davieG Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 And they shouldn't lose to Millwall 3-0 at home. He's absolutely correct, both fans and players need to get real. If people don't like the truth then tough. We've been left with a crock of shit squad wise, people can blame Pearson all they like, but we were all mostly coming to that conclusion under Sven also. But they are all at the very least Championship quality players who are simply under performing for whatever reason and this is what Pearson is paid to put right. I'm not expecting scintillating football but I do expect season pros, some of who can be classed as Pearson's player to be able to pass the ball to team mate something we seem incapable of doing. Pearson has been around long enough now to have at least steady the ship and get the team performing as a team, he should be able to produce a team that is stronger than the individual parts this he has clearly failed to do. I certainly don't want yet another change but he's got to hold his hand up and take the blame as the Captain of this particular ship and not try to side track people with comments about delusions of grandeur after another inept performance.
Kent Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 He's right, most of our fans are wankers. It's give and take but if there wasn't such a negative atmosphere so quickly then the players might not play with so much fear.
RonnieTodger Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 Spending over 11 million in this league, we should be in the top 4, there is no excuses To be fair though, he's not spent a penny. Silly thing to say though.
MattyFromLE Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 Spending over 11 million in this league, we should be in the top 4, there is no excuses This attitude is essentially what the problem is. Look at Man City, how long and how much cash has it taken for them to be succesful? And yet, this season, other than looking invincible in the league, they're out of the FA cup and hanging on in the League Cup. Throwing money at has beens and past reputations is going to do sod all. Abusing players, managers is going to be a negative step. Things are looking down, course they are, I'm struggling to find a positive. Just because we have spent money, doesn't mean instant success is guaranteed. This is why the fans are on the teams back, this is why our confidence is shot. This is why Sven was sacked, this is why Pearson's touch isn't working. We were expecting too much. £11,000,000 does not mean we will win the league. As has been proven.
SMX11 Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 Thank god somone in the Leicester camp has finally said it, we deserve to be where we are because the squad is not good enough. Well done Pearson. Edit- Also when have we become such snobs, thinking we are so far superior to Barnsley, they we far superior to us today and it isn't that suprising because they have some balance, ability and most of all a good attitude.
Corky Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 I don't have delusions of grandeur, I don't expect us to stroll past teams in this league every week. What I do expect is for players to be able to pass the ball to team-mates, to move into space, to form a cohesive unit and to make the away keeper work for his money. We had none of those.
whitwickfox Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 Pearson has had a snipe at the fans...expectation is positive thinking....he should try it
dave the caveman Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 If he was talking about the players, fine. But if he was talking about the fans, he should be sacked.
Kitchandro Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 I'm not really sure what he meant. I don't think the fans booing is anything about delusions of grandeur, they are very well aware that the team is shit that's why they are pissed off. The point is the team shouldn't be this shit, there is no excuse for it. If he's on about the players then he's right, terrible half-hearted attitude and they do play like they just have to turn up to win, then have no fight when things start going wrong.
Happy Fox Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 I don't have delusions of grandeur, I don't expect us to stroll past teams in this league every week. Spot on, NP is here for the f**king money, the problems lie pretty much everywhere but mainly the midfield, if Wellens or Gallagher or Dyer or King start another f**king game then we are never getting anywhere, NP must see this otherwise he should get sacked.
john doe Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 he spoke sense in that interview and anyone who thinks he didnt are idiots! pearson is working with a bunch of useless over paid twatts that sven bought, get in some young hungry players and quick that was his midfield ?

Dyer was the best blue shirt on the pitch today.
MC Prussian Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 Dyer was the best blue shirt on the pitch today. Konchesky? Schmeichel? Ooh, I see what you did there with the "blue shirts"...

pen2 Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 he spoke sense in that interview and anyone who thinks he didnt are idiots! pearson is working with a bunch of useless over paid twatts that sven bought, get in some young hungry players and quick Sorry....Gally (shite) King, wellens, dyer.. all played today and then he insults us by saying we have delusions when expecting/wanting to beat Barnsley, Portsmouth and Ipswich at home... with that comments for me he can now F*** Off
Leicfox Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 It doesn't really help though when you have the owners jokingly saying "You never know we might even sign Drogba"
Happy Fox Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 Come on NP blame the f**king Thais if you cannot cope at a money infested club then there is no hope for you jog on, and take Wellens and co with you.
FrankieADZ Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 can understand why Pearson said it tbf. Some fans thought just cause we spent a few quid on players that we'd walk the league. Money doesnt always buy you success if you dont spend it wisely.
Walker Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 The most sensible comment he's made since his return. People still turn up thinking we have a god-given right to win the league, even now.
Kitchandro Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 I don't understand slating Pearson for playing 'his' midfield. Firstly, Danns was in the team, and was as pointless as usual. And who else is he going to play, fatboy Johnson, little boy lost Abe and Fernandes who didn't want to be here? I'll probably be criticising him for the midfield at the end of this month is he doesn't get better players, but the fact is Sven had 2 transfer windows to get better players than Wellens, King and Gallagher, but he didn't. Even Fernandes (who I reiterate, didn't want to be here after Sven left) wasn't the world class player some on here make him out to be, he was inconsistent and shocking in some games too. His form towards the end of Sven's tenure was poor.
lcfcadam Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 Absolutely no set of fans in the league, regardless of how much money there was around their club or where they were in the league, would be anything less than thoroughly pissed off at at display such as ours today.
Bettsj2 Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 He was spot on in saying what he said. It's a disgrace that the fans are being how they are. 5 games in people were giving Beckford shit. Wellens has to listen to it, Gallagher, Dyer, Mills, Konchesky etc etc. Why the **** do we think the players want to give us a performance just because they pay for their ticket? All this shit about how 'if I were in that position, i'd show more passion', **** off. If I got paid a million quid a day to play for City, if 25,000 people were just booing me and moaning about everything all of the time, I wouldnt want to play either. All these ****ers can wait till their contracts run out and go and play for someone else for the same money. We're stuck with the club forever so for ****s sake make the most out of it and try and be positive. I'd give anything to be able to go to every game even if it is dogshit so count yourselves lucky and stop being so ****ing negative!!!
Master Fox Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 Sorry....Gally (shite) King, wellens, dyer.. all played today and then he insults us by saying we have delusions when expecting/wanting to beat Barnsley, Portsmouth and Ipswich at home... with that comments for me he can now F*** Off We spend 11million on new players and we have a worse midfield than we did in league 1. Until we address that problem we'll always be shit.
Finnegan Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 Expecting to beat Ipswich and Barnsley at home is delusions of grandeur? How ****ing low are HIS expectations!?
Iwan Roberts Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 It's not about having the 'god given right' to win games its about playing decent football with the right tactics. People said Sven didn't have a plan B well Pearson doesn't even have a plan A! Long ball doesn't work!
