Steven Posted 14 April 2012 Posted 14 April 2012 Latest Team News City boss Nigel Pearson makes two changes from the side that beat Ipswich Town 2-1 last Monday. The two changes come in the midfield, with Paul Gallagher and Andy King returning to the starting line-up, in place of Lloyd Dyer and Danny Drinkwater, who are both on the substitute's bench. City: Schmeichel, Peltier, Bamba, Morgan, Konchesky, Gallagher, Wellens, King, Marshall, Beckford, Nugent Subs: Howard, Dyer, St Ledger, Drinkwater, Schlupp
HEGGSY Posted 14 April 2012 Posted 14 April 2012 Two changes for City at Millwall: Schmeichel, Peltier, Konchesky, Bamba, Gallagher, King, Wellens ©, Beckford, Marshall, Morgan, Nugent.
Charl91 Posted 14 April 2012 Posted 14 April 2012 Wellens, King and Gallagher? All of a sudden I'm not very confident about this at all. Expecting a loss.
Fox 4 Life Posted 14 April 2012 Posted 14 April 2012 No width at all in that side, prefer gally off the bench personally! COYB
Lambert09 Posted 14 April 2012 Posted 14 April 2012 Poor pooor choice by Pearson. Gally and King are effective off the bench but this certainly a drinkwater type of game not a Gally. Lost a bit of that pre match expectation now. Hoping Gally proves me wrong and puts in one of his top performances
marko Posted 14 April 2012 Posted 14 April 2012 Sadly, I don't think a Wellens, King and Gallagher midfield will be up to the job. Personally would have preferred Drinkwater in for King with King coming off the bench if necessary.
Happy Fox Posted 14 April 2012 Posted 14 April 2012 Biggest game of the season, King and Wellens in the centre of the park doesn't fill me with much confidence.. any way lets hope we get a win.
leftsideoverhere Posted 14 April 2012 Posted 14 April 2012 Prepared to give this the benefit of the doubt. Bringing Gally and King on at half time won us the game at Ipswich. I've thought for a while Dyer would be better coming off the bench, and if NP is now prepared to make early substitutions as per Portman Road then we've got the options on the bench to change things up.
MattyFromLE Posted 14 April 2012 Posted 14 April 2012 Stop whinging. We'll win, get behind the lads? Pearson can always make changes with a strong bench.
Fox 4 Life Posted 14 April 2012 Posted 14 April 2012 They kicked the shit out of us at our place, that's the way they play, gally is not the kinda player for this game - Drinkwater would have relished this
Babylon Posted 14 April 2012 Posted 14 April 2012 I remember people slating them when they came on last week and they changed the game. So how about give it a chance.
Swalker Posted 14 April 2012 Posted 14 April 2012 COME ON!!!!! BELIEVE :scarf: :scarf: You could look on the bright side of our changes and say we have our top 3 scorers on the pitch at once!
Ric Flair Posted 14 April 2012 Posted 14 April 2012 Gallagher needs to silence his critics once more. Come on you blue boys. By all accounts Gally and King have been the difference vs Doncaster and Ipswich so it's only right they are rewarded. Let's hope they do the business, if not the bench looks strong.
Foxhateram Posted 14 April 2012 Posted 14 April 2012 Exciting looking midfield wellens and king with the grit and marshal and gally with the skill. I guess NFP wants to outnumber in the middle of the park, lets face it thats the way they are going to play, down the middle. good decision Nige. Confident for this to work. Come on you blue boys!
whoareyaaa Posted 14 April 2012 Posted 14 April 2012 Could soon backfire by bringing these two back 11-1 Millwall Ghost with our goal.
Foxhateram Posted 14 April 2012 Posted 14 April 2012 Are there any city supporting people on this board anymore? Via a few people, I can only see moaning, whinging wannabee football managers who know next to nothing about football. Jesus gang lighten up a bit!
Charl91 Posted 14 April 2012 Posted 14 April 2012 It's not so much a problem with Gallagher (as much as I'm not a massive fan), rather that I'd much prefer Dyer to start. Also Wellens and King are fine individually, but I don't like them as a midfield pair.
Happy Fox Posted 14 April 2012 Posted 14 April 2012 Come on City lets f**king batter them, 3-0 victory Beckford hattrick

I agree with the Wellens/King combo though doesnt work IMO.

Via a few people, I can only see moaning, whinging wannabee football managers who know next to nothing about football. Jesus gang lighten up a bit! Completely agree. All this moaning and whinging gets on my ****ing tits. Last season people were singing kings name, he's had a bad half of a season, let's hope he picks his form up which I'm sure he will. We're 3 points from play offs, not the relegation zone, pessimism isn't going to get us anywhere.

Did we sign a new bloke also called Paul Gallagher this week?
