Norwich reject his resignation. No doubt he'll still be going at some point, he has burnt his bridges now but Norwich could do a QPR (Ian Holloway) and put him on Gardening Leave which means he isn't in charge of Norwich and will still be paid by Norwich but wouldn't be allowed to work for another club - Pretty pointless really as Lambert is the winner as he's be paid for doing nothing but if Norwich want to be stubborn they might do it.

I've always said although in the past i've been angry at players/managers leaving Leicester at the end of the day if someone doesn't want to be at club what's the point in having them there really?

To be fair he's done a lot for Norwich, it would be extremely unfair if they did this to him!

Being an LCFC & Norwich fan it looks like the only man who is wanted is Malky Mackay has a great relationship with the club and has great motivation believe he would be good to takee us forward

Alan Curbisley is linked to every job going. eventually he'll get one.

Its been rumoured that Alan Curbishley doesn't like the colour yellow, so he'll be turning this one down too.

Would explain why he never managed Brazil.

Norwich are searching for a new manager and have placed Lambert on Gardening Leave like I thought would happen, no doubt Lambert will still end up going Villa but if Norwich fuck Villa about for long they might just get someone else, they are in discussions about compensation so it probably will go through, they might aswell as any compensation is better than nothing - whereas on Gardening Leave they are doing nothing but wasting money.

Norwich chief executive David McNally has revealed the club are in the process of looking for a new manager as Paul Lambert looks set to move to Aston Villa.

The 42-year-old Lambert had his resignation request rejected by the Norwich board as his representatives were locked in talks with Villa and he has now been placed on gardening leave from Carrow Road.

McNally was responding to days of speculation over Lambert's situation and confirmed both clubs are now in talks over compensation. "We are looking for a new manager, that is likely what we concentrate on in the next few weeks," McNally told Sky Sports News.

"We were in a situation where we were approached by another club to speak to Paul Lambert, we didn't grant them permission and we were very clear we wanted to keep our manager who has been incredibly successful.

"When it was indicated by our manager that he would like the opportunity to speak to this particular club the dynamics changed, and then it was about talking to them about compensation, agreeing compensation and sorting out a time frame, and we are still in that process."

McNally praised Lambert's contribution during his time at Carrow Road but is hoping the situation can be resolved as quickly as possible.

He said: "Paul Lambert has been fantastic for this football club for three years and he will quite rightly take his place in Norwich City history and we will always be very grateful to Paul for his achievements here.

"Paul did tender his resignation but we haven't accepted it - that is our right and we will attempt to get to a conclusion on this. The lawyers will be involved and we will see if we can get through this as quickly as possible - and we (can) focus on our search for a new manager."

Cardiff boss Malkay Mackay and Celtic chief Neil Lennon have been made early favourites to replace Lambert at Norwich but McNally revealed the club have made no approach for a manager at present and will appoint someone who meets their criteria.

"It is interesting, I've seen it reported today that we have contact both those clubs about their particular managers but we haven't, I'd like to put that on record," he said.

I read in the telegraph that according Lambert's contract he can speak to any other premier league club. So according to the telegraph it's Norwich breaching their contract!

I'm not sure but doubt that'd be allowed, isn't there rules and stuff against that?

Also, it seems like Lambert has spoke to Villa, agreed a deal and wants to go, but compensation would still have to be agreed between the two clubs which seems to be what is stalled the deal, Norwich have put Lambert on Gardening Leave so that they can look towards getting their new manager and it binds time to agree compensation and/or piss Villa off so they get someone else and fucks Lambert up as he'll have no job at Norwich and no job to go to at Villa if they decided to go for someone else.

I doubted Leicesterpool when they said Lambert would go Villa, so I apologies. By in my opinion Lambert is an idiot for going Villa. The most thankless task in the premier league, worse than even the Liverpool job.

This! Such a thankless task. Am I the only one that sees this as pretty much a sideways step?

Oh, and Lee Clark for Norwich

Hmmmm was going to bet on Villa getting relegated next season, I think Lambert will steady the ship at Villa, he won't get any success with them, he won't do anything amazing with them but he'll steady the ship and keep them up. Unless there is real value on Villa going down, doubt i'll bother betting on it now.
