Jace Posted 4 May 2012 Posted 4 May 2012 They need to get more people to stay behind afterwards and spend the money they do in the pubs at the ground. I have been to the Tigers and after the match there has been bars still open with either bands or a DJ, in a good atmosphere with food available. Many people make a day of the football, continue afterwards so the key would be to try and keep their customers for a few hours after the match. They are successful in the sponsors lounges to a degree, but need to create more rooms or areas to keep the customers spending long after the final whistle. Not sure how the bar does that is there? Never new to that one, but an extention of that sort of thing might work. I suppose the risk for us compared to the rugby is that we don't always win, so many will just want to go home, where as at the rugby they win more and so you are probably more prepared to hang around It’s a good idea, as its not only us but most football teams in general operate in a similar way I would assume it is because they fear they would losing corporate revenue if they were to do this as they charge extortionate rates for people to pay to use the boxes and bar facilities.

Add to that extra policing costs too.

Add to that extra policing costs too. But while we assume the worst, then people won't have the ability to prove otherwise, I think that in general football fans can get on with each other, simple zero tolerance policy at the bar any trouble you are banned, not only from the bar but potentially from the ground, will hopefully keep people in check and will mean that troublemakers will not be allowed to spoil it for decent fans.
He's not bald Posted 4 May 2012 Posted 4 May 2012 Would have to invest a lot of money to make it viable imo.The draughty concourses of the KP on a cold dark December/January afternoon are the last place I would want to be once the match is over.
davieG Posted 4 May 2012 Author Posted 4 May 2012 My lad and his mates often go to the pub after the game especially if there's a game on the TV to watch out of the corner of one (sober) eye. They could even create a pub like bar either in or next to the ground for home supporters only at the moment this trade is going to nearby pubs. They'd need to sell decent beer at an acceptable price.
Webbo Posted 4 May 2012 Posted 4 May 2012 The 1884 bar always used to be open after the match, I haven't been in for a couple of years.
dog_4 Posted 4 May 2012 Posted 4 May 2012 swipe card system was never installed, betting booths never replaced. I'd wonder if we'll have Match day programs in 3D like blackburn did the other week.
dog_4 Posted 4 May 2012 Posted 4 May 2012 should build a fan village on the brownfield site next door
Craig Posted 4 May 2012 Posted 4 May 2012 I've not been to Stadium MK before but once the seats are added to the upper tier it looks like it would be a far better stadium overall than ours, shame its all for a fake football club Decent enough ground. Best thing about it is the sound system, I'd love us to have one like that.
jonthefox Posted 4 May 2012 Posted 4 May 2012 Looks like chelski involved thier fans when planning a new ground. http://web.orange.co.uk/article/sports/blues_in_bid_for_battersea_site
The Padster Posted 4 May 2012 Posted 4 May 2012 a leicester city pub would be class. The Half-Time Orange. Get it done Top.
melrose Posted 4 May 2012 Posted 4 May 2012 Knock the soleless bowl down and build a copy of filbo to replace it!

Bayfox Posted 4 May 2012 Posted 4 May 2012 Knock the soleless bowl down and build a copy of filbo to replace it! this. that said a number of suggestions on here may not be a bad idea. a proper fan village for example, why not cater to all aspects of the fans you could build a resturant and bar area, run some for the club, franchise a few and rent units to the likes of mcd's etc. maybe a casino, they make loads and gala in town is a bit shit/basic and what about an arena on the goals model, that would get loads of kids down playing 5aside, would you rather play in the shadow of your clubs ground or the general hospital? wait sorry i came over all prawn sandwich then. why dont we sort out the mess on the pitch, that would improve my saturdays.
gazfox9 Posted 4 May 2012 Posted 4 May 2012 The 1884 bar always used to be open after the match, I haven't been in for a couple of years. Yes it still does, tho obviously its a lot quieter than pre-match.
Hollism Posted 4 May 2012 Posted 4 May 2012 genuinely think that this will look brilliant and hope this image isn't too far off the final product
The Padster Posted 4 May 2012 Posted 4 May 2012 I love this. I fvcking hate Chelsea mind, but this is a beautiful concept.
LcFc_Smiv Posted 4 May 2012 Posted 4 May 2012 Fack, can you imagine that in the olden days, would be a daunting away trip!
Narborough_fox Posted 4 May 2012 Posted 4 May 2012 Could make it fit for concerts, make it a multi-purpose stadia rather than just a sporting one. Could finally see big musical talent in Leicester rather than Peter Andre.
flowwolf Posted 6 May 2012 Posted 6 May 2012 Fack, can you imagine that in the olden days, would be a daunting away trip! Yes you could have got battersead.
flowwolf Posted 6 May 2012 Posted 6 May 2012 Do the chimneys light up to act as floodlights ? Awesome !
Jace Posted 6 May 2012 Posted 6 May 2012 Do the chimneys light up to act as floodlights ? Awesome ! Personally I would design it so smoke would come out the chimneys every time the ball goes over the line
flowwolf Posted 6 May 2012 Posted 6 May 2012 Personally I would design it so smoke would come out the chimneys every time the ball goes over the line But wouldn't that give the wrong impression that a new Pope had been elected ?
