Happy Fox Posted 9 June 2012 Share Posted 9 June 2012 John Percy @John__Percy Derby have turned down an improved £1.2m bid from #BurnleyFC for Jason Shackell. Interest from #lcfc too. #dcfc
Happy Fox Posted 9 June 2012 Author Share Posted 9 June 2012 John Percy @John__Percy @petermblackburn would think Shackell the alternative if they can't do Chester
Danny the Fox 95 Posted 9 June 2012 Share Posted 9 June 2012 Fourth official said that Chambers was the alternative to Chester, whilst Percy says its Shackell. Both reliable sources, interesting. Would rather we sign Chambers if we can't get Chester.
Happy Fox Posted 9 June 2012 Author Share Posted 9 June 2012 I would imagine we are in the market for 2 CBs, one them will be with money with a transfer fee i.e Chester or Shackell and one free agent : Chambers, Wilson, Fitz Hall
James_lcfc Posted 9 June 2012 Share Posted 9 June 2012 Big Nige loves his CB's. Or hates the one's we've got. Either way.
Danny the Fox 95 Posted 9 June 2012 Share Posted 9 June 2012 Reckon St Ledger, and Mills will leave. And hopefully we'll sign Chambers, and Chester and then a youth player like Taft as back up.
EnderbyFox Posted 9 June 2012 Share Posted 9 June 2012 St Ledger is a lot better than Shackell, hopefully this isn't the end of him.

sphericalfox Posted 9 June 2012 Share Posted 9 June 2012 Sounds like we're getting chained to any old CB at the minute. I do hope we have a team of CBs that would be classed as defensive thinking. The more LCFC mirrors the Irish National Team the better for me!

Father Ted Posted 9 June 2012 Share Posted 9 June 2012 I don't see it happening, especially with the way Derby were making such a big thing over the 'big loss' of Barker through injury...

kingfox Posted 9 June 2012 Share Posted 9 June 2012 I like Shackell, but would prefer Chester 100% Don't wan't Hall or Chambers, don't need all these centre backs. Morgan and St Ledger are perfectly good enough.

Bluetintedspecs Posted 9 June 2012 Share Posted 9 June 2012 I do hope that all these players that we are linked with, and our fans "don't rate" don't read this forum and have sensitive dispositions

Bryn Posted 9 June 2012 Share Posted 9 June 2012 Would take Shackell, solid centreback, certainly better than St Ledger ffs, lets get real.
kingfox Posted 9 June 2012 Share Posted 9 June 2012 Well, we have two, and all that's happened is we're linked to a couple. Hardly anything too wrong is there? These centre backs we have been linked with though, are all capable of starting. Morgan and St Ledger could be crucial next season, really rate them two. But if two of Chester, Shackell, Hall or Chambers come in there will be massive competition, yes it's good to have competition but these players will all want to start and are good enough to start. So two of them will be massively frustrated because they will be benched, which could affect team morale.
