Finchy Posted 8 January 2012 Posted 8 January 2012 None. He's shit. He's done in twice in a career spanning how long? He's a constant near-miss, a Championship journeyman who isn't good enough for the top flight. He'll be back down to huff and puff again for another four or five years wasting the potential of some other club that really should have gone up first time round. This! I really cannot understand the Warnock love in we've had over the last year or so. Like you said, 2 promotions to the Premiership, out of god knows how many attempts. Such an average manager, and let's be honest, an absolute twat.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 8 January 2012 Posted 8 January 2012 I consider Warnock to be a mardy knob end.. But your post is spot on IMO.. This, not the other bit . . . . .
accessory Posted 8 January 2012 Posted 8 January 2012 Warnock and Ken Bates are two of a kind. I wouldn't be surprised to see him roll up at Elland Road - and maybe sooner, rather than later.
Mack Posted 8 January 2012 Posted 8 January 2012 He is a master at getting teams up. He was also unlucky in the summer to be caught up in a power struggle meaning all he could do was sign second rate freebies and hope for the best. QPR will go for Hughes and probably do better if he gets some decent Premier League standard players in before the end of the month. As for Warnock, I can see him taking the rest of the season off doing some telly work and having a think because that's twice now he has been up there and it's not gone to plan.
Finnegan Posted 8 January 2012 Posted 8 January 2012 He is a master at getting teams up. No he isn't. He really, really isn't. Go and look at his actual record again.
Corky Posted 8 January 2012 Posted 8 January 2012 He is a master at getting teams up. Same amount of top-flight promotions in the last 20 years as Gary Megson. And he's got nowhere near the reputation that Warnock has.
L4EV Posted 8 January 2012 Posted 8 January 2012 Warnock and Ken Bates are two of a kind. I wouldn't be surprised to see him roll up at Elland Road - and maybe sooner, rather than later. No mate, Ken Bates likes those kind of managers who will agree with anything he says.
berniethebolt Posted 8 January 2012 Posted 8 January 2012 Wonder if sven will be sniffing around this vacent position?
Sampson Posted 8 January 2012 Posted 8 January 2012 People saying he's only gotten two promotions to the top flight aren't old enough to remember the Notts County side he took to the top flight in the late 80s/early 90s. Notts County were a club on a spiraling downturn with financial problems falling through the leagues at the time, a bit like Plymouth are now and he completely turned them around, people were predicting them to fall into Division Four and then he got back-to-back promotions with them and took them to the top flight. Mark Draper was absolutely fantastic for them at that time (as he was for us in his season here). That stint at Notts County was the best job of his career and he's done a few good ones. I don't think he's ever done a poor job in such a lengthy career across quite a few teams, every club he's been at has improved from when he took over. I think he also has some record like he has the most promotions in the history of English football? Definitely not overrated. Never seeems to do it in the top flight, but probably the best lower league manager I can ever remember.
Corky Posted 8 January 2012 Posted 8 January 2012 I've no issue with people saying he can get teams promoted, he's just not the master at it that he's made out to be (by both fans and the media).
Brenfox Posted 9 January 2012 Posted 9 January 2012 How many times has he been promoted from this division? I can only think of 2 at the minute
accessory Posted 9 January 2012 Posted 9 January 2012 How many times has he been promoted from this division? I can only think of 2 at the minute 1990-91 with Notts County (pre-Premier League) 2005-06 Sheffield United 2010-11 QPR
Jace Posted 9 January 2012 Posted 9 January 2012 He achieved promotion with Plymouth Argyle from division 3 to division 2 in 1996 I think
MattyFromLE Posted 9 January 2012 Posted 9 January 2012 He is a massive tool and his attitude is awful.
Stadt Posted 9 January 2012 Posted 9 January 2012 I remeber the time we stuffed QPR at home 4-0 and the fans were giving him abuse and he turned around and pointed to his arse.
cc_star Posted 9 January 2012 Posted 9 January 2012 Knee jerk from their board. There doing alright in the PL imo. Although He is an utter ****, so I don't feel for him in the slightest. They were reasonably big spenders & once the ownership issue was sorted just before transfer deadline day QPR was just about the busiest club in the country, yet there's considerably worse off than Norwich & Swansea whcih barely spent a penny The truth is, QPR are about to spend big again to ensure Premiership survival & presumably kick on for Euro places next season & by his record so far this season, Warnock doesn't look capable of spending it wisely therefore the board have no choice.
cc_star Posted 9 January 2012 Posted 9 January 2012 He was unlucky at Sheff U to go back down after West Ham cheated, then of course the QPR power struggle was a nightmare for him as he couldn't sign anyone till near the deadline, that's got to upset his summer coaching, the job he did at Notts County was the stuff of dreams He's a bit of a cock to opposing teams, but like players who opposing fans love to hate, he's a good one to have on your side.
Corky Posted 9 January 2012 Posted 9 January 2012 I remeber the time we stuffed QPR at home 4-0 and the fans were giving him abuse and he turned around and pointed to his arse. Loved that game. They played pretty well and still lost 4-0. We were just clinical (and some terrible goalkeeping helped).

Bottom line is Sheff Utd were ****ing awful that year and deserved to go down.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 9 January 2012 Posted 9 January 2012 I would love the guy here! Brilliant at man management.
topharry123 Posted 9 January 2012 Posted 9 January 2012 Kind of wish he'd have been available when we were looking for a manager. Happy with Pearson, but Warnock is one of the best about for this division and i've no doubt he would get us promoted either this year or next. Saying that, Pearson has the ability to do the same anyway. Shame Warnock got sacked. I used to really hate the guy, but i've grown to like his honesty and the way he goes about a job. He's one of them manager's that the fans of the club he manages loves but everybody else hates.
flowwolf Posted 9 January 2012 Posted 9 January 2012 He looks like Ken Dodd minus the eye brows and for that I will never forgive him.
lcfcliam Posted 9 January 2012 Posted 9 January 2012 Loved that game. They played pretty well and still lost 4-0. We were just clinical (and some terrible goalkeeping helped). I remember thinking that their keeper was awful.... we had him on loan the next season
