Leicester Lass Posted 28 June 2012 Posted 28 June 2012 Car full of dents. Dad's greenhouse smashed to pieces. Had water coming through the roof at work and two people had to go home because their conservatory rooves were destroyed. Worst I have ever seen.
Parafox Posted 28 June 2012 Posted 28 June 2012 Friends uPVC door has been holed in 3 places around the window frame and threshold plate. 2 ambulances have had windscreen damage (whilst driving) and there are little dents in the response car roof!!!
Guest MattP Posted 28 June 2012 Posted 28 June 2012 That picture is the best I've ever seen Fosse Road looking
Leicester_Numan Posted 28 June 2012 Posted 28 June 2012 Apparently the storm split in 2. 1 went across the midlands while the other went up towards Newcastle. Someone got swept away by flood water in Shropshire and died
Bluefoxtim Posted 28 June 2012 Posted 28 June 2012 Luckily my car is unscathed. Wigston had a huge downpour for a few minutes but no hail.
I am Rod Hull Posted 28 June 2012 Posted 28 June 2012 No hailstones where I live but it did lash it down. The sky had a strange green hue about it, never seen that before.
purpleronnie Posted 28 June 2012 Posted 28 June 2012 There was a puddle of water near my house, I contacted central news.
Webbo Posted 28 June 2012 Posted 28 June 2012 There was a puddle of water near my house, I contacted central news. I appreciate this isn't as important as American weather but I think people getting dents in their cars is worth commenting on.
FoxyPV Posted 28 June 2012 Posted 28 June 2012 I appreciate this isn't as important as any American news. Fixed.
Jackirius Posted 28 June 2012 Posted 28 June 2012 Been absolutely sweating my balls off today hardly a cloud in sight today, long may it continue may help me climatise (sp?) a little for when i go to India
Leicester_Numan Posted 28 June 2012 Posted 28 June 2012 The main railways between England & Scotland have been blocked by landslides.

LCFC FOX Posted 28 June 2012 Posted 28 June 2012 Really bad rain where I live. One of the schools roof collapsed and its flooded. They got sent home at lunch. ITS WELLENS FAULT

Especially if your Dad runs a used car business with all the cars out in the open. 17 cars with dents and not covered by insurance. Ouch.
syston_fox Posted 28 June 2012 Posted 28 June 2012 My other half's Aunty got hit on the head by a massive hail stone. She's got a bump similar to the one Bamba got against Derby on her head now.
acooling08 Posted 28 June 2012 Posted 28 June 2012 I was going up the M1 at about 11:30 near Nottingham when it started. I have never seen anything like it, the sky went so dark, it was like night time. All cars had their lights on, all streetlights on as well. Then the rain came and lets just say everybody was doing 30mph because the wipers couldn't clear the windscreen fast enough. Some massive puddles later on, following a lorry back down the M1 to come home at about 3pm and it was making 10ft high splashes! Unbelievable stuff.

Leicester_Numan Posted 28 June 2012 Posted 28 June 2012 Some good pictures on the This Is Leicestershire site
acooling08 Posted 28 June 2012 Posted 28 June 2012 The massive puddles didn't shock or amaze me, but the splashes flying over from the other side of the motorway onto the other was quite a spectacle. Btw I have been to Florida and seen a big big thunderstorm, and the weather today here was just as severe.
Tielemans63 Posted 28 June 2012 Posted 28 June 2012 Weather's been cracking in K Town. It never rains in K Town though, it's like heaven on Earth and almost as nice as Corby.
Rincewind Posted 28 June 2012 Posted 28 June 2012 The main railways between England & Scotland have been blocked by landslides. It's not all bad news then.
Leicester_Numan Posted 28 June 2012 Posted 28 June 2012 It's not all bad news then. I bet they say it's the wrong kind of mud
