RonnieTodger Posted 3 April 2012 Posted 3 April 2012 How highly does everybody rate him? I can't see what he gives to the team that other centre backs can't. Sure, he did well when he first stepped in for Mills but he loses his man so often and I thought he was shambolic on Saturday. I think he's our most overrated player, by a mile and is only so well loved for the brief spell he came and performed well. I'm not scapegoating him for our defeat on Saturday, but I've said it for months now, and I just cannot see his appeal. I like him and want him to do well, but for me I think he's our 4th best centre back.
Lambert09 Posted 3 April 2012 Posted 3 April 2012 I think he is our best defender..... that doesnt count for much
absolutelegend Posted 3 April 2012 Posted 3 April 2012 I think he is our best defender..... that doesnt count for much He is the only player I have ever seen outpaced by fatty fryatt. I don't mind him as a player, but when I read that he had been kicked out of cheltenham a few days before our biggest game of the season I lost all respect for him to be honest. IMO not how I want a professional footballer at my club to be behaving
Fox92 Posted 3 April 2012 Posted 3 April 2012 I think he is our best defender IMO. Good on the ball, good in the air, technical and versatile.
Raw Dykes Posted 3 April 2012 Posted 3 April 2012 I wouldn't be shocked if he was sold on in the summer. I think he did have a very good spell, but he's not been that great, really. There are rumours right now that James Chester is a done deal.
TheUltimateWinner Posted 3 April 2012 Posted 3 April 2012 St Ledger is our best defender, Willing to put his body on the line and actually cares about the team.
absolutelegend Posted 3 April 2012 Posted 3 April 2012 if he is our best then we have probs. he is slow, bad in the air, and his distribution questionable. but hey, what do i know?
cc_star Posted 3 April 2012 Posted 3 April 2012 if he is our best then we have probs. he is slow, bad in the air, and his distribution questionable. but hey, what do i know? One of the best passers of the ball there is... for his position of course
HEGGSY Posted 3 April 2012 Posted 3 April 2012 One of the best passers of the ball there is... for his position of course Pfft. He's easily better than Xavi.
FrankieADZ Posted 3 April 2012 Posted 3 April 2012 hes ok, but I rate Morgan & players like James Chester more highly. He is the only player I have ever seen outpaced by fatty fryatt. he couldnt catch Fryatt when he scored against us last week defo says something...ur right
Fox92 Posted 3 April 2012 Posted 3 April 2012 if he is our best then we have probs. he is slow, bad in the air, and his distribution questionable. but hey, what do i know? Wouldn't say he is poor in the air. And, his distribution is good for a centre back, he will come out with the ball if offered. Don't understand why people add "what do I know?" as well, leaves it open a bit
carlhltid Posted 3 April 2012 Posted 3 April 2012 Dont like him i wouldnt have him on the subs bench hes crap
Out Foxed Posted 3 April 2012 Posted 3 April 2012 if we're getting shack monster and chester. get rid for some dough.
HoustonFox Posted 3 April 2012 Posted 3 April 2012 Wasn't convinced at first but he's won me over. I think he is an extremely competent and tidy defender. He is strong in the air, reads the game well and has very good distribution. After watching Chester play for Hull against us, I didn't think he was massively better than SSL.

Don't understand why people add "what do I know?" as well, leaves it open a bit I don't understand why people put it either. But what do I know?

RowlattsFox Posted 3 April 2012 Posted 3 April 2012 Decent enough player, nothing more in my opinion. I think he needs a good defender alongside him, like he has with Dunne for Ireland.
absolutelegend Posted 3 April 2012 Posted 3 April 2012 Don't understand why people add "what do I know?" as well, leaves it open a bit i'm sorry
Fox92 Posted 3 April 2012 Posted 3 April 2012 i'm sorry Its ok, why say sorry? Just thought it may leave it slightly open for people who like winding others up
Dan Posted 3 April 2012 Posted 3 April 2012 Over-rated. He's not bad but he's too inconsistent, occasionally has a great game but often is left beaten for pace and beaten in the air. He seems a top laugh on Twitter though.
HoustonFox Posted 3 April 2012 Posted 3 April 2012 Its ok, why say sorry? Just thought it may leave it slightly open for people who like winding others up Surely it's just better to state what you think and be done. That's why it's called an opinion. They're like arseholes, everyone has one... I think SSL is good. What do I know? A lot of useless facts actually, whether I am an expert on player attributes, that's up for debate. - I actually covered as manager last week in our league match and we lost 6-0! So probably not a lot. Can't believe a girl scored against me (they count as 2!).
absolutelegend Posted 3 April 2012 Posted 3 April 2012 Can't believe a girl scored against me (they count as 2!). That should also apply to Beckford's goals
HoustonFox Posted 3 April 2012 Posted 3 April 2012 That should also apply to Beckford's goals This girl was waaaaaaaaay better than Beckford. She won a header...
LCFC_Bradders Posted 3 April 2012 Posted 3 April 2012 Dont see what he offers that Mills doesnt tbh, other than slightly better distribution. He gets beaten in the air far too often tho IMO.
