LCFCCHRIS Posted 11 March 2012 Posted 11 March 2012 Alot of people are complaining about him but he at least he tried yesterday. He gets booked mostly every game though, but most aren't even bookings. What do you think?
hbkkids Posted 11 March 2012 Posted 11 March 2012 I like Howard but he is to old and needs to leave or possibly go on loan. Ain't good enough for a promotion chasing team.
LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 11 March 2012 Posted 11 March 2012 I love Steve, shows alot of passion! He had a good game yesterday, at least he tried unlike Beckford who didn't look bothered again, giving balls away straight the way. He didn't deserve his booking though, it was a 50/50 tackle and he won it, got the ball then after that taking the player down aswell and got booked for fvck all. I can see him starting on tuesday night, Pearson said there were going to be changes and taking Beckford off will most likely being one of them.

ThurnbyLodgeFox Posted 11 March 2012 Posted 11 March 2012 deserves a start against birmingham over the waste-of-money from everton
Bugg Posted 11 March 2012 Posted 11 March 2012 He's ****ing shit In fact, all he does is foul the opposition and complain at the referee
strattylcfc Posted 11 March 2012 Posted 11 March 2012 I love the guy haven't got a bad word to say about him he has been a brilliant player for Leicester player and should finish A Leicester play he come on for 10 15 mins normally apart from yesterday and normally changes the game... Doesn't score really anymore obviously but sets up goals and is a pain for defenders to deal with
Mack Posted 11 March 2012 Posted 11 March 2012 He whinges at the officials far too much for me, often gets himself booked or worse sent off (Palace) for that. He's also donkey slow now. He can finish given the chance, but I'd rather see us give younger talent an opportunity now.
LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 11 March 2012 Posted 11 March 2012 He's ****ing shit In fact, all he does is foul the opposition and complain at the referee Doesn't really foul them, they just can't handle him.

He didn't get booked for the foul he got booked for throwing his toys out of the pram which was comedy gold. Some people think that is passion. He's had a good run. Time to retire.
Bugg Posted 11 March 2012 Posted 11 March 2012 Doesn't really foul them, they just can't handle him. Well he gives away a foul every time the opposition can't "handle him".
Haydos Posted 11 March 2012 Posted 11 March 2012 I love the guy haven't got a bad word to say about him Are you kidding? You don't have a single bad thing to say about Steve Howard? I swear 98% of our fans are either dangerously deluded or satisfied with fooking anything if the player huffs and puffs, swears a bit and gives the grand result of f all.
cc_star Posted 11 March 2012 Posted 11 March 2012 Alot of people are complaining about him but he at least he tried yesterday. He gets booked mostly every game though, but most aren't even bookings. What do you think? I don't understand these constant complaints... Why make yourself miserable all the time... Have a quick moan & move on Yesterday we managed 1 shot on target in the first half & that came just before half time, Howard came on and within 10mins we'd had 5 further shots on target... Sadly reading ripped us to bits with their teamplay which is something we need to emulate next season consistently,as we've only (very) intermittently hit those heights Back on to Howard... It's not like he's first pick is it & keeping the super high scoring Beckford out the team is it? He was bought on to do a job & initially it worked before we were undone by a better side... That's not Howard's fault is it? Have a moan... move on
MikeyT Posted 11 March 2012 Posted 11 March 2012 I appreciate everything he has done since he's been here, but I think he definitely needs to move on now.
Cecchini1976 Posted 11 March 2012 Posted 11 March 2012 I have no idea why people like this cart horse, he had a handful of good games in league 1 and that's it, and most people remember the goal v's Leeds( he came of the bench as not good enough to start). I can only conclude that the people who like him have only been LCFC fans for a short period and winning league 2 is highlight for them, not meant in a bad way, but he is useless
ScouseFox Posted 11 March 2012 Posted 11 March 2012 It's a lower league, British mentality. I genuinely believe a majority of our fans are perfectly happy with trying hard and losing.
lcfcsnow Posted 11 March 2012 Posted 11 March 2012 He was past it when Holloway signed him, and was a big reason we went down due to a clear lack of effort. Has everyone forgot? One good season at his level in League one and we should have parted ways then, instead he's somehow lasted another 3 years. He would struggle to get a game for a top half League 2 team now. Sven did us no favours though giving a contract extension to both Howard and Oakley for no reason whatsoever. Even Pearson realised Kermorgant was a better option towards the end of 2009/10. We should be looking towards the future now, instead of wheeling Howard out give Tom Hopper a chance to impress. But we won't, it'll be Howard starting on Tuesday night and Hopper nowhere to be seen. Typical Leicester City looking to the past instead of the future.
NeilyBoy Posted 11 March 2012 Posted 11 March 2012 It's not a question of his commitment; he's simply reached the stage where he no longer offers us anything. Isn't he out of contract in the summer anyway?

I can see him starting on tuesday night, Pearson said there were going to be changes and taking Beckford off will most likely being one of them. He got booked for dissent. The same reason he got sent off for against palace. Top stuff from the most experienced member of our squad. I guess that doesn't matter though as long as he shows passion.
FrankieADZ Posted 11 March 2012 Posted 11 March 2012 I can understand why Nigel still picks him; he offers something different up front for us,a strong battering ram up front. I can understand ppl view on why is he still coming on and such...but hes the only type of that sorta player we have atm. & if he gives his all when he come on and does whats asked then Im more than happy to have him here
teblin Posted 11 March 2012 Posted 11 March 2012 I understand why nige has him in the squad but we need a younger more mobile version of him. One of our big problems in my opinion is we don't have anyone up top who makes the ball stick often enough for others to join in. Too many times the ball comes straight back. Howard isn't the answer anymore but we need someone like him. West ham have a big man, Southampton have a big man, as do reading Birmingham etc...

We should take Futacs from Pompey they need the money pronto.
teblin Posted 11 March 2012 Posted 11 March 2012 We should take Futacs from Pompey they need the money pronto. I was impressed with him against us. It would bring the best out of nugent/Beckford having a 'targetman' along side him/them.
Guest Col city fan Posted 11 March 2012 Posted 11 March 2012 Big Steves never been particularly brill has he. Fair play, he gives his all and most fans appreciate this. But ever since he joined us his goal tally ain't great. I'm really surprised Pearson didn't bring another striker in during Jan ie. a permanent or a loan till the end of the season. Cos Steve ain't a decent replacement anymore I'm afraid.
