Bettsj2 Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 They've only been booed since they started under performing. The team need the fans most when things aren't going well.
davieG Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 The team need the fans most when things aren't going well. True but there's only so much a human can take before disillusionment sets in we've obviously reached that point were the fans feel they've given enough and it's time for the manager and the team to produce a performance with some credibility. PS. I've never booed the team.
Cecchini1976 Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 he spoke sense in that interview and anyone who thinks he didnt are idiots! pearson is working with a bunch of useless over paid twatts that sven bought, get in some young hungry players and quick That Sven brought in? The biggest issue is midfield, Dyer , Gally, Wellens & king.
Fox 4 Life Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 **** this, i'm going for a Chinese. If it's shit i'm gonna brick his window. Ha ha, post of the evening! Dont go getting delusions of grandeur about good it will be
fleckneymike Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 1 win in 8 games. We've failed to beat Pompey, Ipswich, Doncaster, Barnsley and Peterborough. We've mustered 3 shots on target against Doncaster, Ipswich, Barnsley and just 4 against Palace. We've been more than patient.
dave the caveman Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 Any link to the interview? Still haven't heard it. I'm thinking maybe he was implying that the fans are expecting too much from the players simply because they are crap players. So it was perhaps an indirect dig at the players through the fans rather than a direct dig at the fans. Either way it's a bad thing to say and probably indictive that he has lost it. He needs a miracle to still be here by March after this.

The Year Of The Fox Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 At the end of the day, the squad we have should be beating teams like barnsley. Why though? We have no right to. I think your attitude is one that many have taken on and is whats provoked Pearsons comment. (not getting at you personally) no team has a right to win - blackburn beating man u, sheff weds beating west ham. Ok they may be off days rather than consistently bad performances like ourselves, but we're simply not a good side. If our players could pull off the fancy stuff they try, then they wouldn't be playing for leicester.
funkyrobot Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 That Sven brought in? The biggest issue is midfield, Dyer , Gally, Wellens & king. The bigger issue is that even Sven wouldn't play the potential replacements in midfield he had signed. Fernandes and Danns were only bit part players under him and as for Johnson, what a waste of time. For all the money Sven had, he failed particularly badly with his midfield department which is why Pearson has no choice but to go back to the old guard.

Getting rid of Wellens and co will never happen unless someone is stupid enough to buy them off us.
THEFATBASTARD Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 F*** Off Pearson! Man of straw, always knew this, the owners have made a disasterous mistake in sacking sven, the excuse cupboard is starting to look bare..
tylesta Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 He was spot on in saying what he said. It's a disgrace that the fans are being how they are. 5 games in people were giving Beckford shit. Wellens has to listen to it, Gallagher, Dyer, Mills, Konchesky etc etc. Why the **** do we think the players want to give us a performance just because they pay for their ticket? All this shit about how 'if I were in that position, i'd show more passion', **** off. If I got paid a million quid a day to play for City, if 25,000 people were just booing me and moaning about everything all of the time, I wouldnt want to play either. All these ****ers can wait till their contracts run out and go and play for someone else for the same money. We're stuck with the club forever so for ****s sake make the most out of it and try and be positive. I'd give anything to be able to go to every game even if it is dogshit so count yourselves lucky and stop being so ****ing negative!!! if 25.000 kept on booing moaning at me i would pull my finger out sort it and prove them wrong.
mustapha_teabreak Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 you mean like dyer, wellens, howard, gallagher??? FFS he spoke sense in that interview and anyone who thinks he didnt are idiots! pearson is working with a bunch of useless over paid twatts that sven bought, get in some young hungry players and quick

I bet the excuse cupboard was pretty full when Sven was here. 'give him time' 'give him the pre season with his own signings' Why can't NP have that chance?

'give him time' 'give him the pre season with his own signings' Why can't NP have that chance? Do you seriously think the situation is looking good I was willing to give NP the benefit of the doubt seeing as he had this January transfer window to get rid of the deadwood and bring some quality in, but so far nothing has happened. How much more time can we give him we are looking at a lower midtable/ relegation battle
wakeyred Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 Barnsley fan here, sorry I wasn't at the game today so can't comment about the particulars. I came on the board last year to congratulate you after you murdered us at home under Sven, so much so that our then manager Robin's made 2 subs before half time. Not quite sure why you didn't go up that year, but then one performance doesn't make a season. Anyway, I've never been a big fan of Pearson - the 2 games against Hull last season were utterly dull, but I think Barnsley deserve a little more respect than they have got this season (or any season for that matter). We've had some decent results away, beaten Leeds, Peterborough and Reading, also drawn at Birmingham and Derby. We might not have much money and recruited largely from the lower leagues but it just goes to show that spending money does not give you the automatic "right" to expect teams like us to roll-over, we play good football and twice this season I've seen teams give-up (ok it was Coventry and Donni) because they had no answers on the pitch. I hope things work out for you guys, but just remember sometimes having too many choices on who to pick is worse than not having any.
Corky Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 You deserve a lot of respect- I didn't think you were amazing but you had a game plan and it worked. Our complaints are more about how we played into your hands with our style. You deserved the win and it could've been more.

How much more time can we give him we are looking at a lower midtable/ relegation battle Wow, you're willing to give him one transfer window. Everyone knows the January transfer window is difficult to deal in because so, so many clubs are loathed to sell their players, hence the like of SAF and Wenger very rarely dipping into the market in January. I'm certain Nigel will turn the ship round given some time and support.

It is not that hard we don't have to buy players right left and centre just a couple of loans like Chris Wood ( target man), Andros Townsend (winger), Josh McEachran (playmaker) oh and look they have gone to other clubs. We clearly aren't doing enough as far as I am concerned.
SMX11 Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 The thing Pearson has against him that the transfer window in Jan is far harder to get layers in. Sven in the first season was so short sighted with his infinite loan signings, which was practically throwing money into the bin. Sven hardly attracted anyone of note in the summer and over spent on some players. It is a lot easier to bullshit a player about the clubs long term prospects at the start of the year when there hasn't been any games, it is a lot harder for Pearson to attract people to a side dwindling in the bottom half of the championship. Plus the clubs don't want to sell in Jan. Pearson should get as long has Sven had in charge and then judgement should be made.
Ultra Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 Even if he takes us down this season? Behave, this is not 07-08. Forest and Cov are nailed on for two of the relegation spots and Doncaster, Millwall, Bristol City or Ipswich could join them. Unless Pearson brings in midfield reinforcements, maybe on loan, we will finish bottom-half though.
