foxesfan1989 Posted 5 October 2012 Posted 5 October 2012 50 years old today! Incredible series of books and films. I've read a few of the books and love them. That said I have also seen all the films many many times and love them too. So who is everyone's favourite Bond actor? And what is everyone's favourite film? Mine has to be Sean Connery...cliche but hey, he is just so iconic. Also Dalton was highly underrated and deserved at least one more flick. Favourite film changes a lot, but at the moment it's The Living Daylights. Great great plot with a lot of twists and turns, has its dark moments too. I also love the Connery classics such as Thunderball and Goldfinger.
Parafox Posted 5 October 2012 Posted 5 October 2012 I've always though Bond films to be over-rated, over-hyped, over-repeated (on ITV) corny tosh. I'm not one who can suspend disbelief to the degree required to enjoy a Bond film.
Finnegan Posted 5 October 2012 Posted 5 October 2012 I like the classics but the most recent reboot has been the best in my opinion, a few less cheesy one liners and a bit more ass-kicking. So Daniel Craig for me. As it is, I'm also massively in love with Eva Green so she's probably my favourite Bond girl as well! Looking forward to Skyfall.
Samilktray Posted 5 October 2012 Posted 5 October 2012 Apart from the Daniel Craig 1s, I dont know why anybody would watch James Bond movies.
Guest BlueBrett Posted 5 October 2012 Posted 5 October 2012 I'm not so keen on the newer ones. Too many explosions and car chases and not enough believable spycraft. It has pretty much become just another action movie these days. If a bomb went off in MI5 I don't think the government would despatch James Bond to sort it out, I'm pretty sure it would be the British Army. Have to agree that Connery was the best because he managed to bring a sort of smirky humour to the role that nobody else has achieved. Can't really settle on a favourite film though
21st Century Fox Posted 5 October 2012 Posted 5 October 2012 My head says Connery, my heart says Moore. Some of the people who've been seriously considered to play Bond in the past is shocking! Peter Snow Ranulph Fiennes Mel Gibson Burt Reynolds Adam West Clint Eastwood Michael Gambon Liam Neeson Colin Farrell Hugh Jackman Ewan McGregor Hugh Grant Colin Firth

foxesfan1989 Posted 5 October 2012 Author Posted 5 October 2012 The new song really fits the lineage of the bond themes too, well done Adele.
Fox in the North Posted 5 October 2012 Posted 5 October 2012 I like that a lot. Very Bondesque, but I don't think the range she sings at in the song does her voice justice. Always thought Amy Winehouse could have sung a good Bond song.

Peter Snow Ranulph Fiennes Mel Gibson Burt Reynolds Adam West Clint Eastwood Michael Gambon Liam Neeson Colin Farrell Hugh Jackman Ewan McGregor Hugh Grant Colin Firth I think George Baker ( inspector Wexford) was a serious contender too . Daniel Craig is the best imo. I wish they'd ditch that little chubby woman who plays his boss though .
The Doctor Posted 5 October 2012 Posted 5 October 2012 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EKlWA9ntRYM Never really "got" Bond, the villains are usually crap: "I could shoot you with this gun, but instead I'll do something elaborate and unnecessary that gives you at least 15 minutes to escape".
1964FOX Posted 5 October 2012 Posted 5 October 2012 Best bond is Sean Connery Best vilan is Jaws Best girl is Pussy Galore In my opinion.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 5 October 2012 Posted 5 October 2012 Best bond is Sean Connery Best vilan is Jaws Best girl is Pussy Galore In my opinion. Are you sure it's not someone else's?
1964FOX Posted 5 October 2012 Posted 5 October 2012 Are you sure it's not someone else's? Possibly but I'm not sure.
Leicesterpool Posted 5 October 2012 Posted 5 October 2012 Dr Jones in The World's Not Enough is stunning! Her acting is dreadful, but as hot as hell. On James Bond look at different actor that could have been bond http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_actors_considered_for_the_James_Bond_character
hebangsthedrums Posted 7 October 2012 Posted 7 October 2012 Die Another Day was a disgrace, but other than that I like them all to varying degrees. Saw some of the filming of Skyfall at Pinewood and going to a preview screening on the 24th - can't wait!
rico Posted 7 October 2012 Posted 7 October 2012 Her acting is dreadful, but as hot as hell. On James Bond look at different actor that could have been bond http://en.wikipedia...._Bond_character interesting that Paul McGann almost got it over Brosnan
MooseBreath Posted 7 October 2012 Posted 7 October 2012 You've got to take Bond for what it is. It's not meant to be a serious movie, it's closer to the fantasy action of the likes of Batman than it is any movie which tries to be factual. It's just a light hearted bit of fun, and what it does it does well.
