Pearsons replacement?

If the squad he has struggle's in the championship next season then you never know..

So if he fails he can be our manager?

Posted

If people really do want NP to go then I fear for our fans sanity. The one thing we are crying out for is stability. Look at the top of the Championship, both managers have had time to imprint their personality on the team, to get 11 players playing THEIR way, all on the same page. It might not be the most exciting football but the least we can do is let NP have a go with HIS squad playing how HE wants them to, after a full pre-season.

I'm willing to give Pearson more time but I have to say he has been pissing me off lately:

Really don't understand why he thinks its wise or even acceptable to be so curt when talking to the press. Fair enough if its for Sky or some other national coverage but when its RL doesn't he realise that if he gives Stringer short shrift he is basically just giving the fans short shrift?

Also, bringing on Howard when we've got Schlupp sat there makes very little sense as far as I can see.

The Matt Mills situation is just ridiculous, made more so by the fact that nobody seems willing to tell us what the **** is actually going on.

And I have serious doubts about his ability to impose his philosophy on the team and get them playing in line with his vision about how they should (if he even has one).

So for me he's got time but he's also got a hell of a lot of work to do to convince me.

So you did'nt see him crying after they had just won promotion yesterday.

The guy loves the addicts and I for one would not want him back to get abbused after 2 games.

Long Live Chrissy P but not with us he don't deserve that.

Ohhh so Pearson has been sacked then.....I'm guessing that's why we're naming his replacement candidates....unreal.

Right because waiting until the incumbent has actually gone before discussing possible replacements worked so well for Wolves and for us when Sven went?

The only way we are going to be able to build a team is by Pearson staying...anyone thinking we need a change again!!!! should look at how well that's worked in the past!!! we need a consistent team and squad...just looking at the likes of swansea, norwich, southampton etc...players that have been playing for time...and probably add charlton to that next season...qpr tried to buy a team with good prem players-doesn't seem to be working-we tried too!!!

Exactly!

Can anyone remember what happened last time Pearson left? I think the people who want NP sacked are forgetting that there isn't a manager out there who can guarantee success. Maybe the next manager we get will be the next O'Neill, but it's just as likely he'll be the next Sousa.

It's far too early to tell whether NP's the right manager for us. He deserves the imminent close season to prove he is. That's what it boils down to.

What guarantee is there that he will improve?

He's had 27 games this time around and the failings of the team are exactly the same as they were under Eriksson.

This thread seriously needs to be closed, Nigel is still the manager, 90% of people on this site want him to remain manager and all of this could be discussed in the Pearson Out thread. :/

And a lot of people including myself think Eriksson was sacked to soon. He wasn't given enough of a chance. If we sack Pearson now or at the end of the season we'll be a laughing stock, and rightly so.

Teams. Aren't. Built. Over. Night.

It's not a hard concept to understand. Fair enough if you didn't think he was the right man for the job in the first place but the owners do and sacking him would be seriously stupid.

If there were any evidence that progress was being made under him, I'd be happy to give him a pre-season.

But so far, all he's done is reduce the depth of the squad, while desperately clinging to the same core of players who failed his two successors/predecessors.
