Football Manager 2013

File is corrupted, probably need to start again.

I'm so close to tears it's unreal. Signed up and posted in the Community Sigames and hopefully they can't sort it.

This is the furthest I've gotten since CM2, my most successful game by far and the only thing in my life I care about.

The file will have become corrupted and no longer readable. Unfortunately, it's just one of those things.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

I may actual cry! My laptop just crashed while I was saving my Stevenage game and now I get 'Save Game Could Not Be Loaded'.

Ricey - is there any way this can be restored? I'm OCD and delete the V2 and V3 versions when they are auto saved so don't have them.

Ouch. Always keep a rolling save as a back up, this happens quite often to me, it's worth having a 3-month rolling save because at least you'll only have to go back a month or two at the most.

Put it down to experience and keep a back up from now on!

Finally getting into FM. Back to my Leicester save, got through the 1st 2 season. getting promotoed and finishing 16th in Prem following season. I have then been given 24m to stay up but i am feeling confident i can do better, settled for mid table 30m.

Doria is a beast at CB signed for 500k and is worth 9.5m

De Laet is worth 7.5m

i will post my team up later but mainly signed young players for the future and Gaston form southampton for 14m. Along with Taarbart (4m) and Tony K its fairly creative.

I'm just installing the game now - what does everyone recommend w/r to which game mode to play?

Also: What previous experience does everyone go for? In previous editions I've made myself a former international but I'm thinking it makes the game too easy.

I had to restore to a previous version which was back in September when I was in February.

I've actually managed to better my previous attempt so I'm not too disheartened although I am ****ing knackered as I refused to go to bed until I caught back up.

Was 6th and into the League Cup final - now 2nd in the Prem 2 points behind Manure with 3 games in hand. Still got to the final of the League Cup and haven't been knocked out of the EURO Cup either. Delish.

Gonna smash this tonight to make myself feel better.

I thank you all for your concern during this difficult period in my life.

Good stuff, at least you didn't completely lose the whole thing. Now make sure you have the rolling save feature on!

I've just finished my first season with Blackburn Rovers and won the Championship, Leicester finished rock bottom of the league - couldn't believe it. Naturally, when the Leicester job came up, I couldn't resist. I was getting a bit sick of Rovers anyway, so I'm taking Leicester out of League One for the second time in their history. I managed to keep hold of nearly all of my key players (Morgan, Knocks, King, Drinky, Marshall, Beckford, Whitbread, Schmeichel) mostly because other teams couldn't/wouldn't pay their wages and I got rid of a load of dross, including that brought in by Pearson and his successor Karl Robinson (?!).

Signed Pilkington, Commons, Tunnicliffe, Hanley and a shit hot regen that came through my ranks first season at Blackburn. Just won my first game against MK Dons 3-1... let's ave it!

Rescuing Leicester from League One again is going well - played 11, won 10 and drawn 1, including beating also-relegated Leeds 5-0! It really is too easy with all the quality running through the team. My crazy awesome regen from former club Blackburn has scored about 8 goals in 11 games so far and he's only 16 - really want to tie him down permanently but I don't think there's much chance of that unfortunately. He's worth about 500k and I bid as high as £3 million for him (Vichai helpfully chucked a load of money into the club to help with running costs and increased my transfer budget!) but Blackburn are having none of it! After all I did for them as well...

Got a few awesome regens coming in January from Brazil, Argentina and, randomly, a guy who's Swiss, German and Argentinian. Going to try and ship out a few of the high-earning oldies on the books - I'm looking at St Ledger, Konchesky, Beckford, Gallagher, Whitbread, Wellens and definitely Heskey (signed him on a freebie for sentimental reasons and I'm seriously regretting it - he's shite), might keep Morgan though. Tried to clear a fair few of them out in the summer but it's proving tough.

Learn from it and periodically do a save as and keep a separate file name as a backup

OK Mum.

-x-

Breaking my save was clearly a blessing in disguise because last night I managed the quintuple!

Won the Premiership on the last day of the season, EURO Cup, FA Cup, League Cup and the European Super Cup.

Have that Mourinho!

With Stevenage?

That is a fair achievement. Well done.

And So realistic.

Yeah because we want to play a manager game where we're all stuck in the lower leagues, without a hope in hell of getting promotion

I forgot, the only reason anyone plays computer games is for the gritty realism.

No you all want to believe that you are super managers and talent spotters.

How can you be happy with a "simulation" game where the impossible happens so easily.

There has never been a team that has won all 5 trophies in the same season and yet you can do that very quickly with a team that can't get into the Prem.

Sure you want to be able to win the prem with a team like Stevenage, eventually, if you are a great player of the game. To me it just shows how little a challenge the game is, so I won't bother buying and playing it.

Without wanting to sound too rude I don't think anyone here values your opinion. It's like me going on the call of duty thread and saying I won't buy it as it isn't completely realistic. I don't think they would care. Football Manager is either for you, or it isn't, and it obviously isn't for you. Granted it isn't completely realistic but that makes it more entertaining, and it's also the best there is.

You don't value my opinion, now I'm crushed. ;)

Your mum should of swallowed you when you were a sperm.

:o and this is because you've shown how unrealistic a simulation the game is and I offered my opinion.

I know the average mental age of this forum may be a little low but come on guys, I said nothing about you just gave my opinion on a game that you provided the stats for.

BTW it's should have not should of. ;)

I got by as always through negotiating the transfer market like a boss. I downloaded a 'wonderkids' short list from FM Scout (I think) and filtered it for the first two seasons into who were realistic signings. Kept picking them up for nowt and selling them on at a nice profit if they weren't getting games.

Buying in players on frees with added value (either to the team or for resale) such as Courtois (now worth £35m), Vertonghen (now worth £22m), Lenny Nangis (now worth £47.5m), Tagliafico (sold for £30m) Nasri (sold for £5m).

Tagliafico was replaced by Alan Ward for £9m who was just as good (I also had a regen at left back to fill in). The remaining profit from the sale bought in Adam Maher (£13m) and most of the first choice Brazilian right winger a regen called Renan (£10m 4* CA/5* PA).

I'll post the highlights of my transfer dealings when I get in later.
