StanSP Posted 29 April 2012 Posted 29 April 2012 Roy Hodgson has been given permission by WBA to speak to England about the job.
Libertine Posted 29 April 2012 Posted 29 April 2012 I imagine they'll approach a few at the same time. Not going to put all their eggs in Redknapp's basket only for him to stay put.
I am Rod Hull Posted 29 April 2012 Posted 29 April 2012 Roy Hodgson has been given permission by WBA to speak to England about the job.
Guest shearfox Posted 29 April 2012 Posted 29 April 2012 Roy Hodgson has been given permission by WBA to speak to England about the job. I think he would be a good appointment, got international experience and was fairly successful getting the most out of the limited players he had. He wasn't given enough time at Liverpool, due to the fact he wasn't a big name so had the Liverpool fans on his back from the off.
Libertine Posted 29 April 2012 Posted 29 April 2012 Says 'only manager approached'. Probably means so far tbh.
21st Century Fox Posted 29 April 2012 Posted 29 April 2012 I wouldn't be upset if Woy got the job. He did a great job with Switzerland and has more international experience than most. He's kind of hit and miss. Can't see him getting it though.
Jaspa Posted 29 April 2012 Posted 29 April 2012 Hes obviously one alot of people don't really want, because of his headbanging and what happened at L'pool But I guess it shows were after an English manager, or sky want more people to bet Got another great pic of Harry if anyone wants that on here

The media will rape him hard, too hard....
Libertine Posted 29 April 2012 Posted 29 April 2012 He looked like he was going to have a breakdown five minutes into his time at L'pool. Imagine how it'd be in this job, especially with the press all yearning for Redknapp.
21st Century Fox Posted 29 April 2012 Posted 29 April 2012 He dealt with ridiculous media pressure when he was at Inter. At Liverpool it seemed to be the fans that got to him more than the media did. I can't see the England job having that kind of fan pressure as it's not a week in week out thing with the fans. I still don't see him getting it though.

They've approached him, with no sign of them approaching anyone else as yet, why can't you see him getting it?
21st Century Fox Posted 29 April 2012 Posted 29 April 2012 They've approached him, with no sign of them approaching anyone else as yet, why can't you see him getting it? They'll be approaching more candidates than just him. Unless Spurs really did their heels in ( ) they're going to get an almighty backlash for not even approaching Redknapp. This has only come out because they've had to get permission from WBA just to speak to him. I wouldn't mind him though, I have fond memories of his Inter days.
marko Posted 29 April 2012 Posted 29 April 2012 Geoff Shreeves is off to 'Arry Redknapp's to tell him he won't be managing England this summer.

Guesty Posted 29 April 2012 Posted 29 April 2012 Think he'd be good. He has the tactics which is what you really need at international level. Reason most people don't want him is because he's boring and not a personality. I think that could be a good thing, but the media won't like it. Gives him chance to show Liverpool fans what he can do, but I think they've already realised after the King got his squad spent over £100 mill and they're doing worse in the league.
Libertine Dream Posted 29 April 2012 Posted 29 April 2012 Decent choice in my opinion. Done well at international level previously, handles the media well, great guy, not done bad at most clubs, good relationship with people and West Brom play football away from home how international teams should pay away.
Super_horns Posted 29 April 2012 Posted 29 April 2012 If its down to having an English manager I'd rather have Hodgson than media darling Harry because of his international experience and not just relying on buying players BUT not the most inspiring person I guess for the fans and press.
LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 29 April 2012 Posted 29 April 2012 He's a good manager, has done good with West Brom this season, had a good spell at Fulham aswell!
Milton Keynes Fox Posted 29 April 2012 Posted 29 April 2012 Managed Switzerland got them to 3rd best team in world, Got Fulham to Europa League finals, Liverpool didn't give him enough time and he has done more or less the same job Dalglish has been doing on much less money either, Liverpool was never prepared to give Roy the money for players like Suarez, Downing, Henderson, Carroll etc, Got West brom on small budget to 10th in the table and they play really good football for a small side. Massive experience at every level!
