What Supercar to drive?

Don't go for the Ferrari.

I did this at a place near Loughborough and the Ferrari I drove was the spider with the H Gate stick and it was hard to drive.

They have other Ferraris there with the paddles but it's the luck of the draw.

The Lambos might be a bit garish but they are more fun.

Shame it was not a perfect experience with the Spyder. As you say, luck of the draw.

The package I have is for driving on a racetrack, one of them is Mallory park, there are others, I think Snetterton might be one. I wont go to Mallory because its quite a small, tight track and I don't think i'll get the full effect of being as flat-out as they'll let me!

I drove a Ferrari 360 at Rockingham last year, pretty awesome. The flappy paddle gears are a bit annoying, get hitting the dip switch lol

I'd go for the Aston

I had a mate who won a day riding around Mallory Park with a racing driver, he was throwing up with travel sickness all day lol.

Got to be the 458. And as you said, Mallory is small, you need a track where you can at least get out of 2nd!

Im sure you will have a great day regardless para.

Personally I'd go for the Lambo. It'd be a toss up between the Gallardo and the Ferrari for me in terms of thrils as you can fling 'em about more than the other options but, as Trav said, I'd opt for the Lambo as I'd much prefer the stick-shift.

Mallory Park is a tight track, Snetterton is decent - driven round there many a time (and had an impressively spectacular crash there too - being cut out of mangled wreckage always makes for an interesting expereince - but I won't dwell on that!)

I've never done that cos it's hard to letch when you're driving at speed but... once in Loughborough a group of female students did lift their shirts and flash their (rather attractive) boobs at me. I was driving normally at the time.

And I get "chatted up" sometimes if i'm on standby in the centre of town at night. But they're always drunk... :(

But it's always the firemen that are reputed to be the heroes...

Even though I have pulled a guy from a burning car once (please don't take that as seeking any plaudits, it was just something I did)

'We' fire fighters are the real heroes and you know it lol

I did my drive at Bruntingthorpe, which is an airfield like the Top Gear circuit. Even though it has the longest runway in the UK (I think) the circuit has fairly short straights and even though I floored it on the longest straight, I only reached 110 mph before I had to brake. I've been faster than that in saloon cars. :(

Having said that the most fun I've ever had in a car was taking my mini through the winding mountain roads of South Wales. I can recommend the A939 too, which I drove last week. It's the highest A-road in the UK.

I did this and drove Ferrari, Lambo and the Aston.

Ferrari - dissapointed to be honest. Always wanted one but didn't was just 'ok'.

Lambo - a beast! Great fun but take some spare boxers. You must drive this one.

Aston - the car I would love to own. Fun but more refined and one you could drive every day

For me, got to be the Gallardo, all day long. Absolutely love Ferraris too but (and I don't know why because I have never driven either) I would always choose the bull over the horse.

That said, I did drive an Aston DB9 near Loughborough once on that airfield and it was very VERY good. But given the choice of those...

Lambo

Astra 1.6 left off the list? What sort of supercar driving experience is this?

Edit: Actually, I think there's a MKIV parked behind that Ferrari. Go for that

lol

Most of the cars are owned by the guy sitting next to you.

As a result you will get no where near flat out I'm afraid, and there are loads of others cars all on the track at the same time so there are allsorts of rules you have to follow.

Oh and they will try and flog you expensive damage waiver with the threat of a huge bill hanging over you if you crash, but you will never get the chance to crash so in my opinion it's a waste of money.

Prestwold Hall is where I went.

I was driven around the alpine circuit at Millbrook by a racing driver in the GT-R. My neck wouldn't sit right for a month afterwards. Great fun.

Just had the driving experience. I drove a Gallardo.

I had to go to a place near York. It was pssing down with rain. I couldn't see much as the windscreen wipers were crap. The "track" is marked out with cones which were very hard to make out through the rain. There were at least 4 other cars going round so had to be careful to avoid them. Only got 3 laps. The first was slow because I didn't know how the car would handle, second a bit quicker but other cars made me wary. The third was best but the rain ruined it really. i didn't push the car too far even though the grip was good but it did understeer a lot in the wet.

The whole thing lasted about 20 mins including the familiarisation lap, the actual drive and the "thrill" lap with a rally driver in a Focus. It cost over £100 and to be honest, I didn't feel it was value for money. Even had to £25 extra for a memory stick to record the drive from inside the car. Given that for £50 I flew a light aircraft for an hour last year.

The Gallardo? Pah.. too harsh and not particularly forgiving but the acceleration is mind-blowing. I wish it had been a dry day.
