Messi Posted 19 February 2012 Posted 19 February 2012 Shevchenko getting about 80% of his Chelsea goals in that one game. What 1 Goal?
Kitchandro Posted 19 February 2012 Posted 19 February 2012 Just spoke to a Brum fan and Chelsea charged them £30 for Adults and £15 for concessions (Under 16's and over 65's.) Apparently the stewards were asking for ID from all fans with a concession tickets. Edit: Not as expensive as I thought they would be, I'm considering going to this now at £15. I've never understood this. Why would under 16s be carrying ID with them?
Guy Posted 19 February 2012 Posted 19 February 2012 Revenge for that heartbreaking 4-3 (I think) a few years back. Shevchenko getting about 80% of his Chelsea goals in that one game. Torres will do the same You stole my thunder! Although this year doesn't end in a 7 thankfully (1997 - FA Cup R5 replay penalty con defeat there.....& then 2007, throwing away a 2-3 lead we held until about 5 mins from the end in the League Cup, only to lose 4-3 to a rare Shevchenko goal), with the latter scenario you can't help but think Torres will suddenly come to life at our expense, a la Shevchenko - so bring on the Brum hopefully!!!!
Ozwin Posted 19 February 2012 Posted 19 February 2012 What 1 Goal? Did he only get one? It sure as hell felt like more! I was actually close to tears after that game, Lampard (was it?) genuinely ripped my heart out and stamped on it

I'm 16, i paid £25 for norwich which i was pissed off about, but there is NO way i am paying £30 at 16.
Salieri Posted 19 February 2012 Posted 19 February 2012 People can dress it up all they like, but Birmingham would be a far 'easier' proposition than Chelsea. Brum beat Chelsea, we get a draw at St.Andrews then do em at home.

If we're doing that, we last reached the semi-finals in a year ending in 2. In that season our 5th round opponents wore yellow and we'd only conceded 1 goal before the quarter-final, just like this season. Any more omens?
Jakemoore Posted 19 February 2012 Posted 19 February 2012 i thought we'd get battered yesterday so who knows!! We can beat either if we really turn up!! Sod the league, its over, lets get the cup!!
Kitchandro Posted 19 February 2012 Posted 19 February 2012 In 1974, 3 out of our first 4 original ties were away from home, one of those going to a replay, and the Quarter-final match was away at a London club.
Guest nathan. Posted 19 February 2012 Posted 19 February 2012 Anyone know when Chelsea and Brum play the replay
TheUltimateWinner Posted 19 February 2012 Posted 19 February 2012 Anyone know when Chelsea and Brum play the replay 6th Of March

We stuffed Watford 4-1 in R5, 1982 - I remember listening to it excitedly on the radio in my late Granddad's car when we used to do antique fairs and I used to sneak out to put the car radio on when it got boring for me! Then sadly we lost to Spurs in the semi at Villa Park after the amazing 5-2 win over Shrews. Happy days, when the FA Cup was a massive deal back then!

Salieri Posted 19 February 2012 Posted 19 February 2012 6th Of March My birthday! A win for Birmingham would be a nice gift.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 19 February 2012 Posted 19 February 2012 Which ever it is the game will have a massive build up and we will rise to occasions with some help from our awesome support. Up the City!!!
Libertine Dream Posted 19 February 2012 Posted 19 February 2012 If it is to be Chelsea then playing them on 17th/18th would be a great time to play them, a)their out of form but moreover the Wednesday before they play Napoli in CL having the previous week played West Brom, Brum and Stoke and the following week they have Spurs, and then if they get through the CL the next two weeks are CL quarter finals. So with that fixture pile up they might play a weakened team and give us a chance. Or they could rest players against Brum, lose and give us a better all round chance of going through. Heres hoping lads!!!1
LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 19 February 2012 Posted 19 February 2012 I've never understood this. Why would under 16s be carrying ID with them? Ridiculous if you ask me, only id I have and other under 16 year olds will have is a passport and why would you take that with you?
ScouseFox Posted 19 February 2012 Posted 19 February 2012 Lovely sense of optimism from most in here. I like this thread more than the "oh norwich what's the point we may as well forfeit because we've already lost" thread. Chelsea or Birmingham, are we that arsed? Let's fvcking do them!

Chairman of the Bored Posted 19 February 2012 Posted 19 February 2012 Poor draw...Birmingham is generally a rubbish away day, however, is easy to get to. I actually think we stand a good chance if our fans get behind the team especially as Brum fans are truly pathetic at home. Whereas I think Chelsea could be a nightmare to get to, never been on a London away day mind. Still, I also think this result could go either way if we have good support like at Norwich. Gutted at not having a home tie though. Chelski is dead simple to get to, but not so easy to get out off if the natives are revolting (which they usually are).
