Guest Bilo Posted 21 April 2012 Posted 21 April 2012 Something about Coventry deliberately playing for a draw in the early 70s to save their own skin and send Sunderland down when Old Chin was their manager.
LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 21 April 2012 Posted 21 April 2012 They just can't take abit of fun can they.. You have been banned for the following reason: cock Date the ban will be lifted: Never

FrankieADZ Posted 21 April 2012 Posted 21 April 2012 fair play to some of the Cov fans saying "what comes around goes around" for what some of them did when we went down
Tom17LCFC Posted 21 April 2012 Posted 21 April 2012 Something about Coventry deliberately playing for a draw in the early 70s to save their own skin and send Sunderland down when Old Chin was their manager. WTF is that laugh at 0:52 hahaha
marko Posted 21 April 2012 Posted 21 April 2012 http://www.readytogo...ad.php?t=630766 I think it is something to do with Jimmy Hill. The Coventry/Sunderland/Jimmy Chin matter is explained in here - http://www.sunderlandecho.com/sport/fans-revenge-on-fulham-legend-jimmy-hill-1-1054248
Leicesterpool Posted 21 April 2012 Posted 21 April 2012 There not coming back for a while, can't see it. I think Cov next season in League one there will finish more mid table, Pompey might bounce straight back up, Donny the same as cov. Will Andy Thorn remain?
THEFATBASTARD Posted 21 April 2012 Posted 21 April 2012 play up sky blues ! play the fooking up!...ha,ha,ha...
acooling08 Posted 21 April 2012 Posted 21 April 2012 I don't knwo if it's been posted above but my dad has told me why Sunderland hate Cov. Basically in 1977 Cov and Bristol City played for a draw to relegate Sunderland. Sunderland were losing elsewhere and Cov/BC only needed a point to stay up so both teams basically stood there with the ball waiting for the whistle.
cambridgefox Posted 21 April 2012 Posted 21 April 2012 some good stuff on the Sunderland forum. They are up to 17 pages.

Also, Jimmy Hill who was chairman of Cov, delayed the start of the match by 15 mins due to "crowd trouble". Then after finding Sunderland had lost to Everton - meaning Cov and Bristol only needed a draw - announced the result over the loud speaker and then both Cov and Bristol basically gave up and didn't try so they both survived at Sunderlands expense.

That is a bit unfair tbh I can see why Sunderland would be upset by that! Quite a long time ago though!
BlueSi13 Posted 21 April 2012 Posted 21 April 2012 Small club. No fans. Nobody remembers them in the Premier League. Nobody will miss them in the Championship. Nobody will care about them in League 1. The end.
Corky Posted 21 April 2012 Posted 21 April 2012 From the Deputy Chairman: If that it a widely held belief then there will be problems. We didn't go into that season thinking we'd be the main scalp, because we weren't. And anyway, it's not something to boast about.
LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 21 April 2012 Posted 21 April 2012 I feel sorry for Andy Thorn though, had a tough job on his hands, got rid of a few of there good players and then doesn't get anything to replace them with. http://www.skybluest...ty-General-Chat Read out and laugh Read a few of the threads it's not there owners fault Not renewing the season tickets Some person said he would not pay to watch them while the owners are in charge, jesus christ loyal supporter
Leicesterpool Posted 21 April 2012 Posted 21 April 2012 looking at the club statement it hints that Thorn's future is uncertain. To be honest doesn't deserve to be sacked he's playing a youth squad week in week out. However if there looking to bounce back to the championship straight away they need to get somebody who knows league one like the back of his hand. I know we had Pearson who never managed in the third tier of football but he had a cheque book, plus a few good championship players. Cov have just got a youth squad with an empty wallet, for them I'd recommend Phil Brown. More than likely who they can just about afford, Davies would be there best choice but can you really see him turning up Cov I mean really. Fingers crossed they stick with Thorn so they won't bounce straight back up

SantiagoFox Posted 21 April 2012 Posted 21 April 2012 Wonder how many of those Cov twats who were at Charlton celebrating our relegation last time were there today in the half-empty Ricoh ? Good riddance !
Maybes Posted 21 April 2012 Posted 21 April 2012 Not really that bothered to be honest. They've been a nothing club for years. Just glad its another shite away day off the calendar.
21st Century Fox Posted 21 April 2012 Posted 21 April 2012 Who ever is trolling their board want to mention to that Jag tw@t that Noble sports cars are built in Leicester.
