Guest Posted 5 April 2012 Posted 5 April 2012 Good post. We'll agree to disagree Thanks Everyone sees everything differently, but that's what post-match pub discussions are for.
yorkie1999 Posted 5 April 2012 Posted 5 April 2012 Then its pretty irrelevant as we didn't get the right points total. And a goalkeeper running for anything when they're winning would be a novelty, Sarcasm doesn't come over on the internet, does it!!
Babylon Posted 5 April 2012 Posted 5 April 2012 Hang on a minute!!!!! You're not meant to talk sense like that!!! You're meant to just hate NP or love him aren't you??? This seems like a rational and reasoned sensible opinion!!! Where are the mods????? Coming from the man unable to accept other people have a say in transfers other than a manager.
dedlock Posted 5 April 2012 Posted 5 April 2012 This thread is a heaving, steaming bucket of bullshit! Journalists thrive on fiction, contriving crap and twisting the flimsiest comment into some confection of their invention.Take this tabloid tittle tattle with an enormous pinch of salt. Up the City !!
5waller5 Posted 5 April 2012 Posted 5 April 2012 Coming from the man unable to accept other people have a say in transfers other than a manager. I don't even know what point you are trying to make babylon.
Jakemoore Posted 5 April 2012 Posted 5 April 2012 Do you know why this story came about.....the media wanted it to, simple as, the media need a negative story, they feed on it! And NP doesn't give a flying flume what they write about LCFC and the players! If he has a problem with a player then you'll know by his next team selection i.e Matt Mills! Beckford deserves credit for the way he's handled this, he clearly wants to be at the KP playing for Citerh, and I for one want him here!
cc_star Posted 5 April 2012 Posted 5 April 2012 And Pearson has now been quoted as saying to Stringer "I have no control over the spin people put on things". Interesting.... Seeing as it was RL who spun something out of nothing in the first place, to get the ****** phoning in making up crap about NP or saying Beckford's a lazy c-word... instantly full phone lines, no hard work needed getting people to phone in next day it plays out on here too day after papers pick it up & fill the space they get paid to fill Idiots will still take from this that NP can't handle players, or that Beckford's a lazy prima dona. All over nothing...

Bert Posted 5 April 2012 Posted 5 April 2012 Exactly what some people consistently said all along, whereas the usual ****** used it to further the figment of their imagination that NP can't handle egos Indeed. I said it an hour after the game and it got laughed off. Oh well.
Captain... Posted 5 April 2012 Posted 5 April 2012 Did you hear the post match interview where NP said the matter would be dealt with internally??? Do you get the fact that is has been, with minimum of fuss and that everything was done and dusted by the time they were on the team bus home?
5waller5 Posted 5 April 2012 Posted 5 April 2012 Do you get the fact that is has been, with minimum of fuss and that everything was done and dusted by the time they were on the team bus home? Yep .... exactly as it should have been. Shame NP didn't just laugh it off and say it was no big deal in his interview. Then he wouldn't have pages after page of arguing about how he handles egos / players / media.
Guest shearfox Posted 5 April 2012 Posted 5 April 2012 Beckford has certainly looked a different player since Pearson arrived and I'm glad this has all been cleared up. Hopefully he will be playing alongside Nugent again at Donny, he is fantastic when playing upfront with someone.

You're preaching to the converted on that one, NP needs to improve his media handling, because at the moment he is just digging holes for himself.

Perhaps at the time he thought it was slightly more serious although not enough to cause a shit storm and then subsequently he dealt with it internally and they had a grown up conversation about it and resolved it.
Guest Col city fan Posted 6 April 2012 Posted 6 April 2012 You're preaching to the converted on that one, NP needs to improve his media handling, because at the moment he is just digging holes for himself. I wonder whether Pearson would actually give a monkeys about your opinion on him 'digging holes for himself'. He strikes me as the type who gets on with it in his own way. I like his no bollox approach and it's majorly refreshing after having to listen to Sven's interviews which effectively said nothing. Pearson is emotive in some of his interviews.. Yes, not fashionable in today's media driven world, but id rather actually hear the feeling in his voice than have to listen to some pre rehearsed, meaningless patter.

He may not give a monkeys about the fans opinion ... which is why he'll never have a top job or a particularly strong bond with the fan base .... which is why he'll be sacked earlier than managers that do. He'd do well to learn that and not be so arrogant. I am genuinely surprised that you think that he's emotional and that he says anything in interview ... that's the great thing abut football we all see it differently .... But I used to like Sven because he DID share his views in interviews and you could tell when he wasn't happy.... NP for me, is the closed book, say nothing kind of interviewee. But hey .... that's why we're all here .... to see it our way and discuss our own views on it!

Stevosevic Posted 6 April 2012 Posted 6 April 2012 Just watched this video, scored every type of goal for Leeds and i really believe he is starting to find his form for us. Will be a massive player for us next year, if he stays. I don't think we could sign a striker with a better scoring record.
Happy Fox Posted 6 April 2012 Posted 6 April 2012 I know it is a cliche but we need to play to his strengths whether we have the personnel to consistently do that remains to be seen. If we are going for a 4-4-2 formation we need a target man as one of the front two with Nugent/Beckford competing for that second spot.

Yes, not fashionable in today's media driven world, but id rather actually hear the feeling in his voice than have to listen to some pre rehearsed, meaningless patter. Beckford also probably doesn't care about your views on him, but you still post them. I think Sven gave much more open interviews than NP, that is why he always had the media eating out of his hands, because he would be very open, very friendly and give them what they want, without giving away anything he didn't want. NP may show emotion in an interview, but it is always one of boredom and contempt for the interviewer, normally Stringer, if you think his interviews are not pre-rehearsed, you are wrong, it is just he is still so uncomfortable being interviewed that they may not seem it. Stringer is not a great interviewer so that doesn't help and Pearson is fine when talking about the game, and he won't be drawn on issues of discipline and anything that could affect squad morale, fair enough, but he does it in such a way that it makes matter worse everytime. I am a big fan of NP and I don't judge him as a manager by his media persona, but I just don't understand why he makes it worse for himself. Take the lastest on this Beckford non-story: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17630889 Nigel Pearson tight-lipped on rumours of Beckford row Leicester City boss Nigel Pearson has refused to deny rumours of a bust-up with Jermaine Beckford but insists the striker is still in his plans. Reports had suggested Pearson was unhappy with Beckford for apparently not going forward for a free-kick in Saturday's loss against Peterborough. Beckford, who has 14 goals for the Foxes this season, is in the squad to face Doncaster Rovers on Saturday. "He's training and is in contention," Pearson told BBC Radio Leicester. "I've got no control over how much spin is attached to stories or half-stories that appear in the national media. What goes on behind closed doors will remain firmly there. "How information gets out I don't know. You are making the assumption that the information out there is accurate." He has refused to deny it, why? Because something did happen, or because he just didn't want to talk about it, but still did and again has muddied the waters after it looked like it had all been cleared up. If the wasn't an incident, why not just deny it, if there was just lie and say there wasn't, or just play it down and say there was a disagreement on what happened on the pitch, like all matters on the pitch it is was resolved quickly in the dressing room after the match and there is now no problem. If pressed further just say that what happens in the dressing stays in there and he is not going to discuss that with the media, but rest assured the matter is now dealt with and Jermaine will be availble for selection on Saturday as normal. Done, dealt with, over, instead we have had a week of made bollox. The Mills incident is different as clearly what happened was more serious, but when the Sky Sports reporter asked NP about how SSL and Morgan had performed and he just went off on one about how he wasn't going to talk about Mills, was just bizarre.
LCFC FOX Posted 6 April 2012 Posted 6 April 2012 I said it from when I got home from Saturday. Now I can't see anyone telling me I'm wrong now you see I'm right. About 50 people hating me for that. God I loved it when this came out
