ozleicester Posted 23 March 2012 Posted 23 March 2012 Time and time again they roll out the incredibly offensive line "if youve done nothing wrong, youve nothing to fear". Yet again an innocent man is dead. http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/ipad/taser-death-fires-up-weapons-debate/story-fn6bqpju-1226308606118
Steven Posted 23 March 2012 Posted 23 March 2012 Where was the threat? If six policemen cannot stop one person then they should not be in the Police Force.
NeilyBoy Posted 24 March 2012 Posted 24 March 2012 As unfortunate and upsetting as this is, I'm not sure you can blame the police for a taser killing the guy. Massive amounts of bad luck on all sides in this case. Woo-oop woo-oop c'est le son de la police!
The Doctor Posted 24 March 2012 Posted 24 March 2012 I think there's a simple solution. Kill everyone so there's no chance of the police killing someone.
Jaspa Posted 24 March 2012 Posted 24 March 2012 Tazers should be banned ! Theyre used too often and too quick in situations where they're frankly not even needed. What if an inhibited offender has a pacemaker ? Or the person falls flat on their face ? Giving crooked police these isn't going to create anything but bad news. ****ing 'orrible dirty weapons
OzFox Posted 24 March 2012 Posted 24 March 2012 Brazilians don't seem to have much luck when it comes to armed police
stix Posted 24 March 2012 Posted 24 March 2012 As NeilyBoy said i think in this particular case he was very unlucky. However unfortunate he was though using a taser on someone who alledgedly stole a fücking packet of biscuits is unbelievable. That particular police officer should not have needed to use that kind of force with that amount of back up around him. If he had of given it another 10 or so seconds either him or a colleague would have had him on the floor. Power gone mad.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 24 March 2012 Posted 24 March 2012 Tazers should be banned ! Theyre used too often and too quick in situations where they're frankly not even needed. AdamN Posted 24 March 2012 Posted 24 March 2012 If he'd done nothing wrong then why was he running from the police?
Daggers Posted 24 March 2012 Posted 24 March 2012 If he'd done nothing wrong then why was he running from the police? Because, if he was like me, he'd have known that the police continue to lie, use violence and kill people.
acooling08 Posted 24 March 2012 Posted 24 March 2012 What are the Police supposed to do if he was running away? I don't blame the Police for trying to stop a shoplifter from escaping. Obviously the outcome was tragic, but why would he run??
Daggers Posted 24 March 2012 Posted 24 March 2012 Where was the threat? If six policemen cannot stop one person then they should not be in the Police Force. It's almost as if some people are ignoring this post on purpose for some reason. Children, read Steven's post. If you are confused by any of the words feel free to ask for explanations or definitions. I'm sure once you understand it you will realise that he couldn't be more correct.
Zingari Posted 24 March 2012 Posted 24 March 2012 Where was the threat ? Where was the threat ? Goddammit man he nicked a packet of biscuits , what could be more threatening to society ? Surely you remember the bloodshed and mayhem that were Biscuit Wars Have you learned nothing from history ?
Knightonian Posted 24 March 2012 Posted 24 March 2012 A (sort of) similar story.... http://thinkprogress.org/justice/2012/03/18/446768/what-everyone-should-know-about-about-trayvon-martin-1995-2012/?mobile=nc Basically a young black kid was shot in America by a racist (with a long history) who thought the kid was suspicious just because he was black. The police have done nothing.

Phube Posted 24 March 2012 Posted 24 March 2012 I take exception to the thread title, he may not have deserved it, but he wasn't innocent! (That is if he stole the biscuits) Daggers is scared of the police because of all his not quite so legal downloading!
Zingari Posted 24 March 2012 Posted 24 March 2012 We are talking about the theft of a packet of biscuits here aren’t we ? I mean “biscuits” doesn’t mean anything else in modern jive talk like a kilo of heroin or highly explosive semtex or some sort of smack cocaine that old gits like me would be unfamiliar of the terminology is it ? Why the fook has an army of para military militia ( is that a term ?) been sent to take this bloke out ?
Orkneyfox Posted 24 March 2012 Posted 24 March 2012 A (sort of) similar story.... http://thinkprogress...2012/?mobile=nc Basically a young black kid was shot in America by a racist (with a long history) who thought the kid was suspicious just because he was black. The police have done nothing. To be fair the victim was wearing a hoodie! and this is the attitude behind it allhttp://axiomamnesia.com/2012/03/20/george-zimmerman-calls-trayvon-martin-fcking-coon-911-call-audio/
ozleicester Posted 25 March 2012 Author Posted 25 March 2012 Where was the threat? If six policemen cannot stop one person then they should not be in the Police Force. This...a million times this. If he'd done nothing wrong then why was he running from the police? Perhaps he was (justifiably it would seem) feaful of the police? What are the Police supposed to do if he was running away? I don't blame the Police for trying to stop a shoplifter from escaping. Obviously the outcome was tragic, but why would he run?? Six police...Six!!! watch the video, they smash his head into the glass door....and the lawful use of tasers is "only when an officer is under threat" I take exception to the thread title, he may not have deserved it, but he wasn't innocent! (That is if he stole the biscuits) Daggers is scared of the police because of all his not quite so legal downloading! Police have since advised that he did NOT steal the biscuits.

Daggers Posted 25 March 2012 Posted 25 March 2012 it is really inconceivable that he was a faster runner than them? I've met Steven - there's no fvcking way he would be faster than them.
Zingari Posted 25 March 2012 Posted 25 March 2012 it is really inconceivable that he was a faster runner than them? Even if it was Usain Bolt running off with a packet of biscuits , why the need to taser or capsicum ? Surely those methods should be reserved for the restraint of violent offenders in a dangerous situation not apprehending very minor criminals . Australian Medical Association Western Australia head Dr David Mountain has called for police to make public statistics on use of Tasers and subsequent injuries. "They're (Tasers) very painful, they do have side-effects and problems. They should only be used for people who are very aggressive and very dangerous to control," he said. "They (police) have to make the public aware of how useful these devices are and use them appropriately to maintain the trust of the public."
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 25 March 2012 Posted 25 March 2012 Pretty simple really don't anything that will put you in a situation to be tasered!
