Ultra Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 When teams of lesser ability (and supposedly of less value) come to the Way and walk away with points, does our manager feel even the slightest twinge of guilt about being paid several times more then his counterparts in this league for a lesser performance? He messed up badly today and should be honest enough to have admitted as much to the fans.

Take a week or so to get someone else in, by that time there would be no time to get anyone in on the playing front and we are still stuck with this useless set of players assembled in the image of Sven, lathargic and couldn't care less as long as they get paid. Right off the season and just try and assemble the right types of players in terms of position and character to attempt to be in the shake up next year. Some of the reactions on here are more embarrassing our performances.

Why do people jump from one extreme to another just because one doesn't agree with Pearson's summing up of today's game doesn't mean they want yet another change. I didn't want Sven to go not because I thought he was doing brilliantly but because this club above all others have surely shown that constant change doesn't bring success but that doesn't mean we can't offer constructive criticism or respond to being criticised. As for the perceived inadequacies you mention of the current squad well he should be man enough to get more out of them than he is doing.

Our squad lacks for so many things that Barnsley demonstrated in abundance today. Barnsley closed us down quickly and consistently, they played to their strengths, they worked as a team, they created much easier chances than us, they were stronger in the air and more determined in the tackle and had people who'd run to support each other. As Pearson said on the radio we really haven't got a deep squad. It's an illusion. Our effective options are extremely limited.

Are our players incapable of doing that, I don't believe so as I've seen them do it. Small squad or not they do have the skills to at least match teams in the lower half of this league at the very least so one has to ask why they are performing below their ability.

There's so many teams that come down here, look quicker on the ball, more physical in the challenge, more up for the game, more in your face, in our box within 10 passes compared to our 10 accross the back 4 and Wellens. If he directed "Delusions of granduer" at the fans, then I would do my best to retract this to soften the blow. He has never been media friendly, and gets upset quickly if provoked. That said, I have no doubt he has other strenghths to take the club forward.

Surely that's failing of the manager then, these players of ours haven't just turned up from outer space they played for these teams that come here, did we pick them because they were shit and incapable of performing in those other teams, I suspect not in fact i'd suggest they were thought to be some of the better players in those other teams especially if they came from the Championship of below. So I don't go with that excuse.
