1964FOX Posted 23 May 2012 Posted 23 May 2012 Quality friendly fixture. http://www.burtonalbionfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10950~2786126,00.html
DJMadness29 Posted 23 May 2012 Posted 23 May 2012 Have to admit. Really happy about this. Been waiting for ages for a reason to go to Burton. Used to sit front row in the family stand at Filbo all them years ago. Went to the last game and Kevin Poole was doing the warm up our end. As he turned to go in we shouted and asked if we could have a ball. He smiled and chucked it to us. we quickly deflated it and it now sits pride of place in me games room. Have been waiting to go and see if he'd sign it. fingers crossed
LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 23 May 2012 Posted 23 May 2012 Going to this game hopefully, never been Burton's ground yet
purpleronnie Posted 23 May 2012 Posted 23 May 2012 Going to this game hopefully, never been Burton's ground yet Its decent I guess, 3 sides of terraces helps, but the fans were so quiet when I went, and I prey you dont have to listen to their goal music which is played very very loud and kills any noise after a goal. Still decent pubs in the area....I expect a leicester invasion.
Ashley Posted 23 May 2012 Posted 23 May 2012 Train or bus to this. There is a bus route from the bus station to Burton!
I am Rod Hull Posted 23 May 2012 Posted 23 May 2012 Played in quite a few cup games at their old Eton Park ground back in the day, but i`v not been to the Pirelli Stadium yet. *Burtonians "Run from the Swad" "you always run from the Swad" "Run from the Swwwaaaad" "You always run from the Swad"
MrFox781 Posted 23 May 2012 Posted 23 May 2012 Glad about this, we don't need Real Madrids or premier league sides. we need the lower league teams. Why? cuz we struggle against lower league teams and friendlies like this may help us figure out why and learn from it.
mr k Posted 23 May 2012 Posted 23 May 2012 I can hear the Burton crowd from my house which is 3 miles away. Are pre season friendlies crowds segregated?

HEGGSY Posted 23 May 2012 Posted 23 May 2012 Very happy with this as my cousin ( Billy Kee ) plays for burton therefore should be a good day out!! My mate from college is Billys cousin also, do you know Sam?
Bluearmyfox28 Posted 23 May 2012 Posted 23 May 2012 ^^ not sure I'm the Irish side of the family? Is he from Ireland don't really speak with them much tbh, just the odd meet up every now and then!
Dan Posted 23 May 2012 Posted 23 May 2012 Its decent I guess, 3 sides of terraces helps, but the fans were so quiet when I went, and I prey you dont have to listen to their goal music which is played very very loud and kills any noise after a goal. Still decent pubs in the area....I expect a leicester invasion. Aye I went to Burton v Plymouth this year and it's not bad, agree with all you've said, it's absolutely silent but it'll be a takeover from our fans, will be quality. I can hear the Burton crowd from my house which is 3 miles away. Are pre season friendlies crowds segregated? I could barely hear them from 3 metres away.
ozleicester Posted 24 May 2012 Posted 24 May 2012 I can hear the Burton crowd from my house which is 3 miles away. Are pre season friendlies crowds segregated? They segregated us at Kettering last year - hadnt seen my uncle in 40 years, arranged to meet at the game and we had to chat to each other through the fence until the end of the game
RumbleFox Posted 24 May 2012 Posted 24 May 2012 Born and bred in Burton but live fvcking miles away now!!! Great friendly though. X
MrSpaM Posted 24 May 2012 Posted 24 May 2012 Guess this means our squad are going to have to start cancelling their genuine thai massages then. Glad we arnt sending the whole squad over there again this season.
bluesbrothers Posted 24 May 2012 Posted 24 May 2012 Bloody hell! Burton have a pretty impressive pre-season line up for a league 2 club! Us, Leeds and the Sheep, plus Aston VIlla. They've even got a European tie against Warsaw.
MrFox781 Posted 24 May 2012 Posted 24 May 2012 Do we? I did mean the ones in our own league. for example: milwall (twice), doncaster away, portsmouth, barnsley, bristol, forest, peterboro...
