Season Tickets

Mine's arrived.

The colour is awful, the font is too white and there is no folder to keep it in. The instructions on the sheet of A4 provided are too small.

But apart from that it's fine :D

lol

Less cheating as well as the card reader displays a different colour set depending on whether it's a concession or not.

Has anyone else noticed the lack of a barcode or an equivalent? What sort of technology are they using?

I think a bar code provides static info. I assume these will us a chip in the form of a magnetic data strip built into the card like ski lift passes ( I work in the ski industry). These chips can store substantial data That is uploaded to servers such as if you have paid for your ticket or have defaulted , age and gender, address, etc. it can also store info on the servers as to times you arrive and matches attended etc. I think ski data are the market leaders on these entry systems ( they do loads of car parks too- the yellow and silver machines). Noticed they did mk dons entry system. Wibble.

NP is continuing his summer clearout by binning off fans that are too plastic or moan too much. If you havent recieved your ST, your services are not required this season and free to look for another club. Forest are always desperate for supporters if you're struggling.

The home of Leicester City is set for another upgrade in the new season, following the installation of new state-of-the-art entry technology at King Power Stadium.

The Fortress GB access control system has been implemented across the stadium, facilitating secure, contactless admission for supporters via hi-tech new smartcards and tickets.

From the opening home game of the season against Peterborough United on 18 August, Season Ticket Holders will access the stadium using micro-chipped Season Ticket Cards, while match tickets will be issued with a unique barcode that will be scanned on entry.

Season Ticket Cards are currently in their dispatch phase and should be received by Season Ticket Holders by Wednesday 8 August. As well as using the cards for home league games, Season Ticket Holders will be able to load additional cup fixtures onto their cards, without the need for a paper ticket.

A global provider of supporter management solutions, Fortress GB have successfully installed access control systems at some of the world's leading sports and entertainment venues, including Arsenal's Emirates Stadium, Manchester City's Etihad Stadium, the Stade France in Paris and London's O2 Arena.

Leicester City Chief Executive Officer Susan Whelan said: "Improvements to facilities at King Power Stadium have been on-going and Fortress GB's access control system is our latest investment in an improved supporter experience.

"As well as making admission to the stadium a lot easier, the system offers numerous security benefits, facilities that will help us establish a better understanding of supporter habits and the future potential to expand to a one-card solution for all transactions within the stadium."

The new system will be activated for the first time for the npower Championship visit of Peterborough United on Saturday 18 August. Admission to the friendly against Sunderland on Saturday 11 August will be by paper ticket only.

Season Ticket Holders that have not received their new Season Ticket Card by Friday 10 August should visit the City Fanstore or contact the City Sales Centre on 0844 815 5000.

Your Season Ticket Card will arrive in the post with instructions on how to use it enclosed. Please take the time to read these instructions before you use your Season Ticket Card for the first time.

Something will go wrong, technology always fails at some point.

Nothing could go wrong with the old system of tearing out a slip of paper and handing it to a guy who pressed a pedal.

This is all pointless, and in typical style they try to tell us it will enhance the supporter experience...not quite sure how!
