sven time, give him the pre season with his own singings etc' So why are the very same people now not allowing NP time?

Great post. Almost word for word what I was going to post - even the bits about Martin Allen and Paulo Sousa (weird). It hasn't started well for Nige but it didn't at Hull either and he transformed them from L1 relegation probables to playoff contenders. People will point to Nick Barmby's results but he's been in charge for what 5 games? The groundwork has to be laid first and NP did that at Hull by getting rid of wasters and bringing hungry young talent. By all accounts he's looking to do the same here. I don't think Sven was a terrible manager, I just don't think he had a real plan or a vision for Leicester City. My question to those who think he should still be here is, quite simply, what do you think was his strategy?
The Doctor Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 its actually fact edit- seen the abover posts saying its not, but I too read something somewhere with very similiar statistics Well it's utter bullshit. http://www.lcfc.com/page/Fixtures/0,,10274~2010,00.html http://www.lcfc.com/page/Fixtures/0,,10274~2011,00.html Hull on 1st Jan last season, through till Milll this season is 35 league games - count the number of wins.
Kitchandro Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 Lets look at the facts people. In Sven's last 45 minutes in charge he lost 1-0. In Nigel's last 45 minutes in charge he won 2-1. So there, Pearson is better - fact.

I don't need to cover my arse, I'm sure I'll be proved right in time. We weren't good enough under Sven. Yeh things look bleaker after 8 games but we're in another transitional period. We don't have a good enough squad and it was obvious to me in August where some of the problems were. We will improve, and we'll improve to better than we were playing under Sven. Just wait and see.

Babylon Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 Sven was ok, nothing more nothing less. I asked for him to be given time, to be given a pre-season and a summer transfer window. He got all of those, but in the end we really did look clueless this year and there seemed to be no overall plan. Pearson does things in a completely different way to Sven. He wants hungry players and puts a large emphasis the personality of a player, unfortunately I think sven collected a lot of players with reputations of dubious personalities. It's going to take time for Pearson to stamp his mark on things. Once again I will ask for him to be given all the things Sven was given. Time, a pre season, a summer transfer window... then we can all sit here and have this conversation about who was or wasn't better.

Schlupp Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 Wow Beckford or Howard debatable? Are you ****ing kidding me? Time my arse- 13 games with a new team is not time Agreed,And we was what 1 point of play offs?

Kitchandro Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 Time my arse- 13 games with a new team is not time 1 year is enough time. Do we not count last season because it's not convenient for people's pro-Sven argument?
