Parafox Posted 13 April 2012 Posted 13 April 2012 I know he's long gone from the Presidency, but I was looking for some stuff to do with the double entendre thread and came across some of the things Mr B said during his time in office. Some are funny, but was he very stupid or very ignorant? If you have any that have stuck in your mind... "I couldn't imagine somebody like Osama bin Laden understanding the joy of Hanukkah." "I know how hard it is for you to put food on your family." "They misunderestimated me." "I know the human being and fish can coexist peacefully."
Rincewind Posted 13 April 2012 Posted 13 April 2012 I think I put some of his quotes up once and got a couple of negative replies commenting about the 'other side' make foolish comments too. I did not look at it that way. A stupid statement is a stupid statement and George Bush seems to have made more than his fair share. There are whole websites dedicated to his blunders. 48. "You teach a child to read, and he or her will be able to pass a literacy test." -Townsend, Tenn., Feb. 21, 2001
ozleicester Posted 13 April 2012 Posted 13 April 2012 The man was a genius...oops i mis-spelt that... the man was a total cvnt

Maybe the mods should scrap this, then
Zingari Posted 13 April 2012 Posted 13 April 2012 He doesn't seem to be a very good liar either http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aRtsJEVp-p0&feature=related
jonthefox Posted 13 April 2012 Posted 13 April 2012 My favourite. "over 75 per cent of our imports come from overseas ".
Zingari Posted 13 April 2012 Posted 13 April 2012 My favourite. "over 75 per cent of our imports come from overseas ". Couldn't the rest come from Canada and Mexico ?
Pete_foxes Posted 13 April 2012 Posted 13 April 2012 Stupid, Ignorant or an extremely clever and elaborate PR stunt? Politicians are advised on tiny details like which colour shirt or tie to wear for a particular speech . Its hard to believe he would be allowed to make such big mistakes without another motive.
purpleronnie Posted 13 April 2012 Posted 13 April 2012 He doesn't seem to be a very good liar either http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aRtsJEVp-p0&feature=related So he knew? Your funny zingy.
Zingari Posted 13 April 2012 Posted 13 April 2012 So he knew? Your funny zingy. I'm saying he is obviously lying about many of the events of 911 , you can put your own interpretation of why Good liars need very good memories and GWB doesn't

Zingari Posted 13 April 2012 Posted 13 April 2012 ooh picky picky. i didn't really want to make excuses for him
Zingari Posted 13 April 2012 Posted 13 April 2012 I'll put it down to him being an idiot. ok fine , but when an idiot gets to be in charge you can bet there are some very clever people pulling his strings
Jaspa Posted 13 April 2012 Posted 13 April 2012 ' . . . . Now Watch This Drive.' Doubt very much the man even had full control over his bowels
lavrentis Posted 13 April 2012 Posted 13 April 2012 I looked at vids of Bush in his early years and he seemed quite bright and well spoken, far from the dumb image he portrayed whilst president. Awaits El Empty conspiracy.
Rincewind Posted 13 April 2012 Posted 13 April 2012 I can't remember it exactly and cannot find it but didn't he say something like the enemey are killing our soldiers and America are doing the same?
OzFox Posted 14 April 2012 Posted 14 April 2012 A few people have said that he's really smart, but has the unfortunate habit of freezing up in front of the media and talking bollocks Probably not a good thing when you're President of the USA

OzFox Posted 14 April 2012 Posted 14 April 2012 How few ? 2? 3 ? 2 that I can think of. Bono and er, Rupert Murdoch. And probably his Mum
Webbo Posted 14 April 2012 Posted 14 April 2012 One of his ex-speechwriters was interviewed on Radio 5 once he said most people think that he (dubya) is nice but dumb but they're wrong on both counts.

He shot himself in the foot there If his speech writer thinks he looks dumb , then surely he must shoulder some of the blame for it himself . He should have wrote better speeches for him .
Daggers Posted 14 April 2012 Posted 14 April 2012 I'm betting I can think of one politician who is more stupid than Bush.
Captain... Posted 14 April 2012 Posted 14 April 2012 I looked at vids of Bush in his early years and he seemed quite bright and well spoken, far from the dumb image he portrayed whilst president. Awaits El Empty conspiracy. There was a video going round showing the difference and also described the symptoms of a degenerative brain disease, I can't find that one, because it wasn't Alzheimers, but it is similar to this one: I can't remember it exactly and cannot find it but didn't he say something like the enemey are killing our soldiers and America are doing the same? "Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we." - Washington, D.C., August 5, 2004 Incidentally at the end of the above video. Edit: I have put the video in now, I'm not sure where it went before
