So good that they where sitting bottom of the league when Sven took over

They weren't bottom, they were 3rd bottom

A dead dog could have got us from there to mid-table, given the squad had just finished in playoff positions

He had done so with st ledger before deciding he wanted to be friends after all ...

Who did SSL sign for?

He wanted to go to Leeds (where Bates is asset stripping the club), but only Ipswich wanted him

SSL, looks to be a prime example of how difficult it is moving on a (once) good individual with indifferent form, presumably on money that is up there with the division's best

Wanting to win at home is not delusions / illusions of grandeur and irrespective of whether they are Pearson's players or not although 3 of the worst ones , Wellens, Gallagher and King are his there are far too many individuals under performing and have been for some time. Even the ones that were ok under Sven, Peltier and Nugent have now started to go backwards.

Pearson with all his facilities and time with the players should be getting more from individuals and significantly more from their combined strengths. It's not complicated we're simply not performing the basics to any acceptable standard, nothing to do with being over ambitious although I do think all this 'public' talk early on about winning the league and having money to spend has been counter productive in it's affect on the pitch and our ability to get in players with the right attitude.

This - 100%

The way I understood it ssl had agreed terms and had been selected for the Ipswich brum game before we change our minds

We're shit

Our team is shit.

Beckford scored loads of goals in league 1 and his time at Everton was inconclusive.

Danns performed well in a relegation threatened side, he didn't perform well for a team at the right end of the league.

Mills was actually not rated much by Reading fans.

Peltier was good in League 1.

BTW why do people keep agreeing with Dangerous Tiger. He's a cretin who just wants Pearson to fail.

Because it is easier to be an angry mob, Simpsons style than to be a Lisa Simpson lol

I really like Pearson, I think he has been give an bit of a rough hand, and given time think he will make a very good 'team'. I think he has the right attributes to straighten the squad out, given both time and better conditions to deal in. I was trying to think yesterday of one time Pearson has failed at a club? I have faith in him in the long term, I am prepared for a dip (even to the end of the season) while he straightens things out so he is happy. (This is just my opinion)

On another point I was reading an article by David James in the Guardian today about the effect of a negative crowd on performance. It was interesting and got me thinking. Yesterday I was embarressed at 2-1 down that players were being openly booed. I may have expected it if the game was well beyond us, but 2-1 down with 20 odd minutes to go? How is that ever going to help us to draw/win? I am almost certain that oppostion managers plug into this with the 'just frustrate them and the crowd will get on their back', especially after hearing booing at half-time. Don't get me wrong, people pay hard earned money to watch our football club, and if they want to they can boo, but I beg people please leave it till the full-time whistle when its not going to destroy our teams chances of getting something from the game.

I know everyone is angry at the minute, but what ever view you hold our club needs us now. Fighting and arguing and getting on peoples back during a game is only going to send us one way. Lets get together and thump Forest on Tuesday! :chant:

Delusions of Grandeur?????

The owners told us we were going to get promoted

The manager told us we were going to get promoted

the players told us they had come here to get promoted and play at the top level.

we spent shit loads of money

the manager got sacked and told us we would still get promoted

the new manager came in and told us the aim was still to get promoted.

Now I for one always said the sven thing was never likely to work, but if you tell people enough, people will start to believe it.

Delusions of Grandeur......... Not for me people just believe what they were told and have been massively let down.

You know when ManU are losing, or even drawing & they keep on doing their thing until they score one of their late equalisers or winners, it's because everyone works together

The team can't do it without the fans, I say fans... but the only thing many seem to support is instant success & spending millions

Everyone needs to stick together right until the final whistle... and only then let negative feelings be known

How is anyone supposed to perform in such an atmosphere, it's a key reason why we seem to play a bit free-er away from home.

We're poisonous & like I said elsewhere regarding a different matter it's counter-productive & destructive.

It's a self-fulfilling prophecy where everyone wants the blood on the floor from failure, so failure WILL happen.

It's the old chicken and egg argument - the crowds reaction on Saturday is the culmination of a whole series of non performances since hull - I was desperate to have a sense that we could get back at them but apart from one run from Lloyd just before the hour - which was cheered - there was absolutely nothing . It could have been a friendly such was the lack of energy passion and get-at-them from the team and the management staff alike

What Pearson said about you Leicester fans yesterday just proves he is an arragont cvnt, also shows his lack of ambition. Your owners will not have been happy when they read that, they are the most dilluded out the lot of you.

Man Utd fans keep going because they believe in what they are seeing on the pitch, they trust a man who for 20 years has guided them.

We have to watch aimless hoofball that isn't working, it's quite hard to have faith in something you know cannot work. It's the equivalent of cheering a man running at a brick wall when you can see the door just a few feet to his left. Rather than encouraging him to continually run at the wall I'd rather point out the door a few feet to his left, Nigel would rather run at the wall and blame someone else for building the wall whilst also claiming to know where the door is.

We know he lacks ambition, he went to Dull.

At the end of the day the club and the players put the pressure on themselves.......

'Automatic Promotion' was being branded around the place 24/7. Players saying they enjoy the hype and look to thrive under etc etc.

This is why the fans have big expectations for us this season and can hardly be blamed for being unhappy at the current form the team is showing.

Thats the point 20 years were lucky to have one for 20 months, chopping and changing the manager does no good. And throwing money about doesnt either

He`s right...

The money went to peoples heads.

MOney?

The reason Pearson came back?

Think its abit two faced to say we have delusions of grandeur.

Why the fcuk did you come back then?

You knew the score!

No disrespect Pearson but your honeymoon period lasted as long as a Matt Mills pass

Posted

He was spot on in saying what he said.

It's a disgrace that the fans are being how they are. 5 games in people were giving Beckford shit.

Wellens has to listen to it, Gallagher, Dyer, Mills, Konchesky etc etc.

Why the **** do we think the players want to give us a performance just because they pay for their ticket? All this shit about how 'if I were in that position, i'd show more passion', **** off.

If I got paid a million quid a day to play for City, if 25,000 people were just booing me and moaning about everything all of the time, I wouldnt want to play either.

All these ****ers can wait till their contracts run out and go and play for someone else for the same money. We're stuck with the club forever so for ****s sake make the most out of it and try and be positive.

I'd give anything to be able to go to every game even if it is dogshit so count yourselves lucky and stop being so ****ing negative!!!

Does Konchesky get stick?

Does Casper get stick?

Yes City fans are just as retarded as most but some players show "that little bit extra".

Look at our squad? Are people really saying with a squad like ours we shouldnt be better than were we are?

Really?

Are fans happy with 15th place in the League?

Shall we all take tikker tape to the next match and create a guard of honour at the players entrance when the players arrive?

Delusions of Grandeur Nigel?

No mate just a realistic hope that we can win the odd game or two at home would be nice.

You've had enough time, you know most of the players already...if this club is too big for you...go back to Hull if they will have you back(but as they are higher in the League than us,i dont think you will)

The more i think about the comment the more i think how absurd?

He's an employer at the club.

He's the "main man"on the playing field.

If he thinks like that what will the players think.

Unbelievable.

If i was the Thias i'd have in the office Monday Morning no matter how big or imporrtant he thinks he is.

Delusions of Grandeur....

I have been following Leicester for over 26 years now. Given the size of the club we are, during that 25 years I would not have expected us to have lost 5 home games by mid January ( apart from maybe in the prem at our worst! ). This is not delusional, money or no money to get 3 points vs Posh, Ipswich, Pompey and Barnsley at home is not acceptable. I don't buy the argument that we are not good enough, we have proven that we can do well, with good performances vs Brighton, Derby, Palace and Saints to mention a few. This is where the fans frustration comes from, how can the team that beat Palace 3-0 at home and 2-1 away be so shockingly bad against ipswich and Barnsley?

I dont think anyone has been deluded, I think we rightly expected to be in the promotion mix with the money spent. Comment all you like, but players like Danns, Beckford, Schmeichel, Mills, Koncheski et al are all good enough to be up there.

Is it delusional to expect ANY club in the Championship to have the ability to win back to back games within an 11 month period? As I said above, I would have expected a club of Leicesters stature to be able to do this pre-money anyway!!!

The fans can not be blamed for booing, we are being served up a load of tosh every week. People have paid good money week in week out to be served up total rubbish.

I was not overly keen on the return of Pearson, however he is our manager and we need to get behind him. But for his part he needs to pull his finger out and do something about it. I understand that transfers take time, particularly in the January window, but the inefficiencies of Leicester City's midfield have been there for all to see for a long time. Billy Sharp would not be the saviour because the poor sod would be feeding off scraps ( like Beckford ), because we simply do not create enough chances. The defence is constantly on the back foot, and when either of our full backs attack ( both good at this ) they are totally exposed and fearful of doing so ( Barnsley first goal example ).

Another season of frustration, I have a feeling things will get worse before they get better... tin hats at the ready!!!
