Matt Mills

Matt Mills doesn't care about us. Being in B2 I walked past the bench on the way out of the ground and saw matt mills sitting there with his head in his hands. I then turned around and beckford scored. Not any reaction from matt mills not even a smile and this guy is meant to be our captain.

I've always wanted to sit close to the bench to get an insight into what the boss and players are saying. Do you ever hear what's being said?

All this slating Mills is a joke, he is top quality defender, I'd he cost £500,000 everybody would be saying he is quality.

he didn't, so your point....is pointless.

Who is he? I said all this slating of Mills. 80% of posts on this thread is having a dig at him.

mills didn't cost 500,000 so it's completely pointless to even bring that up.

Ignore him until he earns the fans praise.

Judging by the reaction when he warmed up last night- the fans are still behind him.

He is by far the best defender at the club, & one of the best in the division. Yes he has had a few bad games, but who has not this year?his distribution is poor and needs working on but defensively he is sound and will only get better, to sell him would be a big mistake.

Are u for real?? quality defender?? whilst here his perfomances on the whole have been dreadful, not to mention his attitude, what have u been watching????

Matt Mills - 31 Appearances 26 Conceded

Sol Bamba - 32 Appearances 28 Conceded

Wes Morgan - 8 Appearances 14 Conceded

Sean St Ledger - 25 Appearances 35 Conceded

No idea how many were penalties, and I don't really care. Mills isn't a dreadful defender.

That makes SSL look shit, but he has been the central defender who has been the most solid imo. Stats can prove anything.

Matt, you really should stop trolling these forums.

Not everyone is as informed.

Personally I am behind Pearson, and I trust his judgement.

Why is it most here seem to remember all of Mills bad games this season but not many seem to be remembering any of SSLs bad games?

Does that include the goals we conceded after he got sent off against B'ham and Hull?

It's not about defending. He forgets to do the basics like badge kissing and clapping fans like all the other mercenaries that play for us. You have to pretend to love the club you play for, even if it doesn't love you - elementary, but makes most fans gush with pride and want you in their team forever, even if you are crap

The brother of Matt Mills reckons the Leicester City defender wants to stay at the club and fight to regain his starting spot.

Mills looked all set for a loan switch to Leeds United following a reported bust-up with City manager Nigel Pearson, but then the deal to take him to Elland Road stalled.

Pearson confirmed there had been enquiries about the 25-year-old centre-back, but said he would be considered for selection like any other player.

And Mills was back in the squad for the Championship match at home to Birmingham on Tuesday, although he was not used off the bench.

Mills, who joined City from Reading last summer, was a spectator at the match between the two sides last weekend which the Royals won 3-1, and there was a lot of banter flying around about him among both sets of fans.

His brother, Joseph, also on the books at Reading, said: "When Matt was left out of the team there was a lot of interest in him – as anyone would expect.

"But he is happy to be at Leicester and I think he wants to try to fight for his place in the side. He wants to be playing, and if the chance comes up he will be ready to do so.

"But, obviously, that isn't his decision, it's up to their manager. All he can do is wait and take his chance when it comes his way again."

Joseph played against his brother while on loan at Doncaster last season, but neither player found themselves in the match-day squad for last weekend's game. They also have two other footballing brothers.

Joseph said: "I have spoken to him every day and, while of course he is disappointed as a professional to not be playing, he is getting his head down and working hard.

"He is probably my best friend in football.

"I speak to him every day and any days we get off I will either go up there to see him or he will come down.

"We have got a very close relationship but when we do play against each other that gets cut for a couple of days, and when that dies down it is back to normal.

"When we were little our garden didn't stay a garden for too long, it turned into a mudpit for a while.

"When there are four boys in a family there is always a sense of rivalry, and I think that competitive streak is what drives us both on now.

"There is competition in the air within the household each and every day when you are growing up. I think that helps explain why both him and I have that ambition to achieve and do the best we can."

I think it's time to draw a line under this.

Mills sounds like he's been a knob head, but if he's willing now to knuckle down and to accept who's the boss and play for his shirt then I'm happy to see what happens.

I still think that Pearson has probably made an example of him, because it sounds like he had to.

Any city player who wants to put in the graft for the club gets my support.

If Matt Mills has an 'Ego' I don't necessarily think that's a bad thing considering the way he folded against Reading at the beginning of the season.

Perhaps he has now got a bit of perspective and everyone can get on with what's important.

I am not suprised he wants to stay at the Club I can think of £40,000 good reasons why. If he works hard then he should get another chance I still rate him and Bamba as our best 2 centre backs bad attitude or not.

Didn't hear a reaction last night, what was it?

Generally positive. A good 85/90% gave him a decent round of applause.

is it me or is that his brothers words and not one word matts ? what do you think his brother would say ? not convinced yet cus his brother chirps up , wait to hear what matt says , no opinion until .
