Simo86 Posted 7 November 2012 Posted 7 November 2012 Not necessarily. Think this version is being a bit more dynamic with player values. I've signed a couple of people at Palermo from obscure teams and their value has immediately jumped almost by virtue of our buying him. Yes definitely, or immediately down if you have overpaid for someone
Frost Posted 7 November 2012 Posted 7 November 2012 Struggled with my first game save as Newcastle, so started a new one with Heidenheim in the German Third Division. Had a career on 12 where I won the Bundesliga and got to the CL Semi's so thought I'd give it another go. Media prediction was 10th but I won the league. Somehow managed to win the Second Division as well, so back to back promotions. However, only got given £1m (that's right) to spend in the Bundesliga. Its gunna be a long season in the top flight.
Finnegan Posted 7 November 2012 Posted 7 November 2012 Yes definitely, or immediately down if you have overpaid for someone That as well. Which is good if it stops the most valuable players in the game being shit, midtable players bought up for silly money by Russian clubs.
Brainy Posted 7 November 2012 Posted 7 November 2012 Might get some sort of challenge for myself going where I try and win as many top leagues as possible on the game. I started as Anderlecht the other night, finished 2nd in the main season and then won the league in the retarded "Championship Play-off" league format they have. Club Brugge won the league outright and then finished 4th in the play off 10 game shoot out. I think they then went on to a play off final for the last European place and lost that ) I got bored of that quite easily so after just one season, I started a new game in the Czech Republic in Sparta Prague. Started that off quite well and the league looks like it's going to be a piece of piss. Hopefully gonna be able to make more of my chance in Europe than I did with Anderlecht too. Might seem quite easy and obvious just picking the dominant team in the division but it's quite a fun challenge personally having to get to know players from countries i'm barely aware of Won the league comfortably with Sparta, somehow managed to get Tomas Rosicky on loan for the second half of the season. Had Tomas Hubschman on loan for the season aswell and managed to turn that into a permanent. Got Kozak from Lazio on loan for two seasons right from the start. Kadlec is god. This season i've got Anthony Annan on loan, Danny Nounkeu on loan, Rosicky on a season long loan aswell as Tomas Necid on loan. Loan market is easy to abuse on here Done with season two now, finished 2nd in the league I called a piece of piss . Mlada Boleslav (never heard of them!??!) are very good, had dropped only two points from a possible 48 before the winter break. Trailed them by about 15pts at one stage but they choked towards the end and won by 3pts. Beat them in the FA Cup final so I came away with some silverware, as well as the Super Cup at the start of the season. Europe was my main highlight though, pretty cruely knocked out of the Champions League group stages on away goals in head to head record vs Stuttgart. Europa League after Christmas was no different, beat Besiktas in the first knockout round and then was 5mins away from going through vs Sevilla on away goals before they nicked it right at the end. My performance in Europe means that UEFA have given the Czech league an extra Champions League place for the start of the 15/16 season. Will miss the money from it all. Went from having 2m transfer budget and 125k wage budget in the first season, to having a 20m transfer budget at 225k wage budget by season three, without selling anybody for major money Feels nice to be making profits with a team instead of making them go bust as usual Signed Rosicky on a free transfer after two loan spells, a young DL/C from Montengero and a random French winger on a free. Vaclik Mosjov Svedjik Bilic Pamic Jarosik (still, at 36 yrs of age) Holek Rosicky or Kaderabak Rosicky or Husbauer Krejci Kadlec
darko2k7 Posted 7 November 2012 Posted 7 November 2012 This plus you paid £6m for him. No i paid 9 m for him , it was a big fee but had been scouting him 6 months and it as worked out well beacuse he is banging them in now in the prem . I really struggled my first two years the the prem just surviving, but now this lad as 10 goals in 7 games and im 3 or 4th in the league having beaten liverpool, spurs and newcastle. Don't see how a regen can be a spoiler, Well i thought he was too but his history said he played in the 12/13 season so i put it in a spoiler just incase, plus it saves space on the thread Got Kaka , sterling, kakuta for free this season too which helps . Sterling is a beast Man u are really too strong on my game tho , they have won the league easily every year and already this season they are two points clear with two games in hand .
GLC Posted 7 November 2012 Author Posted 7 November 2012 You can ask the board for more money in Jan, as long as you're doing alright. I got 8Mil off Top
lcfcsnow Posted 7 November 2012 Posted 7 November 2012 Any advice on tactics? Not bought it for a few years as I hated and still do hate the new design. Played 10 games with Leicester I'm 23rd, jobs very insecure so not going to last much longer. I used to play a 4-3-2-1 on FM 11 and had great success, in midfield I used to have a defensive midfielder in front of the defence and then in front of him a ball winner and a box to box.. I have tried setting up the same way on this but it's a total disaster. I reverted to a 4-4-2 and even that fails. Very disappointing overall despite that, the games a mess all the pages are way too busy they seem to have over complicated everything.

lcfcsnow Posted 7 November 2012 Posted 7 November 2012 Well since I posted that I've gone from 23rd to 8th thanks to a 7 game unbeaten run, winning 6! I haven't even changed anything.
kingfox Posted 7 November 2012 Posted 7 November 2012 That's not really a problem with the game, it's you. Just pick a team and stick to it. The guy has got a point Mark, I do the same especially on Fifa can never settle with a team and change it. Same on Football Manager last year, was about 4 different teams.
Mark_w Posted 7 November 2012 Posted 7 November 2012 The guy has got a point Mark, I do the same especially on Fifa can never settle with a team and change it. Same on Football Manager last year, was about 4 different teams. But that isn't a problem with the game really, myself and plenty of other people don't have that problem. They've added FMC for those who either find it difficult to get into a game or don't have as much time on there hands anyway so I don't see the problem. I will say that if you honsetly find it difficult to get into a game on Football Manager you should just persevere with a single save, I used to set up multiple games and barely start them as well, but honestly once you get a few years in and you start picking out regens the game in my opinion becomes a lot more enjoyable. It isn't an issue with the game though, just that some people have a short attention span.
Ozwin Posted 8 November 2012 Posted 8 November 2012 Genuinely I am doing awful this year, I just can't get a tactic to work at all and I hate myself for not figuring it out by now. The tactic I used last year isn't working whatsoever. Rage.

I think I only completed one whole season on Fifa 12 and that was with Udinese, while I also only completed one season on football manager with Reading. Played with other teams before hand, but they didn't excite me and make me wanna complete a full season.
Mark_w Posted 8 November 2012 Posted 8 November 2012 It is called getting bored of playing as the same team. Yes and it's a result of your short attention span, not the game.
GLC Posted 8 November 2012 Author Posted 8 November 2012 Ended up winning the championship with Forest (4 points behind) and Palace going up via the play offs. Nugent scored 31 goals in total Knocaert had 9 with 23 assists Ended up winning the championship with Forest (4 points behind) and Palace going up via the play offs. GLC Posted 8 November 2012 Author Posted 8 November 2012 Nearly read that wrong Haha, I was Leicester
darko2k7 Posted 8 November 2012 Posted 8 November 2012 This my current position in the race for my first taste of Europe. I think I've lost the chance of 6th but if I can hold on to 7th i think i will qualify if Liverpool beat Man u in the FA cup final Oh and Shane Long is the reason West Brom are so high ( 25 goals )
General Smuts Posted 8 November 2012 Posted 8 November 2012 Genuinely I am doing awful this year, I just can't get a tactic to work at all and I hate myself for not figuring it out by now. The tactic I used last year isn't working whatsoever. Rage. I'm struggling slightly this year as well. Haven't had the time to get into it like I did so quickly with FM12 but it is a much harder game from the couple of hours I've played it.
Ozwin Posted 8 November 2012 Posted 8 November 2012 Definitely. I can't work out team talks either which I think normally are pretty important. Everything I say seems to have a negative impact. I wonder if they've made being Sunday League reputation harder? Like more difficult for your players to listen to you or take on board your ideas etc?

I wonder if they've made being Sunday League reputation harder? Like more difficult for your players to listen to you or take on board your ideas etc? Unless your managing in the lower leagues or even non-league then Sunday league rep is going to make the game harder for you initially. That's the whole point of it, it's a sort of difficulty level but only at the beginning and once you've won a few things your rep increases and the difficulty levels out. Automatic is probably the best rep to start with for most users, while people who struggle should be picking International footballer and experienced players who find the game too easy should be using Sunday league rep.
GLC Posted 8 November 2012 Author Posted 8 November 2012 I had a budget of 16mil in my first season in the PL, I've bought Essien - 3mil (Chelsea - Transfer Listed) Dempsey - Loan Anderson - 2.5mil (Man Utd - Transfer Listed) Marc Munisea - Free (Barca - Released) Carlo Cudicini - Free Danny Batth - 6mil (Wolves) Carlos Fierro - 10 Mil Florent Malouda - Free Sold Beckford - 3Mil - Wigan Danns - 600k - Leeds Dyer - 300k - Hull Waghorn - 1Mil - Forest Morgan - 1Mil - Watford Whitbread - 1.2Mil - Hull Konchesky - 300k - Birmingham Oussama Darragi - 8.5Mil - Barca

Oh yeah I know, but normally it's not such a big issue. I think this year it's definitely something they've looked at. I pick Sunday League rep every time and have done for years.
darko2k7 Posted 9 November 2012 Posted 9 November 2012 Well I finished 7th last year and thought that I was in Europe because Liverpool (5th) won the Fa cup but I didn't realize Newcastle ( 8th ) were in the euro cup final and they only went and won it and took my place Heartbroken !
