Paul Coutts - PNE

A Preston fans site ('pne-online') is reporting that we're interested in Paul Coutts - and have made a bid. He's a Scottish Under-21 central midfielder they signed from Posh. He would go for a fee, as he's still in contract with Preston. I'm not sure if he's mainly an attacking or defensive player - but is regarded as a decent passer of the ball (according to the PFA Yearbook 2009-10 !). Peterborough signed him from a Scottish Junior side (Cove Rangers), after he was released as a Youth player with Aberdeen.

I'm not averse to signing guys from the lower leagues but the possibility of signing this guy doesn't get me excited at all. Has he been a standout performer for PNE? I've no idea.

You can't have a team of just passers - Savage wasn't the best passer. Danns does an effective job and when played in his preferred role is as good as any in this league.
