davieG Posted 7 November 2015 Author Posted 7 November 2015 He gave me a lovely smile on Loseby Lane the other week. He gets my vote. I bet he thought you were a little sweetie
DEMANN Posted 7 November 2015 Posted 7 November 2015 I bet he thought you were a little sweetiei am anyway, but I'd like to think it was an earnest, friendly smile from an earnest, friendly man of the people.
Claridge Posted 8 November 2015 Posted 8 November 2015 i am anyway, but I'd like to think it was an earnest, friendly smile from an earnest, friendly man of the people. put some info on here about another ex labour MP and a super injunction by a current leicester MP and it vazished sorry it vanished
Thracian Posted 8 November 2015 Posted 8 November 2015 So much anger and insinuation. And there's me thinking he was representative of Labour's "fairness and equality" that Rincey mentioned.
Darkon84 Posted 9 November 2015 Posted 9 November 2015 It's actually horrific how so many Leicestershire MPs are total out of touch, on both sides of the political spectrum. David 'Star Reader' Tredinnick and Keith fvcking Vaz the stand-out performers. I'm surprised Leicestershire hasn't just been reclaimed by Earth and sunk into the ground for our god-awful political choices. Woah woah woah, let's not bring the Shire in to this. We're free from Vaz and the City Council out here! It's a simpler, but much better life
howlinmadmurfdoc Posted 9 November 2015 Posted 9 November 2015 At the last game of last season there were a few ex players knocking around outside the ground signing autographs, Vaz seen this and came over to try to sign autographs, just about everyone told him to do one!
Mike Oxlong Posted 9 November 2015 Posted 9 November 2015 i am anyway, but I'd like to think it was an earnest, friendly smile from an earnest, friendly man of the people. Unlikely.
DEMANN Posted 9 November 2015 Posted 9 November 2015 Unlikely.I was attempting sarcasm. It was a creepy smile, as one might imagine.
Free Falling Foxes Posted 9 November 2015 Posted 9 November 2015 He was on 5live going on about the Coca Cola truck. I thought at the time that he ought to check-out the diet of most of his constituents. Have you ever had an 'indian sweet? it is basically a square lump of sugar with added fat.........and then a bit more sugar. Then I read he opened a shop selling the stuff! Hypocrisy doesn't come close.
Dr The Singh Posted 9 November 2015 Posted 9 November 2015 While Vaz is spending his payrise for party for the cvnt Modi, good to see minorities of the Indian diaspora protest against Modi, and India's shitty treatment of them. Vaz should be ashamed!! http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/modi-uk-visit-british-indians-protest-indian-prime-minister-projection-onto-parliament-1527815

Democracy at its best, eh! .
Rincewind Posted 10 November 2015 Posted 10 November 2015 Is this thread still going? Still I do not know the man personally like most of you do so carry on slinging the mud. I am sure he is deserving of it. I will not defend him.
Guest MattP Posted 10 November 2015 Posted 10 November 2015 If he was a Tory Ken you would be all over him given the amount of corruption he's been involved in over the years.
Webbo Posted 10 November 2015 Posted 10 November 2015 If he was a Tory Ken you would be all over him given the amount of corruption he's been involved in over the years. Not Ken, he believes in fairness.

I am sure he is deserving of it. I will not defend him. Come on now, it doesn't take an awful lot of digging to find any of the numerous times he's been associated with or involved in, shall we say, unsavoury activities or associations. Singh even posted a link not more than 2 posts above your own.
Guest MattP Posted 10 November 2015 Posted 10 November 2015 Ken turning a blind eye to a Labour MP'S behaviour, never.
BoyJones Posted 10 November 2015 Posted 10 November 2015 Most other MP's would have been ruined after the years of allegations of money for visas and hiding income, but Vaz keeps getting voted in! Surprised about the Coca Cola thing as according to the papers he is well used to sweeteners.
Rincewind Posted 10 November 2015 Posted 10 November 2015 He is just one of many from all political parties and gets a thread all to himself. Is it because he is Labour or a complete whatever I wonder? At least his leader claims the least amount out of them all.
Guest MattP Posted 10 November 2015 Posted 10 November 2015 He is just one of many from all political parties and gets a thread all to himself. Is it because he is Labour or a complete whatever I wonder? At least his leader claims the least amount out of them all. Depends on how you look at that, for his general living expenses he does claim very little, in terms of perks of the job though he's up there with Bercow for travelling the World in the business class section. http://www.thesundaytimes.co.uk/sto/news/Politics/article1588611.ece THE Labour leadership favourite Jeremy Corbyn, who has boasted that he is a “parsimonious MP” because he claims so little on parliamentary expenses, has been flying around the world and staying in five-star hotels on expenses-paid trips. Since 2000 the MP for Islington North has accepted free flights to at least 18 destinations, including San Francisco, New York, Canada, Chile and Iran. Taxpayers paid for some of his business-class flights and one trip, to Iran, was part funded by an Iranian-born property investor who has donated to the Tories and Liberal Democrats. In the last parliament the left-wing MP made taxpayer- funded visits to Mexico, Guatemala and Honduras, flying business class and staying in four and five-star hotels. He also flew to Geneva for four days, courtesy of the taxpayer, to attend a conference with parliamentarians from around the world. He flew business class last year on an expenses-paid trip to Tehran, which cost more than £2,316. This flight was part-funded by Ardeshir Naghshineh, the Iranian-born head of a British property investment company. The businessman paid £373 towards Corbyn’s flights to and from Tehran, the rest coming from “a non-registrable source”. The trip was designed to promote “parliamentary friendship” with Iran. Naghshineh, who once owned 10% of Woolworths, has given almost £20,000 to the Lib Dems and helped to bankroll the party leadership campaign of Norman Lamb MP, who was defeated last month by the leftwinger Tim Farron. The businessman has also given £134,000 to the Conservative party’s Middle East council. Corbyn has been on several trips with the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), a taxpayer-funded organisation that promotes co-operation between parliaments around the world. The Labour backbencher was last year flown business class to Guatemala and Honduras as part of a delegation of MPs and peers who met local politicians and human rights activists. In Guatemala the group stayed at the five-star Hotel Camino Real in Guatemala City, courtesy of the Guatemalan parliament. The hotel has a swimming pool, tennis and squash courts, a steam bath, a gym and a whirlpool bath. In Tegucigalpa, the capital of Honduras, the parliamentarians enjoyed the luxury of the InterContinental hotel which has an outdoor pool and spa. On an all-expenses paid IPU trip to Mexico in 2012, Corbyn also flew business class, courtesy of the UK taxpayer, and stayed at the four-star Gran Reforma hotel in Mexico City. In March last year he was flown to Geneva with a delegation of MPs for a four-day trip to attend the IPU assembly. His flights and hotel accommodation were paid for by the UK taxpayer. Because the IPU trips are funded by the taxpayer rather than by an outside body, MPs do not have to declare them in the register of interests. Corbyn’s involvement in the Middle East peace process has taken him to Palestine several times, including a £2,821 trip to Gaza with his wife and his researcher in 2013 which was paid for by the aid charity Interpal. America has put Interpal on a sanctions list although the charity has denied any links to terrorism. In October 2007 Corbyn flew to San Francisco to attend an international conference against war. His expenses on that trip were paid for by the American maritime longshoremen’s union. In March 2006 he was flown to India to attend a “Peace Mumbai” conference. The MP has declared that he is “a parsimonious MP” because his expenses claims are so low. In 2010 he claimed just £8 for an ink cartridge. Maybe that's why his domestic living expenses are so low, most of the time he's dining for free on the tax payer in five star hotels the World over.
davieG Posted 10 November 2015 Author Posted 10 November 2015 The most outrageous aspect of him is that he is Chair of this committee. The Home Affairs Committee is one of the House of Commons Select Committees related to government departments: its terms of reference are to examine "the expenditure, administration and policy of the Home Office and its associated public bodies". The Committee chooses its own subjects of inquiry, within the overall terms of reference. It invites written evidence from interested parties and holds public evidence sessions, usually in committee rooms at the House of Commons, although it does have the power to meet away from Westminster. At the end of each inquiry, the Committee will normally agree a Report based on the evidence received. Such Reports are published and made available on the internet. Reports usually contain recommendations to the Government and other bodies. The Government by convention responds to reports within about two months of publication. These responses are also published.
Guest MattP Posted 10 November 2015 Posted 10 November 2015 In all honesty though, he's absolutely brilliant in that role, he absolutely tore to shreds the two officers who lied about Andrew Mitchell calling them "plebs" and he gave the Nonce Finder General a good going over as well the other week.

Well if we can't find anyone that's 'clean' to do the job as well as he does then we surely are ****ed.
