Stevosevic Posted 17 April 2012 Posted 17 April 2012 Imagine if Charlton had CP sacked after his poor half season last year.
accessory Posted 17 April 2012 Posted 17 April 2012 And a lot of people including myself think Eriksson was sacked to soon. He wasn't given enough of a chance. If we sack Pearson now or at the end of the season we'll be a laughing stock, and rightly so. Like we're not a laughing stock now? Ask Peterborough, Bristol City or Millwall fans what they think of us.
kingfox Posted 17 April 2012 Posted 17 April 2012 Lose tonight and against West Ham or Leeds or even both, frankly I don't want Pearson as our manager. Shouldn't of been appointed in the first place, wrong decision, has messed up his status at our club from a hero to a failure, and hasn't done a very good job at all since taking over. Billy Davies Lee Clark Chris Powell Ian Holloway Karl Robinson Any of them, if not we will be fooked next season in my opinion. We need a manager with play off pedigree or a young manager who will have big aspirations. Some people may say Davies and Holloway choices are poor, but both have play off pedigree inside them, and Holloway is far better than Pearson, and when we went down to League 1, we should of stuck with Holloway, what he has done with Blackpool tells you everything.

Raw Dykes Posted 17 April 2012 Posted 17 April 2012 If there were any evidence that progress was being made under him, I'd be happy to give him a pre-season. But so far, all he's done is reduce the depth of the squad, Yeah, cos Ball, Oakley, Johnson, Moussa and Berner were first team regulars who definitely would have made a difference. Before you bring up Fernandes, he was only here as a favour to Sven. He wasn't hanging around for anyone else. NP didn't get rid of him. That leaves Abe, who was homesick, rumoured to be on £40k a week and wasn't one of the first names on the team sheet. while desperately clinging to the same core of players who failed his two successors/predecessors. What are you talking about? What do you expect NP to do? Pick the u-18s instead? He picked Danns whenever he was available. Drinkwater and Marshall play often, despite them both being young players for the future. Beckford and Nugent always start ahead of Howard, who might well only be involved at all because of injuries to both Vassell and Waghorn. NP has only had a January transfer window to sign players. We all know it's a bad time to do business. In that window, he brought in two young midfielders. Clearly, he's already started replacing that core of players who were brought in to do a job in the 3rd tier, or to consolidate in this division the season after. That core of players was bought when both our expectations and our budget was considerably lower. Two managers since have had a chance to replace them but failed, or didn't want to. Now NP's back, and before he's had a decent chance to buy and sell, you're slagging him off for picking the only players he's got available to him. Tell me, how do you pick a midfield from the currently available players we have, without including that core of players who were here before NP left?
flowwolf Posted 17 April 2012 Posted 17 April 2012 Are you serious ? Holloway took this club to it's lowest position in any league in it's entire history.Oh yes let's have him back.
kingfox Posted 17 April 2012 Posted 17 April 2012 Are you serious ? Holloway took this club to it's lowest position in any league in it's entire history.Oh yes let's have him back. Megson's fault that was, Holloway came into a difficult sitution and couldn't manage to keep us up. He is the best manager in the Championship is Holloway, shouldn't of got rid.

I think Holloway said he did a lot of reflecting after being relegated with us, so if we'd have kept him, we may well not have had the same Holloway that Blackpool have now.

Fmfox Posted 17 April 2012 Posted 17 April 2012 how about give pearson pre season and he will show you that he can make a solid team challenging for promotion
ARM1968 Posted 17 April 2012 Posted 17 April 2012 How about we haven't got any say in the matter. This year has been poor for many reasons and yet we are still not miles away from the play offs. Pearson will sort it next season for sure. But after that? I don't see him as a Prem manager. Not enough flair or imagination. He's the sort of grunting bulldog you need in the championship though!!
Haydos Posted 17 April 2012 Posted 17 April 2012 Like we're not a laughing stock now? Ask Peterborough, Bristol City or Millwall fans what they think of us. So you don't disagree that it would be a farce to sack Pearson? It's not like we're at the lowest of lows, far from it, we've just tried a certain approach and it hasn't worked.

Can't think why...

Legend_in_blue Posted 17 April 2012 Posted 17 April 2012 Taking in the atmosphere as well then where you? I agree our 'support' is awful. When there's only one shot at target in the second half which involved us playing it back to their keeper for an injury, if you can call it that, what do you expect the fans to do? Scream and go mental? The only time I was cheering on was at half time when two decent footballers stepped out onto the pitch. I'm struggling to think who will have similar effect in 15 years time...

I don't expect them to boo a player before they've gone on the pitch.
MC Prussian Posted 17 April 2012 Posted 17 April 2012 I think we should replace Pearson and install a managerial position which can be held by about one thousand disgruntled and unhappy Pearson haters. They'll surely do a better job than him. Anyone will do.
