BlackCat73 Posted 2 September 2012 Posted 2 September 2012 Hello again...good win for you boys last night and I'm happy with a point at Swansea. Anyway, we're looking to have Christmas lunch out this year so, any recommendations from the good people on Foxestalk? Thanks
Trav Le Bleu Posted 2 September 2012 Posted 2 September 2012 Fusions Restaurant Really depends how traditional you want it - pretty much all the "best" restaurants in Leicester are Indian.

Larry_LCFC Posted 2 September 2012 Posted 2 September 2012 You cant beat a homemade christmas dinner. Just tastes so much better. Why would you want to go out on chistmas day and get ripped off? AND miss the queens speech
Rincewind Posted 2 September 2012 Posted 2 September 2012 Thought somebody was sending out invites. Time of goodwill and all that.
LcFc_Smiv Posted 2 September 2012 Posted 2 September 2012 The Berkeley Arms in Wymondham, you won't get a better christmas dinner. http://www.theberkel...o.uk/index.html Oh and you'll have to book to avoid disappointment.
jonthefox Posted 3 September 2012 Posted 3 September 2012 My mums is the best place. I'm sure we can make room for another, although you may get the spare chair. Y'know, the one thats about a foot to short.
Rincewind Posted 4 September 2012 Posted 4 September 2012 Mot sure if I can get away this year. If I do not apply for jobs Xmas week my JSA could be stopped. I have to be available for work 366 days of the year. No idea what I'm doing. Can't really afford to visit family.
Guest MattP Posted 4 September 2012 Posted 4 September 2012 The Market Tavern in town is good, turn up on the day and pay, lovely clientel. If they are full just go down the road to the Lamplighters.
Samilktray Posted 4 September 2012 Posted 4 September 2012 If somebody recommends the Lamplighters, that tells you all you need to know about that person
Guest MattP Posted 4 September 2012 Posted 4 September 2012 If somebody recommends the Lamplighters, that tells you all you need to know about that person I take it you didn't take in the stunning St George's Day 49p breakfast then last year? You're missing out.

Lamplighters ...... On Christmas day?? i would rather eat a raw turkey and snort nutmeg I take it you didn't take in the stunning St George's Day 49p breakfast then last year? You're missing out. did that come with a side order of knuckle sandwich ?
Guest MattP Posted 4 September 2012 Posted 4 September 2012 Last year was really good, we got a free belt and cooking up spoon with the meal.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 4 September 2012 Posted 4 September 2012 I admire Lamplighters for the fact it seems to have karaoke on, every single minute they're open. Walk down the High Street at 11 in the morning and it's almost guaranteed there'll be a topless, unemployed rapscallion waving his string vest about while belting out Against All Odds by Phil Collins almost incoherently with a pint of John Smiths on stand by, and I find that charming.

They did last time I was in on a Tuesday, incredible stuff, the underclass is alive and kicking. I got up and did an Elvis number, they were lapping it up, some were waving their crutches in the air. I didnt realise how early it opened, 7am now and people are in supping pints, I was walking to St Martins square a couple of weeks back on a weekday about 8.45am and it was already half full.

purpleronnie Posted 6 September 2012 Posted 6 September 2012 definately the blandest meal of the year.
FoxesAreBlue Posted 6 September 2012 Posted 6 September 2012 definately the blandest meal of the year. Its certainly overhyped, just a usual sundal lunch but with more of the family round (which is nice to be fair).
Bayfox Posted 6 September 2012 Posted 6 September 2012 The Wheel Inn Rearsby. £34.99 for 5 Courses and you can choose between English or Indian!!!
Parafox Posted 6 September 2012 Posted 6 September 2012 My mums is the best place. I'm sure we can make room for another, although you may get the spare chair. Y'know, the one thats about a foot to short. The emergency chair...
glenny_fox Posted 6 September 2012 Posted 6 September 2012 Woodhouse in (you guessed it) Woodhouse Eaves.
Guest MattP Posted 7 September 2012 Posted 7 September 2012 Its certainly overhyped, just a usual sundal lunch but with more of the family round (which is nice to be fair). Add some champagne and bacon wraps. It's only bland and boring if you make it so.
