Oadby Fox Posted 1 September 2012 Posted 1 September 2012 http://www.thisislei...tail/story.html I can guarantee Leicester fans that every single day I went into that club I tried my best. My time at City was the worst possible nightmare' Blackpool boss Ian Holloway admits he probably would not have enjoyed the success he has had with the Tangerines if it was not for his time as Leicester City boss. http://www.blackpoolgazette.co.uk/sport/football/blackpool-fc/holloway-on-leicester-clash-1-4888309 The Pool boss has failed to win against City since taking over at Bloomfield Road over three years ago, makes him “sick and fed upâ€. "Not this evening either Mr Hollaway, keep your sick bag handy 3-2 to City"

Fox92 Posted 1 September 2012 Posted 1 September 2012 "It was like my worst nightmare ever. Leicester are a great club, the fans didn't moan at me much when I was there" I see things haven't changed then
Jace Posted 1 September 2012 Posted 1 September 2012 The guy seems a good bloke and a good manager and took over a complete mess here when we went down don't think he deserved such a hard time for it
Bryn Posted 1 September 2012 Posted 1 September 2012 I'm glad he knows he failed here. Many a manager would try to brush that off in public, particularly one who has succeeded in such a way since. He still failed though. Catastrophically.
yorkie1999 Posted 1 September 2012 Posted 1 September 2012 i think he's a great manager now and sees the game for what it is.....A game
Babylon Posted 1 September 2012 Posted 1 September 2012 I still think no matter who we put in charge we'd have gone down. The negativity surrounding this club at the time was like nothing I'd ever seen here before... and we're a bunch of negative feckers.
Guest Bilo Posted 1 September 2012 Posted 1 September 2012 I think his time here made him the manager he is today. He was always renowned for safety first football as well as his quips before coming here, then went back to Blackpool with a far more attacking style and has reaped the dividends since. In fairness, we'd been a club in decline for some time before he walked into our dugout for the first time so he can't be blamed completely for what happened that season. He made mistakes but people saying he was the worst manager in our history are way off. Peter Taylor took a top 10 Premiership side playing in Europe with an unprecedented budget that could have been on the brink of something really special and turned it into relegation fodder. And to think we were linked with David Moyes when MON left.
Mark_w Posted 1 September 2012 Posted 1 September 2012 I don't really care if his time here made him a good manager, I'd just like us to beat him today. Wouldn't swap him for Nigel.
EnderbyFox Posted 1 September 2012 Posted 1 September 2012 Not gonna complain too much, as I stand by the fact that being relegated helped us become the team we are today.
Chairman of the Bored Posted 1 September 2012 Posted 1 September 2012 Hollowhead: get over it, we have.
Ian W LCFC Posted 1 September 2012 Posted 1 September 2012 I won't be booing for him, but I am definately not his biggest fan either!
davieG Posted 1 September 2012 Posted 1 September 2012 Not gonna complain too much, as I stand by the fact that being relegated helped us become the team we are today. Which is one place below the league position we were in when he arrived.
purpleronnie Posted 1 September 2012 Posted 1 September 2012 Hollowhead: get over it, we have. Get over it? He was asked about his time at leicester and he repsonded...and some fans clearly havent moved on....your reference to him confirms this.
Guest ttfn Posted 1 September 2012 Posted 1 September 2012 I think Holloway's more cut up about that relegation than we are. With hindsight, it was the best thing that could have happened to the club.
Kitchandro Posted 1 September 2012 Posted 1 September 2012 I think Holloway's more cut up about that relegation than we are. With hindsight, it was the best thing that could have happened to the club. Why was it?
Guest shearfox Posted 1 September 2012 Posted 1 September 2012 Things didn't go right for him at City for sure but he didn't have long and took on a side that was on a downward spiral at the time. His a great character and a good football manager.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 1 September 2012 Posted 1 September 2012 He is a far better manager than most gave credit for. He took Blackpool into the Premiership on a shoestring budget. It wasn't his fault that once there, he was given no real money to establish themselves.

Yet on a shoestring budget, Nigel finished above him the season Blackpool went up, you think Nigel is a far better manager than most give him credit for right?

Mark_w Posted 2 September 2012 Posted 2 September 2012 Did we make the Premiership? I don't think so. :nono: Did our manager get us into a better league position than Holloway did with Blackpool? I think so. :yesyes:
