It is hardly like he is going to command a huge fee, think we are looking at a 5 figure fee, this type of signing is welcome in my eyes we have nothing to loose.

This has Aman Verma written all over it again if it happens...

Aye. If we ever go into admin, this is my excuse. The transfer of Aman Verma.

Don't be so daft lol this is a pretty risk-free transfer if it happens.

Well yes because we wouldnt find out if he is going to be better than schlupp for a few years, during which time schlupp could be getting game time off the bench

Why does signing him mean he's instantly ahead of the Schupp? They are the same age.

It really is astonishing the amount of our fans who have some massive urge to criticise every single move every single manager we have makes.

They can't fvcking win.

It's surely just something to ease the FFP regulations?

Buy dirt cheap and sell him on in 3/4 years after he's had the benefit of our coaches/academy.

Are you seriously using our young player/academy player of the year awards to judge how good they are? Do you realise that those awards mean, "best young player at this club", and, "best player in this club's academy"? Someone at the club has to win those awards, even if every single young player at the club is mediocre. Those awards tell us sweet FA about how those players compare to other club's players, or how much potential they have.

I don't want to take anything away from Schlupp's hat-trick, but it was for a Championship side against a League 2 club. Also, I was pleased to see Panayiotou score on his debut, but you have to admit, there was a huge element of fortune involved. I really don't think he knew much about it when it happened. As for Hopper, he might not have been involved so much if we hadn't had so many injuries to strikers throughout the season.

I don't want to take any credit away from these players. They may turn out to be as good as you seem to think they will, but let's not get carried away.

Whether our players have potential or not shouldn't influence our recruitment policy. If the club thinks there are bargains out there who could one day be great players, then they should go out and try to get them, regardless of how many good young players we already have.

I don't know why you want the club to risk missing out. Would you prefer it if the club stopped "wasting" money on scouts altogether?

They won their league and only just got pipped today by Fulham from reaching the Academy League Cup Final - what more can they do ?

The under 21's team is definately a runner so signing the Leamington lad makes sense from that point of view I suppose

After many years of browsing the forum I can finally contribute....

I had the pleasure of playing in the same team as Blyth a few years ago. He is a very good prospect...technically very good, can finish and good in the air. Yes he is not the answer straight away but this lad has promise and could develop into a very decent player......nothing to lose......he can play! Would be great to see him suceed....tough ask but you never know.....

I'm not sure if you read my comment. I'm not slagging them off. I was pointing out to someone that handing out awards to players at the club, that are only open to the players at the club is no way of judging how well they compare to players at other clubs, or how much potential they have. It's like a general election. Every single time, Labour, the Tories or the Lib Dems come out on top. That doesn't mean any of those parties are not shit. It just means the public think one of them is less shit than the others. You could pin a rosette to your favourite log in a dog shit bin, but that wouldn't mean anyone else would think it was any good.

I know the academy side are doing well, and I hope their success continues. I don't want to take any credit from them. However, our u-18s teams have been doing very well for a long while now, and we haven't seen that translate to many players breaking through into the first team yet. It's just like any team, it doesn't always equate to the sum of its parts. We, as Leicester City fans this season should know this better than most. We've got some talented individuals, but clearly, they don't work together as a team. Look at the three sides promoted to the PL from last season. Norwich and Swansea are both comfortably safe, with no big names in either squad. QPR, on the other hand, have a team full of household names, but are still fighting to avoid the drop. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying our young players are rubbish, I'm just saying you can't say they're all brilliant because the team they're in is doing well, or because one of them is voted better than the rest of them.

What? 4 pages and no Youtube videos? But this is Foxes Talk!

Big lad, target man, confident penalty taker. Like an English Kermorgant.

Some Leicester fan on Twitter: Hi, as a fan of a championship club (his picture had a fox on it, slight give away), what can you tell us about yourself, tall, short, target man, pacey???

Blyth's reply: Hello mate. 6ft3 target man and i've scored 20 goals this season.

Good lad, worth a punt I'm sure lol

Hi all leamington fan here just wanted to give you some info on jacob as i have watched him all season.his move is definitely based on who you know in the game a favour for a favour as he really is just a big lump.his touch is awful,he looks like he is treading water when he runs and most his goals are pens and 2 yard tap ins.i dont think he was good enough for leamington never mind a championship club.but with all what i said it would be great for him to do well and make a good living from football but its never going to happen sorry!

:crylaugh:

Thanks for the information & good to hear from someone who has actually seen him play.

However, it won't stop the endless debate about how much he is worth, what his wages should be, is he better than what we already have, is he the new replacement for Howard or even the new Ian Wright??

So he's Steve Howard's replacement then?

Did not come on here to slate jacob who is a great lad but some of the posts ive read about him replacing this player and that player in your squad is outragous.you will all see for yourselves.its going to be interesting to see how this move plays out but he will be back in our league in 12 months guaranteed unless his new manager has a friend in the game like now and gets him the move.

Well we probably won't if he's as bad as you say, as our youngsters will be picked ahead of him.
