Me and a friend were debating whether the Premier League or the Champions League was the greater acheivment for a club. Him being a man city fan also said that man city winning the premier league is a greater acheivment than Chelsea who came 6th but won the FA cup and the Champions league but I couldn't decide. What do all of you think?

The team who wins the league is the best team in the country. It is hard to argue over thirty eight games.

The team who wins the CL isn't always the best team in Europe as proved tonight. Although they deserved it, doesn't make them the best in the Europe. But that's knockout football for you.

So for me the biggest achievement is winning the league, unless a team wins the league and CL then winning the CL would probably be a greater achievement as there would he no doubt about who is the best team.

Chelsea without doubt. After Chelsea's start to the season, and morale seemingly at the lowest possible point, to win the FA Cup and then the CL for the first time is a huge achievement.

Man City on the other hand, have spent £100's of millions and won the title, which they've won in the past anyway.

Chelsea. Mediocre in the league but they've won more trophies than any other English club this season, and that's what counts.

Chelsea have achieved more.

They've won the Champions League. They are, according to the record books, the best team in Europe. That's better than being the best team in England. They also beat Barcelona which was apparently impossible.

City have done well but it's not that astonishing an achievement, they've spent billions (Chelsea haven't exactly spent lightly).

Premier league is the greater achievement - as shown tonight you can be lucky as **** and win the CL, not possible in the league.

Chelsea have achieved more though.

Winning the Champions League is the pinnacle of league football, Chelsea have done better...

That's a tricky one but for me the Champions League is the ultimate prize in European Football.

When you take into account the manner in which Chelsea have achieved their goals I think you have to say that they have done a little more than City this term.

Having said that it was definitely another significant step forward for City this year and they will be a force on all fronts next season.

Chelsea have achieved more. Beating Barcelona and Bayern Munich, two massive clubs, in their own backyard says it all really. I think the European Cup is the bigger prize, yet some managers would rather win the Premier League. Tricky one, but European Cup for me.

Think I would prefer to see Leicester win the Champions League than the Premier League, Richie Wellens lifting the European Cup would be epic!!

I think it depends on what kind of club you are. If you're a big, established club within your own league, then it is naturally going to be easier to win the league as you are one of the best there, but if you're a smaller club then it is going to be easier to win the Champions League because you can ride your luck through the knock-out stages, unlike the league where you have to be consitently good to come out on top.

Sorry if that makes no sense whatsoever.

It is probably easier to win the champions league, as it is a cup competition, the luck of the draw, a slip by the opposition and you are through, but likewise one slip and you are out.

More teams have won the champions league in the last 20 years than have won the prem, which is a telling stat, and if you are in it every season for a decade, you will get a chance, it is all about whether you take it.

Having said that, first you have to qualify for the champions league, and that is an acheivement in itself, which requires you to be consistent over 38 matches in the first place.

You could argue the world club cup is even more prestigious, first you need to qualify for the CL, then you need to win it, then you need to beat the best of the rest of the world, whilst juggling league and european competitions.

I would say chelsea fans are happier than Man city fans at the moment, this CL win has been a decade in the making, Man City's league win has been 4 years in the making.

A few rounds of knock out football that you can literally (although I appreciate Chelsea didn't) win by drawing every game is a bigger achievement than winning a 38 game league season?

Behave.

I love the Champion's League and there are some fantastic teams you need to get through to win. But City had to play far more games, WIN far more games and do so competing with some other very strong sides.

They were top of the table, Chelsea weren't even top four. Nuff said.
