Far Post Gerry Posted 25 November 2012 Posted 25 November 2012 Just started a save with City and one of my signings is Adryan, thanks to Finnegan for the tip as he can't be scouted, got a work permit after appeal. The board are slightly disappointed with the lack of big name signings though as that was part of my contract. Let Beckford go to Petreborough on a free but I've got to pay £19k a week, don't care though as I just don't want him gone and no-one would take him on loan for some reason. I got that too. Ridiculous - they're pleased with all my three signings (Wooton, Sunny and Vilsvik), all of whom were bargains and have been superb, but pissed off cos I didn't pay over the odds for a 'big name'. It's like we've still got Mandaric in charge!

Might just buy it this weekend and hide it from her and then return her copy in the new year... Having said that, I've still got a very, very good game on the go in FM 2012 with the very best regen I've ever found. Tom Rose, 21 years old, and absolutely world class. He came through my academy at Chelsea and he's worth about £39 million already and he's scored about 100 goals over three/four seasons.

definitely not finners Posted 27 November 2012 Posted 27 November 2012 even better if he really came here! Sometimes think it's a tad too easy to sign people when you're in the Prem, though. The difference in prestige and quality between Serie A and the EPL isn't so great that Abel Hernandez should he turning down Roma and Napoli to come here. I mean, I'm in the Europa League but I'm something like 16th in terms of "reputation" in England and when I swooped for him (he had a transfer request accepted making him partially easier to sign) Juve were preparing a bid. Heh. Not strictly complaining because he's been my favourite player on the last three versions but it does take the challenge out a bit.

I bought Adam Maher for the AMC slot and have Adryan as my backup for that spot so it could be worse. On my 4th season. Retained the capital one cup, in the FA Cup 5th round, top of the league by 1 point though I've lost my last 2 games including the 1 against Man City, hence why they're one point behind me. I lost to PSG in the Champions League though because of the away goals rule. Got a decent squad and have signed some fantastic players (including Adryan, Seydou Doumbia and Mattia Destro) on pre contracts which helps massively when trying not to spend all your money. -- The league went to the last day of the season, I beat Man Utd at home 3-0. Second placed Liverpool were away to bottom placed Derby and they had a man sent off in the first half but still won 1-0 . I did win the FA and League Cups though, and finished 2nd in the Premiership so it's not all bad.

Schlupp and Nuge have been literally unbelievable up front: they have 8 and 6 goals in 4+3 and 3+4 apps respectively. Stat-defying performances... Well... this is astonishing enough to quote my own post. Schlupp is out of this world. Played Arsenal away in the C1 Cup and subbed in Schlupp for Becks as the lone attacker in the 77th minute at 0-0. Arshavin scores in the 83rd only for Schlupp to equalise a minute later. Extra-time starts. Match finished 1-4 with Schlupp bagging all four goals . That Arsenal side was not a shabby one either: Mannone, Jenkinson, Djourou, Vermaelen, Santos, Ox, Ramsey, Glen Kamara, Arshavin, Podolski and Chamakh, with Jose Enrique, Gibbs and Leo Kweuke (what a beast!!) subbed in. That puts Schlupp on 11 (ELEVEN!!) goals in 3 starts and 6 sub appearances. That's ridiculous...

Get some scouts with 18/18+ and send them to France, Germany, Argentina, Brazil, Spain, Italy, England, Croatia, Belgium and the Czech Republic. Ukraine and Scandinavia aren't bad either. Make sure they're looking for anyone under 17 or 18 in the first few seasons. Sign anything that's four and a half or five stars potential - four if their determination is already high and you're a bit short in that position. Avoid anyone inconsistent, injury prone or afraid of big games as there are plenty of regens without those weaknesses. Be aware of players like Jelle Vossen with unbelievablemental stats, high professionallism and - most importantly - high determination as tutoring combined with first team experience is key.

Played a Champion cup game and won 5-0 , when the game ended it took an age to go to team talk page , i gave the team talk but the proceed button is missing so can not continue

I've come off it now because I've looked ages for team talk (prior to a game) but cannot find it at all.

Had to force quit the game as nothing that I did would get the game to continue. Ended up losing the game when I loaded it .
