What do you call them?

To their faces, I'd probably call them "Sir"

Behind the mask of the internet, I'd go with something like "son-a-bitch fattie sweaty pig-faced anus-eating wank-fanatics"

Why are people revelling in the misfortune of a club which lives hand to mouth?

That £60k lost is money which is needed to pay the wages of not only the players but the people who keep a club alive, the laundry ladies, the turnstile operators, the office staff, groundsmen etc.

If not for the tinpot remark on their forum, the pisstaking wouldn't be taking place.

Totally agree.

Bilo, 1 throwaway remark from 1 fan on their forum. If fans scoured our recent postings they would see us slating Cardiff fans and plenty of other clubs - it was just a remark - who cares or takes the blindest bit of notice if some 14 year old called us "tinpot" - in the scheme of the premiership that is what we are?

Well most at the top of the stand are.

Didn't say the whole of L1, my friends had a season ticket at the bottom of it and they were alright.

But majority of these fans probably are from the top of L1 or just don't go to Leicester matches at all.

Kingfox your a cock

Still, good to see that a female guard was assaulted. She probably deserved that for having the temerity to serve people coffee and wipe up their mess - or more likely having to act as a barrier between whatever was happening and Joe Public . Throw in a few traumatised families out in the town centre for a coffee with their kids and it sounds like a really impressive afternoon.

Gangs of rival football fans fought running battles in Lincoln city centre after a friendly match with Leicester City was called off.

Chairs and tables from a coffee shop were flung around a street during one of several skirmishes that broke out in the city on Saturday afternoon.

Officers confirmed that two men from Leicester were given on-the-spot fines for public order offences following the trouble.

Seven people in total were ordered by police to leave the city centre.

Police are also investigating an allegation that a steward on a train carrying Leicester City fans was assaulted.

Scores of fans had travelled from Leicester to Lincoln despite the friendly match with the Vauxhall Conference side being called off.

Lincolnshire police asked for the game to be called off after receiving intelligence that people were planning to travel to Lincoln with the intention of causing serious disorder in the city.

Sarah Coldron, manager of Kodak Express in Lincoln's Guildhall Street, witnessed some of the trouble on Saturday.

She said: "We looked up and saw around eight or nine lads flinging tables and chairs around in the street.

"The police came running down the street just as I was about to call them and about five minutes later they had three guys in handcuffs and put them in the riot van.

"It just came out of nowhere. It was quite scary and not something you expect to see in Lincoln.

"It's just mindless thugs with nothing better to do on a Saturday afternoon."

Lincolnshire police said a small number of officers managed to keep the two groups of rival fans apart.

Officers escorted the Leicester fans to the railway station, where there was more trouble.

British Transport Police (BTP) were called after the emergency cord on a train carrying Leicester fans was pulled just outside the station.

A female guard on board the 18.34 service, which was halted, was assaulted.

Police lined the tracks while the train made its way back to the station.

The 80 Leicester fans on board were transferred on to the 19.35pm service to Nottingham.

No arrests have yet been made in connection with the alleged assault.

A BTP spokeswoman said: "Following the emergency cord activation, the train suffered damage to its brakes and had to return to the station."

A Lincolnshire police spokeswoman said: "Throughout the day a total of seven dispersal notices were issued to males from both Lincoln and Leicester, instructing them to leave the city centre.

"A further arrest was made of a Leicester male for being drunk and disorderly at Lincoln train station."

Another man from Leicester, arrested on suspicion of causing a breach of the peace, was allowed to go with no further action.

The match was eventually played behind closed doors at the King Power Stadium, with Leicester running out 5-0 winners.

Lincoln City say the cancellation of the fixture at its Sincil Bank ground had cost them about £30,000.

Anyone with information which could help BTP with their inquiries into the trouble can contact them on 0800 40 50 40.

These are throwaway remarks as well.

Nobody's saying they hope Lincoln go bust because of them and/or wishing death and pestilence upon Sincil Bank.

Don't take the internet so seriously.

At least 30 baby squad were involved and some reports mentioned 80 although i think that's exagerated.

Fair enough, just seems that people on here are talking one Imps fan too seriously.

We still went, and this is how we saw it.

Until it was time to leave, we actually had a really nice day.

We still went, and this is how we saw it.

I used to go lots of away matches in the past, usually well into double figures. But, mortgage, kids, bills and the like have reduced me to one or two a year.

To get to the point, your blog brought back a lot of memories. There are a very small minority of people who follow football to cause trouble. In my more testosterone fueled youth, I may have fantasised that they were noble warriors for a common cause, only looking to fight others of a like mind. My mind was changed when my sister and I became their targets on a train back from Nottingham. Basically they were looking for entertainment and the psychopathic bullies would be entertained even if it was at the expense of other Leicester fans. I have little sympathy with the trouble makers these days.

Another personal nerve was jolted by your description of the behaviour of the police. I think you are correct that the police have a vested interest in their being football violence. One way they benefit is of course from overtime, but for many officers the real gain in from getting to be hard and feel powerful. To achieve their aim they often speak to fans with total disrespect and behave in a threatening and aggressive manner.

Which brings me on to my last point. Talk to anyone who doesn't attend football matches about how the police sometimes seem hellbent on trouble and they will look at you with total disdain. The myth that football fans cause trouble is so ingrained that the 'general public' assume any behaviour by the police must be totally justified. This is the same mindset which allows football fans to be removed of certain civil liberties just by pulling on a football top or going to a game.

Lots of things in football have changed it seems....most of the the time anyway.

Im not sticking up for anyone here but just because they cause trouble doesn't mean they don't support Leicester? if you're gay, straight, lesbian, trouble maker, disabled, a criminal, rich or poor and support your club, you're still a fan.

Obviously you will get trouble makers that are not fans but don't expect them all to be like that.
